yeah I don't care about pride really. i've already beaten it on heroic solo that's all i need!!!

i will play through on normal to get these skulls but it'd be nice to do it in co-op so i'm asking gaf for help.
I'll be home in just over 2 hours and am highly down for getting some together to run through all of this.

I'm at work so I'm trying to do as much research on what is the quickest way to get all the skulls etc.

Anyone up for a 10pm CST run for the skulls from 1 to as many as we can get. I'm down for an all nigher but thats just me lolol

this game is great when you're winning and shit when you're losing :lol I cant believe im doing so well considering im a halo noob. I hope they add some more achievements with winning every medal like i said before.. medal collecting is addictive.

I love that battle. Super awesome. A bit easy though, you just keep your distance with the Hornet and use missles to take out the ground support, then land on the Scarab.
That entire level is SO good, and I love those Hornets.

I'm on the last level, near the end. I've almost finished the fight. Tomorrow will be the day of multiplayer.
Easy?

I've died more than 10 times this afternoon. I can't just land on one Scarab, because when that happens the ginormous explosion takes out my Hornet - and there's a bunch of ground vehicles that come cruising in when it blows (a pair of Prowlers) that mow me down.

But I Have a Plan (TM).

And yeah - such an awesome battle. In fact, the entire game has been a series of awesome battles. I'm holding back on posting anything other than random yibbering as I go since I want to look at the Campaign comprehensively, but one thing stands out right now: there's a lot of memorable battles. In Halo 1, there are many - defending the first group of Marines on the second level, the sniper insertion and hanger bay battles of Truth and Reconciliation, landing on the beach in Silent Cartographer, the huge battle at the end of Two Betrayals - the list goes on. In Halo 2, I can only think of a couple.

There's already been over a dozen enormous set-pieces in Halo 3 that I cannot wait to go back and play again - on Legendary, solo, with friends, with skulls active, with and without vehicles. In that one respect alone, Halo 3 dances all over the second, and even the first, game.

On the final level did anybody
use the mongoose that was sort of hidden? I didnt try the last part again with the Hog, but using the mongoose was pretty awesome and provided some crazy funny stuff.

Shame on you.
That level is meant for a Warthog. Halo 1 cries out in pain from your decision

My God. Just finished Level 5. One of the most visuall stunning levels I've ever seen, seriously. This was my "Gears Of What" level for sure. Maybe not surpassing it, I haven't played it in a long time, but holy shit this level looked so fucking amazing.

Why didn't we get the achievement for the skull on Storm? We did everything right.

By any chance was it team elite that touched it first? Cause we know the game hates team elite...

It was hidden so I felt like I had to use it. It was pretty crazy cause that thing flips like crazy. I thought it was some damn good fun. I'll do it again with the hog next time

If you use the hornet to cap the legs a target pops up in the back that'll let you blast the core without getting off it.

It makes it soooo much harder because of how exposed you are, and I think it goes slower too.

I feel the same. When I'm kicking ass I'm on cloud nine. But as soon as I start getting my ass handed to me, including in shotty/snipers, it's the most frustrating game ever. Good thing the game is just to insanely fun to let a little frustration bother me or I would have have a broken controller, tv screen, and snapped disc by now :lol

Ok i think its crap the way they have these skulls typed up. Why would you not just put them in the order you get them? :lol Well I'm almost done typing them up in the order you get them in a word document. Could I post that in order on here for more convenient use?

I'd appreciate it.

To counter that problem ...
I knocked off the first hornet from the cliff and then got in teh 2nd one. I then took down the first scarab and of course my hornet didnt make it, but the hornet I knocked off the cliff was still there.

It would be really cool if there was a "Bungie Favorites" playlist, so we could actually play these cool custom games without having to gather tons of friends.

Hai doods.

Skull question:

Some of these skulls on this guide list effects that occur.. Does that mean that permanently occurs while you're playing? Example
Black Eye Skull Effect: When you lose shield, the only way to get it back it to melee an enemy.

If that's the case that would make the game a complete bitch from that point forth.

Holy cow, they found the IWHBYD skull - gotta give it to the Halo fanbase - I was worried that it'd take another two years like the first IWHBYD skull in Halo 2...

Although it was a bit cheap to look in the coding to find the level it was in, I wonder how in the world they managed to find that combination - it starts with E, so maybe it's the Halo them? That'd be cool if true...

But either way, awesome job in finding that skull in record time, hell, it's still within the same week!

Bungie must be feeling pretty surprised that it was found so quickly, after saying a few times that it'd be a long time before it's found...

Been playing for a couple days now. Up to mission 3...so far it's much much better than Halo 2. Far less repetitive than either 1 or 2 as well. Loving that. The game just plays better too. It's not a radical departure, it just "feels" better.

I totally screwed my buddy on that part. We played the whole game through on Legendary, and I never told him how to take out the Scarabs. I took out every one for the whole campaign. At this part I just rocketed the Covenant on the deck and landed the Hornet on top. I ran in, grabbed a plasma turret, dropped the Scarab, and jumped right back on to my Hornet. Lather, Rinse, Repeat for the other one. I'm a hero, and my buddy is a chump. Whooped him in the Meta Game for that level

I don't want to use a guide, but does anyone know how many terminals there are, and if you need to activate them all in the same playthrough to get the achievement?
I stumbled onto 2 on my first playthrough before I knew there was an acievement for them. Thanks

Also I'm looking to expand my tiny frieds list, I'm already sick of playing with little kids and guys talking about how stoned they are.

What the hell ? How come I can't get skulls ?

I go into the Campaign lobby. I put it to
Sierra 117
(I know where the skull is for this level so I'm trying to get it). I put the difficulty to Normal (I read on TXB that the difficulty has to be Normal or higher in order to obtain skulls). I start up
Sierra 117
from the third checkpoint, get to the area where the skull is, but it's not there ? :(

You must start from the beginning of the mission - not a checkpoint.

You have to start from the beginning, man.

Nevermind. Beaten.

here is your problem. Look at the link I sent its in huge letters at the top:

Note #1: There are more than these 9 skulls, but only these give achievements. All extra skulls will be listed at the bottom.

Note #2: You must start the levels from the beginning or the skull will not appear, do not select a checkpoint.

Note #3: You can only get these on Normal, Heroic or Legendary.

Note #4: You can get these in co-op and the achievement will unlock for everyone playing.
