Just playing Halo 1 and Cortana mentions something quite interesting. Why is there a control room located in a shrine? If you're developing these Halos to destroy all sentient life in the galaxy, why bother with the Earth like habit and the shrine for the control center.

Tell them I'm staying out of the thread. Don't want any spoilers. I decided to play this way so I could go through the story and have something for the review. I'll start on Legendary tommorrow. You guys are in for a fucking treat.

dude there aren't any spoilers unless you think no grunts get shot. And yeah the pics look like complete shit. Most likely his tv more than anything but still. Last halo game and there are saws on the edge of everything.

I looked, no spoilers, and they look like ass because the person who took the shots has a crappy setup, methinks.

yeah totally trying to troll seeing I bought a Halo console, paid off the legendary edition, and bought a CE from newegg. I so hate halo. Mem-bah
 
Do not, and I mean DO NOT play on Normal first because you just want the story handed to you.

It's so much more satisfying, even the story, on Heroic or Legendary...

It'll give you better time to consume all the awesomeness :)

Those were some of the worst captures I've seen. Very washed out, terrible shots. We've seen a LOT of gameplay footage, being played on TV (from blim's video in the OP) as well as lots of other pics in this thread. He just took terrible captures.

How does Legendary work on coop? Do you restart if a teammate dies? I'm trying to figure out what difficulty me and my buds should play it on the first time. Would Heroid be too easy?

He's basically our living, breathing, walking Halo story bible. But he bailed out when Halo 3 got leaked. Very hardcore halo fan.

He used to run the Halo 3 Data Archive, he's a very hardcore Halo fan, and he posts here. And he's a friend of mine, so I'm obligated to give him copious volumes of shit for doing Normal. It is a moral imperative.
 
Someone on my friends list just got Halo 3 at Toys 'R' Us.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

I'm asking him for the location now.

My friend got a copy of Halo 3 at Argos (UK) this morning, and all I will say is:

Oh my fucking god.

Just to clarify that this is not some knee-jerk hyperbole through rose tinted glasses; I'm serious Halo 3 is utterly astonishing.
