Holy Fuck!
That's alot of Halo

i need some TV advice QUICK guys!!!!!

fri i go in and check the price at best buy for the set i want. (1799.00 )

the weekend i gather all the money to cover it and have just enough for dinner and my halo 3 copy.

so today i go to buy the tv set and it's 1999.00

so now no HD unless i switch to a different samsung.

i was getting model # LNT4066f but now am considering LNT4065f

i can't seem to distiguish any difference in specs , anyone know why the 65 is 500 less??

quick i only have a couple hours!

should i just wait and play it on my projection sd set and wait a week till i get some more cash or best buy drops the price (why is it the only store carrying the 66 model anyway???)

i might have another prize courtesy of our site tomorrow/Gaia Industries

or maybe tonight, talking to Andrew at Gaia to try and get a few Street Trace codes

Not exactly.

Team Tactical
Don’t let the name fool you—this is a new and somewhat experimental playlist. The focus here is on gametypes which place a high premium on cold, calculated cunning, and careful play. This does not necessarily mean twitch reflexes or mad headshot skills. The basic gametype here is Eliminatio, so named because it’s not quite elimination. You will respawn, but rounds end at 5 kills, so you and your team cannot afford to blunder into a prepared ambush. Work together, and know every inch and every corner of your maps, or you won’t get far.

Typical Games: Eliminatio, Eliminatio Snipers

anyone notice something wrong?

Q: What sort of connection do I need to play Halo 3 online?

A: In general – the faster, the better. Video games use both downstream and upstream bandwidth, unlike web browsing, so some “fast connections” are bad for gaming. If you can get fiber optic cable run directly to your home, that’s ideal, if a little unusual. DSL is also good, but can be expensive. Cable modems can work well, but they sometimes have poor or variable upstream bandwidth. Xbox Live itself requires a broadband connection of some kind.

this is from Bungies networking guide.

are these dlp or lcd models, ill see what differences there are

OK, after watching two video reviews, I have to say Halo 3 looks pretty spectacular.

All these quips about "It's just Halo 2 in HD" had me worried. The game may not be up to Luke Smith's predictions of "You'll say Gears of What?" but it still looks good.

That said, I FINALLY preordered my copy at BB online, along with the 1600 LIVE points for $4.99. I'd have gone to the midnight launch but that's on the other side of town (I live right near a BB but hey, they're not doing it) and of course, that wouldn't have been a "preorder" so I suppose I'd have lost out on the points deal.

Looking forward to finishing the fight!

they are both 1080 lcd suppossed both ar 15000-1

on paper i can not see a noticable difference, i just know the 66 has an amazing picture.

and i can possible get a best buy employee discount if i do not rush but not sure what % off that would be.

Yeah, I'm intrigued. Sounds like in might involve a lot of hiding, which is one of my basic Halo skillz. :lol

I had not really played around with Team SWAT until today and now I'm really digging it. Hopefully this will fill that void.

The difference is probably only in the styling. Actually, type both the numbers in pricegrabber and you'll see that the 65 is more common... the 66 might be a brick-and-mortar only model.

**edit: holy shit, the new LN-T4081F is claiming 500,000:1 dynamic contrast due to LED backlighting:

I don't want to go too far off topic, but you should check out the AVS forums. Pretty much every HD issue has been discussed to death over there, and a lot of the folks know their stuff.

In other news, only about 8 hours to Halopalooza.

Speaking of connections, what's is the average internet connection speed in the US (and the highest?). Seems to be a common belief amongst all the Europeans I play with that American players generally have a slow connection.

(Also, it's hilarious listening to american's whine about us lagging them out when the guy on our team hosting has a 100mbit down and up connection).

No where near 100mbit up and down. Very few in the US have anywhere near to that.

i have 10mbps down and 1 mbps up, id say average broadband in the US is 2 to 3 mbps, mostly because DSL is still pretty popular here for whatever reason

Ball park? I got a 24 down 1 up, adn that's probably average for here (Sweden).

I tried finding a number on Wikipedia but no luck there..

Ok, that seems to be pretty close to the general belief, was just curious if it was a misconception or if there was truth behind it..

2-5megs up (average), maybe 1 down, perhaps closer to 500k. 24megs down is premium service here, like Fios, fiber to the premises, or really jacked up cable. Fios is really limited here in the US so far.
