I know this has probably been asked before, but with such a huge thread...

Are there no cut-scenes when playing co-op? A friend and I started up a co-op game and it skipped at least the opening cut scene...

All the cut scenes are there, what you probably did was begin on Sierra 117 co-op. "Arrival" is the sequence you're talking about.

How do I delete my save for co-op? I was playing last night and I think my save corrupted in co-op. It wont let me play co-op it gives me a disc read error but it cant be my drive since multiplayer is working flawless and so was co-op until this certain part came up (seemed like a cutscene was about to trigger and I froze). I tried the XX lb rb xX thing but didnt seem to do anything.

Was anyone else disappointed with the legendary stuff?

The AV tester requires you to buy something else from them in order to work.
The Halo cutscenes are just standard definition.

The cat helmet is badass though.

It really sucks not having the wireless adapter to play online, the single player was eh but... shit, the multiplayer is what i want so bad. Fuck I feel like kidnapping my friend from work to use his 360, just like how I woke his ass for Bioshock demo

Wii!!

I haven't touched MP yet, except to take a break to run around a few maps and poke at the forge and download a few movies to watch - oh, IS THERE SLIGHTLY JUST A LOT TO DO IN THIS GAME YES SIR MAYBE THANK YOU MA'AM?

*cough*

Anyway, campaign, on Heroic, for me at least feels like everything that was cool about Halo 1 with just the bare ghost of Halo 2 in there, and next-gen shine added. I'm glad they turned on the motion blur, subtle as it is; at this point it is something that adds an extra sense of reality that's nearly subconscious.

As for the debate over the frame rate, to me it feels like the beta but just a touch more polished. What I'm seeing most of the time isn't really frame rate sluggishness, such as chugging along at 25fps for extended periods, but more like "hitches" that happen at totally random moments. Given how smooth cut scenes are and how smooth movie playback is, I have to think that this is from the AI or something when the game is being run in real time. However, especially with the motion blur in, it really is not bothering me. It doesn't feel as if the engine is underpowered and struggling; quite the opposite, this damn engine feels as if it could vomit forth the hoards of Genghis Khan at any moment. But it's just a touch jittery. I can live with that.

(Especially compared to Gears, which can't run a scripted cut scene at 30fps with 3 characters on screen.)

The one thing standing out to me was actually the score so far. It's really awesome, seems more dynamic, and actually feels as if Marty avoided falling into his own Halo cliche. I'm more impressed with it than Halo 2's score, which felt as if it /was/ lifelessly imitating its own stereotype from the first game.

Yes, but the Halo 2 scenes were re-rendered properly and all run at a flawless 30 fps without any of the texture popping or stuttering. More importantly, the commentary included is absolutely awesome.

That may be so but the actual gameplay segments of Gears run much MUCH smoother.

About the legendary ending:

Are we really sure it's the Dawn with MC that floats by? IMO it didn't look like it... we need some frames from that sequence!

Sure looks like MC/Cortana's "half" of the ship, yes. What else would it be? Simply wouldn't make any sense otherwise.

UPDATE! The game works perfect single player now without my hard drive in place. So this is definately a corrupted save issue. Anyone know where I go to exactly delete my game save? Its not in the halo 3 part in the system blade. Only my films were there. Please help :(

In Memory > HDD > Profiles, no?

There's about four Gamestops near me and every one of them was absolutely packed. I wound up waiting until about 12:45, pulled up to my nearest one and nabbed my copy straight away. Wound up playing until about 5AM. Great, great stuff...

Could be a lot of other things, but seriously, we need some frames or something from that movie and start analyzing! Because there's more to this than we might know...

If you play the Campaign and select a level from before that area it should remove the save, from what I know.

Thats the thing no area will load. Gives me disc is unreadable error. I tried going into campaign and saving instantly and it worked for a second but then booted me.

I wonder why the amount of players playing has dropped so much? It is down to barely 20k. It was up around 160k earlier today.

This was probably asked before but:

wasn't the fight in the ad supposed to be in the game? Where was the brute holding the MC and the marines in the mud?

Got it last night at midnight and just finished it about an hour ago. I played on Normal. Holy shit, what a game.

I underestimated the single-player this time around. Except for
the mission where you fight the flood the entire time. Eighth mission I think? The Flood ALWAYS kinda ruins the experience of the Halo games IMO.
.

I haven't touched the multiplayer portion yet so I'm really excited to play that tonight. I'm glad I got to walk away with a LE copy, because when I preordered it they told me that they'd give me a LE if they had any left, otherwise I'd be getting the regular version.

Just picked up my Collectors Edition - discs are flawless. But there was a guy at the store who was returning his CE - the discs looked like they had been gone over with sandpaper. Needless to say, he was pissed.

Omfg, this sand level on Heroic fuckin' sucks! I've died like 30 times already.

There's a sand level!? Nice.

Ever since that Halo/desert render that made its way around the net a while back i've been wanting a desert environment to make it into a Halo game.

My LE is scratched to all hell, but it still played. Finished the fight on Heroic, missed two classes and a lab exam, slept four hours.

It seems like the formula for Heroic was to give all the grunts Fuel Rod Cannons and place snipers all over the place, in addition to starving you for ammo on the guns you want to be using :(

It's there and it's FUCKING AMAZING.

Ahhh loaded it up here at work :)

Played the first level for like 15 minutes.

Why are the weapons so quiet? Do you have to up that in the sound settings?

Halo 3 Players Online: 5,373

I dont have the game, but are you guys able to log on online multiplayer? seems like there was a crash.

Alot of people are saying that but it's probably the way Bungie designed it.

I noticed that too, the submachine gun sounds like Chinese firecrackers.

All games involving guns should take a page out of Rainbow Six: Vegas' book.
