This morning I met up with one of my friend's from the UK who I believe frequents this forum...at any rate, I played online coop with two of his buddies who also live on Her Majesty's island and the connection was almost entirely flawless. We played through my (soon to be everyone's) two favorite levels and then the last level in collection efforts and lag was practically nonexistent.

I also got a chance to play some matchmaking with Mr. NeXuSDK and that was also fun, despite being eviscerated on Last Resort with Shotty/Sniper, something that in my opinion comes up way too frequently alongside the beta maps in matchmaking currently. It's fun the first few times, but after a while, it becomes grating. Can't wait for you guys to join us online!

I can confirm it isn't.

The only remake is Zanzibar. There's Guardian, which is a Lockout inspired map but it does NOT have the same map layout.

I already have my Legendary Edition paid off so I'll be getting it officially tomorrow (not at the midnight release, just because I have to get up really early tomorrow and I have the works).

With that said, I guess it's really safe to confirm that Halo 3 definitely doesn't have any kind of host advantage that was so prevalent in Gears or any lack problems that Gears had?

Not that Halo 2 did, but it'd give me a really good comparison on Halo 3's overall stability in terms of lag - be it guest and host since I've played Gears more recently than I've played Halo 2 (I can't stand button glitches, and I will never use them just because of my hate for them).

Yes. On my first play through campaign, I only managed to find one skull and that was on the final level. However, they aren't activated the moment you pick them up. Finding them only enables you to turn them on later.

If there is any host advantage, it wasn't clear in the Beta. Which is awesome.

I have never played an online game with host advantage as bad as gears. You will be shocked by the lack of it in Halo 3.

gears is a bad multiplayer game with aweful netcode. dont compare any game to gears, ever when talking about multiplayer.

Just got back from Gamestop. Surprised myself when I heard the clerk tell me I preordered the Legendary edition so I was happy I made the right decision a few months ago. :lol Paid it off but he said there'll be a line at 9 to "cash out," at which point they'll simply highlight my receipt and I'll have to do at midnight is pick the game up. We'll see, though. I might just be lazy and pick it up during the day tomorrow.

While it's true that much of this thread has been inane talk, that largely has to do with the game not being out yet, and the people playing it now can't really get overly excited as they would make the wait harder for the rest of us.

Ooh I'd be one unhappy camper. Amazon is usually pretty good at getting stuff day and date I thought. I'd call customer service.
