I think the Marathon helmet looks nerdy as hell, but not really in a bad way... It has a nifty 1950s retro sci-fi look to it. :D

I am not above spoiler tagging emblems. I do hope they fixed the bullshit all white nonsense from the beta. Not only did it blend in with the snow but it made telling whether or not a King of the Hill ring is active or not a pain.

Yeah, I made one of those. I like to be a little different from everyone else, but I think I might go a more conventional path for a while... We'll see.

Player Image Generator
Those of you who don't have the game and want to experiment with the different armor permutations, here's a nifty little program that lets you do just that. It's basically what you can do in Halo 3 in terms of customizing your Spartan. So you can keep yourself busy with that in wait of Halo 3.

--Needs .Net Framework 2.0, so if you don't have that you cand download it below.

I remember doing this for Halo 2 three years ago. I took a picture of master chief and photoshopped the different parts of his armor to different colors. I was pretty excited when I found out all of the pieces that I was changing around could change colors in Halo 3 :P
 
I was expecting a little more variety in the elite permutations. They all seem to have the same 'eyes'. Would like to have seen one with each 'eye' taking up the whole side of a head.
 
Oh, I can see how Bungie will make oodles of money with all the DLC they'll release for this game. Imagine how they'll say something like: "For 400 points, you get 40 new armor customizations!" 500,000 downloads later.....
 
Can someone tell me where I can find all the Halo 3 commercials in good video quality and the ability to embed them on your own site? I want to make a Halo thread on the forum of my hockey site, but I can't find a good source for all the commercials.

If you're looking to do that, I'm guessing YouTube is your best bet, unfortunately. :(

Maybe someone else knows of another place with an embed feature where you can find them all.

EDIT: Oooh. Use Gamersyde. I forgot they had an embed option.

Our videos can be embedded, I guess it's a better (quality) option than using Youtube.

I went to Gamersyde first, actually (it's my favorite!), but I only see the Believe commercial, not the other two ("Museum" and "Enemy Weapon"). Are they there somewhere and I'm just not finding them?

I played the game for 2 hours (available in many store in paris since friday) , its great , beside the letdown for the graphical part ( so far from renders and overall far from looking like the best xbox title, i really was hoping at least for a cristal clean game) , the game is really fun fun fun....
Gonna play again later today , cant wait already
 
So I just found out that the radio DJ I listen to almost every morning is the voice of fucking Master Chief! and googling him for some interviews brought me to Buttonbasher's blog of all places.

I'm gonna call in on Monday, see if I can't get a few moments to speak with him. I think my chances will be better if I had a song to request that fit thematically in the Halo universe.

It's a classic rock station that plays a lot of Bob Dylan and The Doors, any suggestions?

"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" might be a good one if the Chief dies. But I don't want to squeeze any spoilers out of him, mostly I just want to tell him how much a fan I am.

Maybe I'll get him to say that he "needs a weapon" on air. That'd be good enough for me.

edit: "The End" by The Doors might be a good one too
 
So I got to uni yesterday, and my internet connection is less than useful, and gives me a moderate NAT on Live, which stops me from playing Halo 3 online :(. I'm going to try to sort the problem out on Monday, attacking the IT department's weakpoints for massive damage, but for me, this is terrible news as I hardly turn my 360 on when I don't have Live. It's probably equal in the pain factor as having a RROD.

Moderate NAT should get you into a decent about of games, just expect drop out in partys :D
