Sounds to me like you're going to turn the game on, and immediately look for jaggies. If you find them (which you will) and the game is not up to your standard, you'll be disappointed and upset right from the start.
Don't be that guy. Don't be a graphics whore. I don't say this for my sake, but for your enjoyment of the game. It has so much more to offer.

Some people are using older plasmas which tend to heat up the light source more than other TVs and when HD stuff has a preponderance of blues in it, like Halo 3 apparantly it seems, you get jaggies.rebel^pudding said:

Damn, my local shop gets their shipment in tomorrow. So close.
(I loved how the clerk believes the release date for Halo 3 to be tomorrow despite a huge row of display cases out of his line of sight with "26 September" marked on them.)

Me : "YOU have Halo 3"
Him : "Yes"
About a 5 second pause.
Me : So if I come there right now, I can buy it.
Him : No.
Me: Why not?
Him: It doesn't come out till next week.
Me : Is there any way I can get it today?

Just because they have a game in stock, don't mean they are allowed to or can sell it early. In the UK, Argos messed up, according to a manager, they have suspicions someone working on the database put it up so their friend could buy it early.
Shops will be getting Halo in this week but unless they want to get in trouble with MS and whoever, they can't sell it.
He was right to tell you he has it in the shop, but he's a bit of an asshole for leading you on. Must have not been the only one calling.

Retailers commonly get big games ahead of their street date. The street date is the date that EVERY store should have it and, thus, the day that, in the fairness of competition, they are allowed to sell it. (This is all the day all the marketing is focused on.)
