Just a heads up: The marketplace blade theme has changed from Family Guy to Halo 3.

They just photo shopped Halo 3 Chief onto a picture of Desolation from Halo 2. :lol
Wow. That is. Wait, wouldn't that require more work then taking a pic ingame? or something...?

I still think I got spoiled sadly. If what I heard is true, get ready to be
majorly disappointed

Meh, highly unlikely for me.

It was used yesterday, but your wording has brought it back:

Im on full lockdown for campaign spoilers, but multiplayer I dont consider the same.

If anyone can post links to all the map walkthroughs on youtube that would be ace (spoilertaged for those who want the surprise)

The last thing I am going to do is try to do it myself, typing Halo 3 in YouTube not a good thing.

Has anyone been spoiled by youtube comments or sidebar related videos?
I won't even visit youtube right now because of that.

What the fuck...

I'm very impressed with the stuff Bungie is doing on B.net. They've addressed every complaint I had about stat-tracking in Halo 2 and made it better than my dreams.

I haven't been visiting YouTube either in fear of spoilers. ;o

Anyway, only a week to go now. Halo 3, the Messiah of all video-games, will be released in 7 days! That, my friends, is incredible. The long wait is almost over... :)

Oh Mark V, you are so mine.

Stinkles or Luke, can you give SOME kind of little hint as to how many kills it's going to take to obtain that? Anything? Please?!
1000 Pistol Headshots.

*ding-ding* Having teammates squabble over weapons or act like idiots in a team based game because they're trying to get achievements is annoying. It seems like a few games these days are moving away from achievements of this type. I think all of the CoD4 achievements are single-player based. Makes sense to me.
Maybe get better friends?

And why can't the ones such as "Melee 5 enemies", "Killing Spree", "Double Kill", "Triple Kill" and "Overkill" be in any ranked playlist? Those aren't weapon specific and there are a couple achievements that aren't FFA only but just ranked playlist

Hey, i mentioned it about ten pages back! :lol

Anyway, whatever he's playing, i hope to god he doesn't have any lines about the Gweat Journey, or whatever.

I like my friends just fine, thanks. I just don't always play with a full party of people that I know. I can see your point to some extent, but I just feel like whenever you have achievements that are obtainable through team-based games, you're going to end up playing with or against groups of people that are there specifically to earn achievement points and not to play the game.

Yeah, they've mentioned ensuring their achievements don't interfere with normal play, so it makes sense that they're not for team based playlists. If they were available in team play they would often encourage individual behaviour detrimental to the team as a whole - this is the kind of interference Bungie are trying to avoid causing with their achievements.

First time I have seen this artwork (it's in the Halo 3 media kit I have)

Anybody else see this before? I think it's great :)

I agree - awesome artwork. :) I would *love* to get my hands on a Halo 3 -themed, actual wall-paper that I could hang on my room.

About the Team Fortress-sticky.

Heh.

This thread now has more than 10 times as many replies.

The purpose of sticking a thread is to make sure other threads about the same game aren't created. Seeing how this thread is not ever off the first page, it really doesn't need a sticky. That is how I see it anyway.

Yeah, of course. Just pointing out that this thread is too awesome to be stickied. :>

And, the Team Fortress 2 thread is likely stickied because it's now playable as a demo on PC (I think). I'm sure when Halo 3 is released it will move to the sticky zones as well. No reason to worry about it though.

In the meantime, go read the second part of Tyson Green's Forge Super Guide

I wonder if we will get the H2 game viewer in campaign games too? That would up the sexiness even more.
From here:
Unfortunately, there’s no campaign ‘Game Viewer’ per say. We track a lot of stuff, but not enough required to do a good job of recreating that. That said… saved films, film clips and shared files are an excellent way to re-live your campaign experience. And if you share a file or take a screenshot associated to a campaign game it will be listed and available for anyone to view/download right next to the campaign stats.

I can agree with that, it ruined Gears of War for me. But playing against people trying to get achievements isn't bad, seing as it usually means an easy win. But having a guy on my team trying to get a triple kill I don't see how that will ruin anything, as compared to people rushing to get a certain weapon as in Gears of War.

I'm just saying if you're going to have some achievements in ranked playlist and then some in ranked free for all, put the weapon specific ones (e.g 5 kills with needler, triple kill with sword) in free for all, and the non weapon specific ones (e.g 5 melee kills, killing spree etc) in any ranked playlist.

Having ranked matchmaking also makes it hard too boost achievements, seeing as they can't get friends on the other team to let them kill them, or play with friends in ranked FFA.

But it's a good thing that there are few online achievements, and most of them aren't too hard. The only hard one looks to be the Overkill..

will this be fix?

First, the bad news. That option at the top, the one called “Allow Editing”? In theory, this option would let you restrict editing to the Party Leader, and prevent everyone else from editing. In practice, ah… ahem… well, not so much. That’s what we call a “feature”. It’s like how sometimes, when a plane lands, the tires blow up. Halo 3 is that plane. This was one of those tires.
