I actually do think this has an effect on the game for many people and will hinder their enjoyment of online. It's nitpicking and probably had very little relevance in the weighing of the score.

I was actually thinking about that the other day...when you consider every 360 comes with a headset, and the fact that the somewhat lower price can attract the "jackass online" demographic (ie 12-16 yr olds), and the fact that pretty much everyone who owns a 360 will own Halo 3...it's going to be hell playing with strangers online.

But it's not like it's Halo 3s fault or anything, so hopefully that didn't factor in the review.

Same here, I finished campaign on normal last night and I'm patiently waiting for Matchmaking to come online. If it's not up tonight I might start the campaign on legendary.

Considering the scale, I would say it's best on the 360.

I'm not a graphics whore so it doesn't matter much to me but I figured I'd translate for GAF.

That said I've only had my 360 for two weeks but some of the stuff in Lost Planet has left me breathless.

In ranked games, voice chat is disabled between teams.

You can mute anyone that you find annoying. Probem solved. Crisis averted.

The Forge and the replay functionality raise the bar for console shooters so high, it may never be surpassed this generation. There will be plenty of aspects for fans to nitpick, but it's hard to argue against Halo 3 as the most complete game available on any console.

I did watch the first minute of the meta game scoring vid on 1UP and Sierra 117 looks fucking fantastical! Oh, and the objective pop up looks super cool.

Yeah, when I started the game I couldn't believe my eyes when I was in Sierra 117. The world is so full, unlike any other halo game. One thing about h3 is that the level design is much more varied, makes for a really enjoyable campaign.
