Did anyone else have their matchmaking EXP reset this morning? I have no badges. It's weird, if I look on the Enlisted Rating page (Rating History), it shows them as unlocked, but my EXP is 0 and I don't have one next to my name. It wasn't a lot of games or EXP, so it's no biggie. Might be B.net growing pains or something.

Ok I just reached the fourth level and stopped for now. Love the first level. It's really beautiful but I found level 2 and 3 rather dull. Are the best levels yet to come? I can see myself playing the first level many times on harder settings but I wouldn't miss two and three if I never played them again.

Officer rankings you jump from stripes to bars and stars, also, that's when it starts checking your Matchmaking skills before you advance.
BTw, people doing MP, how do the maps play so far? I'm really excited for the pit and construct, but I cannot get online

Officer are the higher ratings, and you also need "skill" to unlock them. I believe the skill ratings are the same as matchmaking playlists ranks. So to make Lieutenant, you need the requisite EXP along with a level 10 on at least one playlist. I think that's how it works.BenjaminBirdie said:

OH I get it. So if your matchmaking skill is 19 or lower, you can only progress through the Lieutenant path, 20 and up, the Captain path, and so on. I can have 2000 XP but if my highest skill level is only 15, I can only ever be Grade 4 Lieutenant. Did I get that right?

So, after replaying most of the game, Ive decided on a level which is probably greater than anything else in the Halo series.
The Level where you are trying to stop the prophet from setting off all the Halo instalations..
The beginning part of the level has a very silent cartographer vibe to it with the storming of the beach.. then once you get into the shield arrays you have some really great level layouts in the large open areas.. then you hit the elevator and have the long cooridoor filled with brutes including a chieftan.. just a ton of fun.
THEN the flood hits the map, but not in an altogether annoying way... you can just blast through the flood and keep moving (unlike a certain other, very stupid level).
Once you have managed to deactivate the shield.. then you get some more vehicle based action breaking out the hornets.. including the oh so awesome 2 fucking scarabs, a huge ariel fight ensues while you are being shot at by scarabs and who knows what else, a ground battle raging below you..
It just has so much concentraded win.
I also really thought the part where the flood was helping you reach the deactivation switch and get through the brutes was pretty awesome... then as soon as you deactivate it, you have to turn around and fight your way back out against the flood who was just helping you.

I've been meaning to post this but, I haven't had the time.I bought the CE Halo 3, and I heard about the whole cd messing up thing and all. So the game works great loved it, beat it on normal and legendary then I went to bed. But when I tired the other disc it seem that one is messed up,because it freezes up my 360.

OK I havent researched the skulls much at all and was to busy to play any campaign yesterday. Dont you have to pickup a skull for it's effect to start and dont you need to find the skull and they are well hidden.

Just finished the campaign on Heroic. Great ending after the credits. It doesn't topple Halo 1's magic, but it sure did pack a punch. It was pretty frustrating at times, when I constantly died over and over but the storyline was pretty good. My only complaint is with the music. I wish it was better in parts. I'm sure after I heard the soundtrack in its entirety that will change.
So I played around with everything a little bit yesterday, but ran in to some problems. I played a basic training match and then went back through the film and took a screenshot, then uploaded it to bnet. I went back later to my gallery in the game to look at my shot, but there was a red X through it and it said the shot was corrupted or might be from another version of Halo 3. Guess I'll try some more tonight.
Also I was playing split screen multiplayer and I wanted to go in and take a screen shot, but it wouldn't let me. Can you not take screenshots in split screen? Kind of a drag since I'll be playing like this a lot.
Also the films are a little harder to use than I thought they would be. You can fast forward pretty easily, but you have to rewind by jumping back 10 seconds at a time? On the Bungie podcast they were talking about being able to go frame by frame (in either direction I assumed), but I didn't see how to do that anywhere. Though being able to take the camera and fly it around is awesome.
