Congrats Bungie! I have never been this excited about a game in a long while, nor to this degree. I'm going to be in heavy Halo mode for the next few months, but hopefully you guys won't take long to give us a hint about your next project(s.)

Btw, my rankings for this Halo trilogy: Halo 3 > Halo:CE > Halo 2
I LOVED the homage to the original HALO:CE with the cartographer level and that warthog run at the end. I must have had the goofiest grin on my face during the last sequence. I was in heaven.
The ending was great. I guess I was right when I predicted that we would see the Chief back in the Cryotube. Arbiter didn't die, and I couldn't be any happier about it. I love that character, and it was fun to fight alongside him throughout the game. It was fun to fight against Elites in the first game, but it was more fun to fight alongside them. It was also fun to fight alongside the Flood for that brief part in the game.
You guys succeeded in making Brutes fun to kill. The Flood's entry in the game spooked the crap out of me. You guys also did a great job creating a creepy atmosphere on that level. They always felt somewhat goofy in the past two games, but I honestly was freaked out when they appeared.
The game was gorgeous. I can't understand how anyone can suggest the graphics were lackluster. The art was also spectacular. Halo has truly come along way from the "every room looks the same" critiques. Marty created an amazing score again. The guy is pure talent.

1) Take your screenshot
2) UPLOAD it manually to your File Share
3) On Bungie.net go to your File Share
4) Click on the Screenie to bring up the Pop Up of it
5) Click on SAVE TO MY GALLERY
IT IS NOW IN YOUR HI-RES SCREENSHOT, AND SERVICE RECORD GALLERY.
It can now be used as your Money Shot on your profile page, JUST LIKE MINE!

Finished the Fight!
Took me and 3 friends ~6.5 hours to do the deed on Legendary. It was surprisingly fast in parts where upon first inspection I would have thought they'd be near impossible. I guess the skulls will add additional difficulty?
Waiting until I've got more than 3 hours sleep in me to give my judgements on the SP; but for now, its time for work!
edit : Where the crap is my blue filter for the AV calibrator? Thing is useless without it, and my AVIA disc was at work last night. >:|

Fake edit: Man... I'd never noticed how much I liked to melee until I took a closer look at my kills. Almost ONE THIRD of my kills are via melee...

Probably a long shot, does anyone have that picture someone created when the 4 player co-op was announced, with the 4 characters, and "You've run out of things to moan about" stencilled across the bottom? I think its more relevant now the game is in people's hands.

I was certain chief and Cortana was dead (117 at the memorial) then after the credits, out of no where, they leave the game open FOR A SEQUEL somewhere down the road. I like how they wrapped it up.
So basically it ended how it began, which was appropriate. Chief is back in the cryotube. Cortana sends a beacon that will take years for their rescue. So if there are no more Halo games, ever, then that's okay because we can assume everything's fine with the story and characters. And they can still bring it back later if they need to (Halo 4 Xbox 720 confirmed!). Very well done wrap-up for the story IMO.

For the A/V guys, how is the calibration tool? I've calibrated my TV using AVIA in the past and decided to give the Bungie calibrator a go. As I went through the test all the settings matched the AVIA settings except for contrast. According to Bungie's calibrator I needed to turn my contrast up nearly 10 notches! So, is something up with their contrast calibration screen? Or should I use it over AVIA's?

"Cannot be activated?" There are gold skulls and silver skulls - the gold ones give you achievements, and the silver ones don't. But they can all be activated for different effects from the campaign lobby. The gold skulls affect gameplay in large ways, and the silver ones affect gameplay in smaller ways.soco said:

You say we activate it in the lobby, but since my friend got it, do I have it also ? Is there any place where we can see the skulls we found ? Do we have to find it each time we do the walktrough, or are they stacking ?
Is it only in the mode when you score points in the campaign ?

Checked out a CC near me out of curiosity on the way to OfficeMax. Had some reg and LEs readily available, as expected.
Getting mine on whim last night was actually fun, driving by all the lines, seeing the fanfare without any real commitment. Just a short wait on the efficient Wal-Mart line, minor hiccup with that LE issue that was quickly taken care of.
Worth the limited sleep this one time to witness a truly mass-attended midnight launch in person.
