Go tell the guys on AVS forums who will get frothy and excited about it. Hate for bose speakers is ridiculously exaggerated. They produce a perfectly good sound, but are overpriced. But to read about it on the internets you'd think they were Hitler Cubes.

Psst... I work at a Bose store and I agree... = p

Blockbuster doesn't rent systems anymore in Canada. I don't know about Rogers.

I don't know how anyone could do that. I am not playing with anyone until I finish the campaign myself.

>.> I haven't played campaign alone... does that make me a bad person?

**Edit**

We had an unspoken agreement that was as follows:

1. Cut during a cutscene or other important things and I'll sick a rabid deer on you while you sleep.
2. I always drive the Warthog

Hmm I'm thinking of doing a Friends marathon, as in watching all the episodes. It'll kill some time at least, but it's probably an awful idea:lol. Or I could buy Halo 2 and play a ton of that. Come on Wednesday! Argh...

DON'T GO TO GAMETRAILERS! SPOILERS! (again)

I made a habit the past few days of not looking at the upper right corner of my screen when visiting that site. About an hour ago, I left my guard down while I was thinking about something and saw the spoiler. I am at the point where I feel indifferent to the story now. Even if you haven't been spoiled outright yet, then
you should have been spoiled indirectly in the previous XBL name spoiler warning thread.
You're screwed either way.

I have a packed weekend.

U of Houston versus Colorado State tomorrow, Texans versus Colts Sunday to make Luke cry, and then work Monday. Hopefully Newegg doesn't screw me and I get the LE on Tuesday morning and not Wednesday. If the game has not shipped by Monday evening, I will get the game at midnight and send back my Newegg copy.

Already having the game makes you a bad person to me ;>

I've been recieving hate messages on XBL from my friends. They must think I'm a bad person too :lol

Friends? Pssh, how about Futurama? Refresh yourself with the series before the new season comes out in January

Question. Can anyone tell me how the equipment "personal shield" is? How effective it is? How long it lasts? Usefulness? I have not heard anything on it. Only the pic from that famitsu scan back a few months.

T_T work distracted me. . .

You may win this round, but I challenge you to a duel :| 20,000th post. Right here, Whenever it happens. >:O

Place bets now people.

Im sure the 20,000th will come before release, but if it doesn't... I will concede my loss to the 20,000th post cause I will be playing Halo 3. :D

Erm, I don't know the correct terms I should be using but here is a go at it:
They are the sheilds from Halo 1 and 2 that glow blue. You can drop it anywhere and it will pop up. It takes 3-4 melee hits for you to break it down (It also changes colors as you hit it.) Brutes can melee it down in one hit. It blocks shots. You can shoot the spiker through it.It will last forever as long as it doesn't take any damage. You cannot move it once it's placed.

It's pretty useful, I've hidden behind it's delicious glow many a time to reload and recharge my shield, and it can take quite a bit of damage.

Enemies cannot simply walk through the personal shield.

Is the bubble shield being left as a non moving generator instead of the red ball? not that i'm going to complain but it would be a nice suprise if both were optional for forge deployment.

Ah, I see. I was hoping it would be like Resistance where you could fire through your own shield, but that works fine as well.

Can't believe this thread is past 15,000 posts. It's gonna beat the Beta thread pretty soon.

I've been calling 20,000 before launch ever since the beginning of the thread. I still stand by that prediction. (Reviews and the last Weekly Update make it an inevitability at this point.)

I don't think I recall seeing a moving one in Forge or Campaign. :(

Just went out and fully paid off Legendary and the guide at Gamestop. Guy said they're getting in all kinds of crazy Halo shit to sell that night, and he was rattling off shit like pins, magnets, belts (!?), wallets, shirts, and on and on. :lol

Also finally picked up the graphic novel and Ghosts of Onyx. Re-read Fall of Reach which only took me like 2 hours since it's such easy reading, and I had to re-pick up a copy of Halo 1 at Best Buy for $10 since my disc has mysteriously disappeared. It's funny, even though the game has very visibly aged, it's still a lot of fun. Will then re-read First Strike (?), then go through Halo 2 for only the 2nd time ever, then read the graphic novel and Ghosts of Onyx, so I'll be all ready to go. I'm such a dork :( I've completely abandoned any hopes of finishing FFXII before Halo, it'll just have to wait a couple months.

In the first multiplayer Vidoc the bubble shield was a power drainer-style ball that was orange, and it was rolling down a slope in one scene.

That was the first multiplayer Vidoc from awhile ago, but I do remember that :)

Oh, on a sidenote, Valhalla has changed a bit... For the better? Who knows.

*Edit*

Snowbound looks the same. There might be some visual differences but barely any or none.

High ground is exactly the same or changed in some miniscule way that I cannot see.

In addition to dudes not being able to simply walk through it -- the personal shield also allows players to fire from inside of it, while repelling fire from the outside. A significant amount of damage will offline the shield, but a short while later it will pop back up again.

At first blush, folks wonder how it's different than the Bubble Shield, but Deployable Cover is vastly different and definitely has its uses.

So it is like the Resistance shield? Excellent.

Look out past the ocean. High Ground now has little islands and trees in the background. In the beta it was just plain land and sea.

Also, what exactly is different about Vahalla?

How has Valhalla Changed?

The Spawnpoints of both teams have been massively lowered. In the beta some of the spawn points were atop ledges to the side of the bases. They are now low to the ground.

Also, you cannot jump out of the map either :( They've added a bouncy barrier to keep any and all things inside.

I really miss the old Valhalla. My sniping was crippled before but now it's even more so.

so, it can be taken down, but pops back up... indefinitely? does the equipment respawn in mp, and if so, can you therefore have multiple shields throughout a match?

Actually, I like it this way much better. I hated those spots. Not to hurt your feelings or anything buddy :(

Say what?!

I knew a new season was coming, I just had no idea it was that soon.

Awesome. :D

;_; I loved my little base in the mountains. Goodtimes, goodtimes. We would setup camp and toast marshmellows and put tripmines on the rocks below us :(

The wait has about killed me. The license they have with Cartoon Network / Adult Swim prevents them from showing it on TV until the license has expired.

are you sure the spawn points arent the same outside the base if the other team is camping your base? it always seemed good about spawning your team inside the base at the start of the match, its only if enemies are inside or near the base that you'd spawn further away...

and no more sniper positions in the cliffs alongside each base? awesome. that was my one beef with the map in the beta

:lol

So I guess you were the guy that always rode the Ghost up the walls in Coagulation to get to those extremely cheap sniper spots?
