Took my friend to a midnight release at GameStop so he could get his legendary edition. There was probably about 75-100 people there. I didn't preorder so no copy for me. No big deal though, since I've still never finished Halo 2. :lol

went and picked up a copy tonight instead of waiting of newegg to deliver my copy later today. i got the limited edition and my bonus disc was loose and scratched up.
anyways i have no complaints about the game yet. graphics are decent, gameplay is great, thank you bungie!

Went I went to the midnight launch there were slightly over 100 people there. It went by fast though as the store opened at 12:00 and I had my game by 12:11.
Shame there doesn't seem to be a way to just join games in progress. I'd like to tool around and see what people are doing with Forge.

Just got back from GS. About 200 people waiting in line. For the people getting the LTD version, make sure you check the disk before leaving as there were a few disks scratched to hell.

I'm probably getting my Legendary edition next week and I wouldn't have time to play this week, but I'm still considering going to the launch party today. The promise of Nightwish (they are doing a simultaneous launch of their new CD) fans is hopefully enough to keep me away. I am a victim of teh hypez.

omg guess who's got halo after standing in line for half an hour with a bunch of weirdos. i'm not sure why i did the midnight thing, but i'm glad i decided to pick up the regular edition in person -- otherwise my present satisfaction would be replaced with irritation at getting a scratched up collectors' edition in the mail. that kind of thing can dampen your enjoyment of a game. CAN IT BE HALO TIEM NOW PLS
Just got back from the launch event at Best Buy in Bellevue, WA. Lots of bungie people where there, Luke included. Had some guy dressed like Master Chief was walking around. Got a free t-shirt and hat. Good times.

I'm having fun just browsing bungie.net looking at people's recent matches. I like how you can even look at the campaign games people play.

A few questions for the vets
Melee attacks: How do they work? I'm assuming different weapons have different damage, is this correct?
Do different weapons also have different ranges? I've been playing a lot of COD4, and that has a very noticable lunge when you knife someone, I repeatedly whiffed melee strikes, despite rushing in at close range while swinging (my opponents do not seem to have a similar problem)
Does hit location matter for melee damage? Rear hits deal more?
Am I missing something, or is dual wielding just pure rape at close/close-mid range? At mid and longer, I was vulnerable to either grenades or longer range weapons, but up close, decent dual wield combinations would tear me or my target apart.

I love people. So on my way back from watching my Saints look like crap again, I decided to see what the lines were looking like for Halo 3. Well the Gamestop near my house had probably a hundred people line wrapped around the building. So my thinking was fuck! screw it, theres no way I get one tonight. Then I realize the wal mart across the street, yet think to myself "they must not be doing the midnight thing since no one is even there." So I go inside and its around 11:50, head to the electronics section and there the lady has sitting there 50 plus copies of Halo and about 5 people waiting.
So I grabbed my copy left the store around 12:30 and watched as the idiots outside gamestop were still standing there hoping to get a copy. Sometimes I just dont think people are very smart.
