How many casualties (spoiled people) were there? We should take a minute of silence to remember the fallen. That really sucks. :(

just logged on to catch up and now Im not going back any pages.

Holly shit guys that sucks I can just imagine the gut bustingness of some douche just posting up a spoiler in the middle.

Killing the third and fourth big daddies back to back kinda killed any suspense the game had. Now it just feels like a campy shooter.

I'll tell you more about the game, but first I need you to bring me: Chewing gum, Three Cans of Coke and a Red Rose.
 
At first I was thinking that this thread had no probs hitting 100 pages by release...but now with spoilers being a real threat, I don't think so.

I think I'm gonna stay away from this thread, as well. If there isn't much as far as new media is concerned, until the game releases, there isn't much point. Though I did like that Forge interview Luke linked to, that was great.

There's a LOT of stuff coming this week, both from Bungie.net and from various other places on the Internet and Internet-related technologies.

Found a vending machine for the soda, except I left all my spare change in my other pants which are, it turns out, at the dry cleaners, but they are closed at the moment so I'll need to find the boost ball upgrade to get inside.

MaxConsole is reporting, that some nowegian store (Wollan, fess up!) broke the street date on Halo3. It will be interesting to see, if others follow suite...

It's covered earlier in this thread. They sold eight copies actually total in two different cities.
The Youtube ending spoiler (at least one of them) came from one of those buyers as well.
Two of the copies were put up on sale on a local website and the store bought back both of them.
 
i just talked to someone (german press) who finished the campaign (NO SPOILERS!):

-no texture pop-ins
-no tearing
-no repeating levels
-took him 9 hours on normal
-he loves it

I blazed through first levels of Halo 2 on normal, had to put it on heroic which took me much longer. What do you think his skill is?

he is a skilled player, but he hadnt that much time. he thinks on heroic you will need more than 12 hours to finish the fight.

edit: he also played through halo 2 on normal in about 9 hours.

he also said there is a lot of replay-value.

Well, it also depends on wether you're playing alone or in co-op, and how many in co-op.

There's a lot of factors here...

Alone on Legendary should give you a nice, long run...

Oh and tell him not to violate his NDA ;)
 
So some jackass spoiled the game here? Did mods already clean up the mess or not? I want to see which dumbass did it...
 
A different thread altogether. 'Store x selling Halo 3 early!!!' and there was descriptions in bold and pics of the ending awaiting apparantly. The mods have seemingly deleted it from the face of the earth and obviously poster has been dealt with.
 
One question, will the difficulty in co-op be any different than in solo? Was reeading Gamespots co-op hands-on and they mentioned co-op being more difficult, but they also said that the drones were a new enemy for the series so I'm taking it with a grain of salt..

I'm talking about straight up co-op, no skulls or anything. Is co-op Legendary the same difficulty as solo Legendary (as in, same amount of enemies, rank of enemies etc).
 
Wow. Apparently, watching that movie was a good idea.

Well, great. The one forum I felt safe in got attacked. Time for bailing out, I suppose. I'll just stick on IRC for the next week until I finish the game for myself. See you on the other side, GAF.

Well, Frankie has said multiple times that co-op is better played on Heroic or Legendary, particularly with four people. So apparently it is the same enemies/encounters.

I find IRC or chat programs worse, the sudden popup with bolded text can realy hurt.
 
OK, so to get the topic away from spoilers briefly, i was just listening to Radio 1 here in the UK, and they had some guy on talking about gaming news and whatnot, and obviously the topic of Halo 3 was featured. Now, one of the things they talked about was the plans for a "movie-style premiere" at some IMAX or other (i'd assume a UK one, since this is Radio 1), and one of the people attending will be Jonathon Ross, who apparently plays some part or other in the game. Which will seem really, really odd if you've every watched or listened to him. I just hope to god that whatever he plays, it's something i can shoot in the head.

edit: Ah, apparently this is somewhat old news, but it's the first i'd heard of it. Hopefully his part doesn't involve pronouncing too many Rs...
 
I'm hoping my copy arrives in good time, I want to clear the campaign by the weekend so I can get started on Legendary Co-Op.

And did my eyes deceive me earlier... the zombies game type is in there from the get go?!


AND AND I want to start a Halo 3 racing league, budding track designers wanted!

Can't say I disagree with you, really. Considering the channel I'm on is very Bungie based, we've already had our share of attacks. But we've battened down the hatches for now (As much as you can in an IRC channel, I suppose), so I feel pretty safe there.

Also, I highly doubt I'll be abandoning GAF completely this week. Once I find a forum I like, it's hard for me to avoid it. Spoilers or otherwise.

Thanks, was new to me at least. What an odd candidate for a voice in the game. Anyways, the IMAX UK showing sounds interesting. I presume it will be in London just before launch?
