NON-story-related general impressions (spoiler-tagging for the sensitive):
The Opening is badass.
The music is superb.
Heroic is proving a bit more tough than I thought it would be. Vyse am weak-sauce confirmed. Coming off the extremely easy Bioshock, however, it is a welcome change of pace.
Enemy AI is super smart (duh!). Watching them deploy bubble shields throws me for a loop every time.
Outside of campaign stuff, I've only looked at Forge on High Ground. Forge, alone, is the reason I'd give this game a OMGAH/10. The interface is very simple, but intuitive.
Man, oh, man, do I wish there was a Forge option for campaign. I'm sure there's a big technical hurdle for it, though. (messing up event triggers, plus the file size for custom campaign maps).
I will answer NON-story-related questions.
Also, for those asking me where I got the game. It was a mom and pop store in the Bronx called Mobile World, I believe (might be Zone). It was completely by luck that I decided to check them out today. After I walked in, they told me they were expecting the shipment today, and so, I hung around awhile. When it came, they first counted out how many they received (they had to satisfy pre-orders, and I did not have one). Luckily, they had a handful of extras. As of the time I am posting this, they are sold out, sadly. I tried to snag one for my good friend, SnakeXs, but no dice. =/
However, for those in the NY area, I know of other stores that will have it this week (most likely Friday). One being J&L Game Trading in Chinatown. Keep the hope alive!
Thanks. Which version did you get and will you be posting pictures of your purchase. I like looking at pretty pictures of boxes... I'm sad like that.
