You have to play from the Mission Start. Checkpoints do not work.

4. How exactly do you join custom games? Do you have to be invited by someone, even though the Public Open option is displayed? I finally got to try Infection yesterday, but only when someone invited me. There needs to be a search option for custom games.

Once you've defeated the Scarab, make sure to grab another Grav Lift from inside the structure which sits in the middle of the area where you fought it. That should get you where you need to go.

Dirtbag, care to give a quick rundown on how bungie's pirate gametype works? I haven my own pirate gametype I was thinking of making, I want to see how similar it is.

Pirate Sharks:

Pirate team spawns on the pirate ship (the elephant) and have normal player traits. And get basically swords and pistols. And the object is to defend the elephant with the turrets on the ship. No radars. There are also 4 atvs in the basement of the ship that you can abandon ship with once the shit hits the fan.

The infected team spawns on foot, in the middle of the map. With shotguns only, radars, higher jumping ability, and speedy as hell. They can't pick up any weapons, nor can they drive vehicles. They essentially assault the ship (elephant) on foot swarm it and slowly convert everyone to sharks.

Usually the last guy standing abandons ship on the atv and drives around like a mad man.

All kills tally as normal.

I played for a whopping amount of - beating the first stage - yesterday before I had to quit since I had a terrible ear infection that got progressively worse as I played. I liked what I've played though, although that asshole Brute at the end of the stage with the gravity hammer sneaking up on me and killing me got to me after the 10th time it happened

As I said earlier, right now I think a lot of people are hip deep in objective based stuff like the campaign and getting a solid rank down. I probably won't be doing too much custom stuff for a few weeks just because my time is limited and I'm hungry to finish campaign and not be a Private all my life.

Right as I hit send I realized that it was pretty unlikely that I wouldn't play custom stuff sooner than I think, just because it's so easy to go between all three, Campaign, Ranked, Custom. And you're absolutely right about skill.

and i love the mauler, but the shotgun gets precedence in close range combat (as it should). but mauler and spiker/smg is AWESOME. whittle down their shields then follow up with a close hit from the mauler before they can strike you
