Wow - I just watched the "Enemy Weapon" and the "Hunted" Believe ads - powerful, moving stuff right there... and again, I'm so glad that Bungie is doing something new with the ads instead of the usual 30 seconds of gameplay compilations with no direction...

Very cool, and it hasn't sunk in to me how huge uploading screenshots from any angle of Campaign or MP until now, seeing as a regular forumer like yourself just made one and uploaded it like nothing, without having to do something like taking an off-screen pic of your TV like in the past...

And soon, all of us will be able to do it as well.. :D

Quality and detail is great as well too...

Ugh. Playing on Legendary your teammate AI is brutally fustrating. It is almost as they are getting back at you for all those years of deserting them.

Do you guys really think that since reviewers praised Bioshock with 10s, etc, that Halo 3 will be reviewed more harshly? I mean gamespot gave h2 a 9.4, seems only logical that Halo 3 will rate higher than that, given that its almost unanimously expected to be a huge step up, in nearly every aspect.

Halo 3 could be better than both Halo CE and Halo 2 and it would still get lower review scores. That's not because it's not as good, but because it's Halo. If you wiped the memory of all previous halo's from everyones mind, Halo 3 would probably be 10s across the board. But there is just as much Halo apathy as much as Halo love out there, especially in the gaming media. I know some people reviewing the game that just are MEH on Halo as a whole. This game needs to WOW people to get 10s.

Edge giving it a 7 is possible. THERE, I SAID IT.

Ah, screw me. Sorry, I've just got the body and the shoulder pads. My mistake.

Ok, I've read all about the new bungie.net as it has been released.
I knew everything to expect.

But seeing it and browsing it is a whole other experience... It is nothing short of amazing.
I am really impressed, and just thinking about how far gaming has come is really exciting to me. BRAVO!

This is something new and different, and I really really really like it.

So the big question is: Is Legendary easier than in Halo 2?

Legendary in Halo 1 was the perfect difficulty. In Halo 2, I couldn't even make it past the first level.

I hope they toned it down a little for Halo 3.

yeah, that's something i'd really like to know.

I like a challenge, but when 100% accurate snipers (like hundreds of them) can take you out on their first try, things start becoming a little frustrating. It happened a lot in halo 2.

On the other hand, though, 4 player coop could end up being a walk in the park even in legendary.

And one more thing, do marines still die as quickly as before ? I don't mind their AI being the same, i just wish they could survive a few more hits. Having marines running around and fighting was cool, but even in heroic they would just die as soon as an enemy appeared on screen.

So, I know I'm not helping you guys by posting this, but I just had to share.

So, as you probably know by now, we got our copies of the game on Thursday. I played all that night, and even left work a little early on Friday (shhhh, don't tell anyone) to come home and play last night.

This morning, my eyes popped open at 6:30 AM, and I was as giddy as a school boy to keep playing. I crept out of bed, turned on the 360, slipped on my headphones, and continued playing until my wife woke up 2 hours later.

Seriously, it was like Christmas morning. I couldn't sleep, and all I could think about was playing more Halo 3. :)

I can't wait for you all to play it for yourselves.

It must feel good to be "finished" - well, in the sense of having the game out there in stores... good stuff...

And congrats in advance on the game dude!

And no, it did not help when you posted that, as I remain as hyped and impatient as I was before... :lol

I know that feeling :)

My hype-o-meter shot through the roof a couple of days ago and it's now in orbit. Holy shit flinging monkey fucks I'm excited! I will have a hard time getting to sleep on Tuesday (we get the game on Wednesday)!

We're bringing matchmaking up closer to release, my bad. We don't want the ranking system to penalize players for colliding too frequently with the same folks in a low-population environment.

Good call - even if I had the game right now, it would be a bit of unfair leveling up...

Yeah, the head is the tough part :D
1000/1000 confirmed, lol. I'm only at 650 now. And I haven't even started on the meta games.

How does collecting skulls work in co-op? Can it be done? Does just one person need to pick it up (like COG tags i Gears of War) or does everyone need to pick it up?
Luke? Anyone?

I'm not sure for the non-achievement skulls, but I know for sure that when one player picks up an achievement skull, it unlocks the achievement and option for every player in the game. I played a 3-player co-op game the other night and we noticed it. Only one person had to pick up the skull. But, since the non-achievement skulls don't pop that achievement up, we all picked it up to be sure that we got it - but I'd assume it'd be the same way.

And as far as campaign scoring, I haven't tried it yet.

Yeah. Didn't really want to see that. Spoiler warning?
It's been said tons of times here that b.net isn't safe anymore. And you guys knew I had the game. Sorry, I still probably should have said something.

EDIT: just noticed I wasn't even the one that linked it, so nvm. Sorry anyway.

So now Bnets up what are the safe and unsafe areas if I want to poke around all the new Bnet online features?

Just don't go into individual profiles. Screenshots in the public shared media area are safe, they say "spoiler" instead showing the screenshot until you click on it to see the detailed view of the shot.

Nah I now it's not your fault. Just kinda sucks that your profile main page picture is presumably that far into the game.

I'm not clicking Bungie Links anymore.

If it's any consolation, it's not near the end of the game. It's actually at a place that most people won't even go. Sort of. Anyway, it's not as big of a deal as it looks.

The Online Home isn't safe, it has a campaign ticker that shows unrevealed enemies and levels (up to and including the final one), and neither are any of the game listings. Beware.

Thanks, then I can scour the map for skulls with my friends :D

Thanks I'll just limit myself to this thread completely now.

Enjoying some of the MP screens, is their any popular shared game types and maps up their any descriptions?

Cool.

*sigh of relief*

It's not your fault, anyway. :D

This is fucking cruel. It seems like half the fucking world has the game early. Typical how my area had to have moderately competent people selling the game, and received stock relatively late.

Just half of GAF.

And believe me, GAF is not representative of the real world.

Amazing the amount of people who manage to snag a copy after the pirated version goes up and the retailers tighten their rules due to leaks.
You need me to take a pic of the game? Or just add me to your friends list so you can see when I play it. Tag is Wellie.
