Right. I'd have two CE copies on the way if it didn't sell out just as I was placing my order, but the way I saw it was if the "1-2 Days" for processing turned out to be 2, it wasn't worth it becuase the difference between Monday at 3 and Monday at Midnight isn't much of anything.

Something about Halo brings people of all sorts out of the woodwork. The Halo 3 EGM cover was leaked straight from the printer (one of, if not the, first times that's happened to them). Witness all the thrash around trying to get copies early and such. Spoilers are a big deal because Bungie has taken such care to keep the story under tight wraps - we know almost nothing about what happens in the narrative.

Take a high level of anticipation for millions of people and add in the high level of secrecy, and the douchebags are out in full force. See also: Harry Potter. Nothing new here really. It happened in Halo 2 as well.

From the sounds of it, neither of them are sending them early. All they're doing is getting them all picked and packed and read for dispatch next week.

Why bail out? Just call tomorrow and ask if it has shipped. If not, then cancel if you are inclined. Sites rarely update like you think they should.

No, I would have loved to have looked forward to the launch event and played it then. Like I said before, I'm only trying to get this ahead of time because of the spoilers. Had I been guaranteed a spoiler free existence till the completion of the campaign, I would have gladly waited.

I wouldn't take it if given that chance to take it early...

I got the BETA through the friends & family deal before all my other buddies on XBOX Live... trust me it sucked having to watch them in Halo 2 or some other 360 game while I played the BETA before those with keys and crackdown did.

It ruined the experience of enjoying it together for the first time, thus why even if given a chance to play Halo 3 with a copy before hand I would pass. Want to savor the moment for when I can enjoy with my buddies on XBOX Live and at the LAN Party next saturday night

I was listening to the radio this morning, and a radio station that plays light rock and oldies was talking about the upcoming Halo 3 release. I doubled checked to see if it was the right station. Is this release event going to be bigger than Halo 2? It seems from all the early sales, this will not reach Halo 2-type sales. But it feels like the hype is even bigger. And it makes me want to buy a 360 with Halo 3 next week.

Believe me, I am afraid of a Harry Potter situation as well. But I'm willing to risk it. I had some of Halo 2 spoiled for me before hand and it sucked, but I didn't enjoy the game any less.

Hopefully I can cover my ears in time if it sounds like someone is going to shout one out.
