Bug with the Elite model in split screen:

Played split screen and the framerate would drop. Switched back to Spartan model and it went away.

Sure, but that doesn't answer my question.

The general consensus (and this is coming from someone who hasn't played it) is that it retains the less repetitive (for the most part) and more varied level design of Halo 2 while going back to the more open enviroments of the first game, if that answers your question.

This is going to kill me. Unemployed, sitting at home, watching the clock tick onwards as I wait, wait, wait. It didn't bother me until today, but knowing it's just around the corner is driving me nuts.

At least you get to play it. Between work and college I won't be able to play this until the weekend. Still picking it up tonight though:lol

Aka a Halo fan's wet dream. ;)

True. Even though I didn't quit my job for Halo 3, it has worked out pretty well. Now if (mysterious gaming company x) would just call me back and give me the job I interviewed for, all will be well.

Much better answer than mine. Yes, backtracking is greatly reduced, and the environments are much more varied than Halo 1 or 2. They're aren't really bossfights like there were in 2. And the world is much more open than 2 was. Also, I think there's more vehicle parts in 3 than there are in 1 or 2. Overall, I'd say it took what each game did well, and since 1 did more things better than 2, it's more like Halo 1.

Right then, who's going to the launch event at the London IMAX at Waterloo tommorow? I am, I think some others here are (kroll?) Either PM me or just post and we'll discuss meetups or something at the event, we need to represent GAF and lay the smackdown upon the enemy.

The Adventures Of The Double B At The Double B (w/ Speacial Guest FRANKIE!!)

Here's what happened.

So I turn down 44th and approach Best Buy and first of all, this shit is RIDICULOUS. They've cordoned off the entire parking area on one side of the block for people waiting in line for the game, of which there were already about 20. Flanking that gated off zoo of fandom are a fleet of of Weirdowood Premiere lights (not on, of course) and a giant(ish) jumbotron. So, like, whoa, already.

Anyone who's been in that Best Buy, remember where the DVD new releases are? Flush against that outside window? Gone. Replaced with two gorgeous plasma screens, a lovely white couch, and two Bungineers playing HALO FUCKING 3.

(Guardian, by the way. How did it look? Uh, awesome, duh. Gorgeous colors, lovely lighting, and I didn't notice slowdown or jag-one, but I didn't really have a good view. Why?)

Because of the media frenzy. So there sits Frank, a mere twenty feet away, but the couch is facing the window so he can't see me if I yelped "Yo, FRANK, it's your main man BenjaminBirdie off GAF!" Do I go back outside and write him a note, like in Speed? Well, that option fritters away when suddenly the booming voice of Mjolnir Nelson fills the store (and the surrounds outside). He's going to be playing the Frankster in some one on one while this other lady from Xbox.com asks fans outside for questions.

Okay, great, I'll get to see Frank completely demolish Mjolnir, fun, but there's no way I'll be able to say hello to the guy. So I wait, and I watch, and they play, and Mjolnir gets stomped. Meanwhile, the CNBC crew has arrived and is making their way to the H3 enclave and I'm realizing that at least at this point in the day, our man Frank is Persona Non Benjamin.

Or...is he? What's this? He's removing his mike and heading out of the enclave, headed THIS WAY, in fact.

Has all the attention gone to his head? Does he have time for a lowly gaffer who has followed his exploits for oh so long? Let's ask my new friend, shall we?

"Hey, Halo 3 T-shirt That Frankie Absconded To The MS Trailer To Procure For Me After I Introduced Myself, what do you think?"
"I think he's fucking awesome, dude."

CONFIRMED: FRANKIE IS A PRINCE. AND HALO 3 WILL BE ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE.

can someone point me to a good (credible) article about Halo3 release about to break all sales records. I'm trying to explain to my office why they should all give a shit about tomorrow.

EDIT:500 server errors! Oh shit, its beginning sooner than expected.

I've already FILLED my Halo 3 download Queue with game types and saved films to download by browsing around bungie.net today.

When I pop in the game tonight I'm gonna have to let that stuff download for a while before I can even play :lol :lol :lol

It's all here.

I saw their guy at Best Buy, by the way. He's very short.

ok. You might remember here earlier asking how much bandwidth Xbox Live uses.

I borrowed my friend's 360. I played one game of Madden online and it used only 12 mb. holy shit.

Jesus christ, the hype is through the roof. CNBC is talking about Halo 3 every other damn hour and even had Dan Hsu among a panel of people talking about it while tracking MSFT and other gaming stocks.

Joke thread was a great ball of awesome and justice, please do it again the next time a Nintendo game gets 8.8ed or Sony does something dumb.

Cool story! Go take pics of Frankie!

Ok sorry to bring this up again but I'm unclear as to what happened. Is this recap right: after all the thread title changes tek deletes the thread. Makes new one with negative review and spoiler in the OP. Thread stays open for a while but admins aren't happy and remove him of his modship and combo it with a ban. Correct?

One of the more informative articles I've read this morning from the LA Times;

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-halo24sep24,0,4041277.story?coll=la-home-center

PR@CNN highlighting the 1.5 million pre-orders;

http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/prnewswire/AQM08224092007-1.htm

Or one of the many links under MS in Yahoo Finance.

I didn't think you could actually queue up stuff to download until you had activated the file share through H3? If not please direct me on how to do this.

Holy hell!! Shit just got insane!!!!!

http://www.cnbc.com/id/20955576/

"Tonight, the hype kicks into overdrive: 5th Ave. will be shut down from 45th to 44th because I hear Microsoft will be rolling military equipment and tanks down the road at around 1140p EDT. That's an interesting trick considering the other news happening in this town: Iran's president is here; President Bush arrives tomorrow; the UN is hosting a week's worth of events nearby. So while the military show of force might be unnerving for some, not to worry."

I believe he was demodded after he moved the original thread somewhere hidden, other admin played along with the gag untill it was back, because tak posted a spoiler in the remake of the thread he gets a month ban.
