yeh i know i was debating it while driving there but i figured what the hell. i would have spent 200 dollars on this game if that was the cost so upgrading to have better boxart is definitely worth it.

In a statement, Argos officials blamed the foul up on "a genuine administrative error" and said only a "small number" of Halo 3 copies were sold.

That may not be good enough for Microsoft officials, who are no doubt apoplectic. The company has spent millions on a high profile Halo 3 marketing campaign that will culminate with elaborate launch events in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Seattle next week.

Argos may already be feeling retribution from the software maker. A check Wednesday afternoon revealed that the merchant's Web site is no longer able to accept pre-orders for Halo 3. To date, retailers around the world have taken more than one million pre-orders for the game -- an industry record.

They don't flaunt the fries like they should. I mean I don't give a fuck about wings, but those fries, jesus christ. You can see them season them in the back room. They just put like a ton of fries in a bowl, and then dump all this salt, sugar, and pepper all over them, and shake the bowl a shitload. I think there's some other shit to help season too.

I can't confirm this is true, but I read about this gameplay scenario over at SA (might have been here, let me know if it's been mentioned already)

This isn't a story spoiler, but will definitely spoil the novelty of this gameplay encounter (nothing to do with any new enemies or anything), so only highlight if you don't mind knowing that kind of thing.

At some point in the game, and it sounds like it may happen near the end, so stop reading if you don't want to know, last chance- apparently there's a part where you are given a shit ton of weapons, and wave after wave of grunts are let loose on you. I don't even remember where I read it, but the guy seemed to imply that the number of grunts was in the hundreds. Think about that, 4 players just letting loose on a barrage of grunts. God I want to play it.
 
I'd had Halo 3 regular sitting in my cart at NewEgg for about an hour while ruminating, and I just went to buy it and I got this:

Yeah, my friend just tried to order the regular version and it is now out of stock like the LE.
 
Ok I borrowed a 360 from my mate and he borrowed my Wii.

Should I just buy Halo 3 and then just sell for half price it when I'm done (he won't play it anyway)?
 
My bet is that you guys won't get your New Egg games until launch date. No way would that have recieved as many requests for copies as they have done without realising something is up.

So here's a question. I want to log onto XBL to get some Arcade games, how do I do so without seeing teh spoilarz if I happened to be so lucky as to been sent them?

I woke up and read on HBO that Microsoft was banning everyone who played Halo 3 early. Even if you just logged on for a second. :lol I had a mini-panic attack. And then it was edited to say that it was just MS employees.

Here's something cool: my achievements aren't showing up online. It shows that I have gotten them, but it won't add them to my gamerscore or tell what they are, on xbox.com, at least. Pretty cool - they're hiding it till the 25th, I bet, so people don't read xbox.com and learn stuff they don't want to know.

When I gave the Newegg chick my order # she confirmed that it was waiting to go out. I guess we have to wait and see.

Dirtbag - I would call them and put a rush on your order ($2.99). They only have like 20 minutes to get your stuff ready if they ship at noon.

Yeah, it's been like for a while. I can see them on my box, though.

The achievements are really good. Unlike a lot of shooters, they're actually... umm... achievable. :lol

Selling out super fast of something isn't all that rare at newegg. See: Most video card launches. I still remember trying to get my 9700 pro from them way back when. It was gone almost instantly.
 
Why in the hell does Newegg have this 5 part process if they are not going to update it? When I spoke with their online rep he said that it was already packed and scanned, ready to ship. But the web page still says step 3. ARGGGHHHHHHH
