The Official Halo 3 Thread

Another one thats waiting. Really want to find 3 friends to play co-op with and have all of us cut-off playing at the same time. So we all pick back up the next day/night to finish the campaign. I can't wait...

friend who works at walmart just got their shipment, hell try to sell me a copy tonight when no one is around.

Did anyone else preorder from Liongames? I'm wondering if I should just buy the game at midnight on Monday and then just return the copy from Liongames in its place... apparently I won't receive it until Thursday probably, and that would suck.

Just a thump? More like a dropkick......but I'm kinda looking forward to that experience of a midnight opening. The drive to the store, knots in my stomach, grabbing my copy and holding it up to the gods, then driving home with huge fucking knots in my stomach. Then the scramble from the car to the front door, I trip, game case goes flying towards sewer drain, but I make an all-star dive to save it. Crisis averted. Run inside, furiously rip off plastic non-sense and pop in the disc. That boot-up screen will seem so god damn slow.........

Remember someone telling a story that they opening a box of Halo 3 copies and tried getting them to ring it up at Walmart and the register spit a "Restricted" code up or something. Good luck though.
 
Just spoke with CoCo at newegg and I will be basking in Halo 3 tomorrow:

CoCo: The item has been scanned and packaged through our warehouse, and is awaiting shipment. Once the item has been shipped out, you will receive an email with the Tracking Number which will be by the end of today.

Apparently, you must have placed an order by Noon PST to have it ship today, they do not ship at Noon. Noon is just their shipping cutoff since they actually ship at 4pm PST.

no kiddin. jez people, cancel if you cant afford to have the funds tied up. hold out if you can. pretty simple. i for one still think the orders will either be held or canceled, but there is no sense in calling/emailing newegg about it.

I did, but my friend wants me to pick him up a copy, so I'll simply sell the one I get later and still keep the savings. Win-win. :D
 
someone needs to ask newegg if UPS/FedEx will hold the game until street date or if they will actually deliver the game by tomorrow

They won't know what is inside the box. As long as Newegg ships it, they will deliver (literally).

Shhh....I'm trying to downplay my pain (you can't show emotion, they thrive on it!:lol ). I'm with you though. I'll be gawking at my LE box at every stoplight/traffic-less area all the way home. Caressing is a high possibility too. Hell, I might even buckle the damn thing in just so it knows I love it. :P

Edit: That loading screen better be faster than the Crackdown shit you had to watch in order to play the beta.

I might just take my wife's truck with the baby seat in the back so I can buckle in my copy. Better safe than sorry!
 
Can I make a new thread about the intro video? I believe there are some gaffers who is not into halo but should get to see it anyways. I haven't see the vid myself but is willing to share.

For the people trying to get their hands on Halo 3 early:

Is there a way around the live account ban for playing Halo 3 before launch? Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems like it would be better to wait the week than have your account permabanned.

You will not get banned. You won't get banned. Only MS employees will. You won't get banned. Not banning people. It won't happen. Not getting banned. If you get it early they won't ban you.

So which people are going to those launch events in their respective cities? I was wondering if any gaffers are gonna be at the Miami event. Joey Porter will be signing autographs, you can't beat that.

I might drop by the Times Square Best Buy locale, but my pre-oh is at the GameStop under Rockafella (y'all). I don't know how friendly I'll be in my movable ANTI-SPOILICH sensorary deprivation machine, though.
