I just got back from paying off my Legendary Edition at Gamestop. The girl working there said 200 pre-orders have been received at that store alone. That may not sound like a huge number, but I live in a town with a population roughly about 150k (Gulfport, MS) AND it's right next to a Walmart, so pulling those kind of numbers is pretty amazing to me. Also, the other Gamestop, which is located in the mall, has received 400 pre-orders. I asked her if they will do separate lines for people that paid in full and those who haven't, and she told me that they are having a meeting on deciding how to handle the situation. They will either do the "2 line method" or let people who haven't paid into the store at 11pm so they can pay. I hope they chose the 2 line method. Either way though, I'm finally paid in full and ready to go....and it feels great!

Yes but what they print is an offense to journalistic integrity. It is OK to be a "fan" of a system or "support" a system, so long as you do it within reason and with your good name in tact (see: teamxbox, PSM). SDF has zero integrity in my eyes with some of the stuff they have printed.

It seems that games shipped out prior to release are almost always going to be involved in some kind of "broken street date" scandal. Remember the Bioshock affair, which sent thousands of gamers around the country to the local Toys 'R Us, hoping to nab an early copy? Well, now the same thing has happened in Europe with another big Xbox 360 release.

A Norwegian game shop has reportedly broken the street date for the highly anticipated Halo 3, which is set to be released on September 25. MaxConsole received a picture of a customer holding the title and a display unit set up at a store called "Expert" on Friday.

While this is thus far an isolated case, the original author notes that previous street date breaks have "have resulted in competitors following suit"—something we've discussed before. One can only imagine the swarm of consumers a store in the heart of the U.S. would get if a similar thing happened.

I have lots of stuff going on launch week of Halo 3. Academic year starts the day before it and it's my master year. So lots of getting things organized and I won't be home where my 360 is, but at my crib in Uni town (Leuven). Door to door, about 1.30h worth of travelling and I don't know if I'll be sensable to do that commute (instead of waiting for the weekend to play H3) every morning and evening. I hope I'll be able to.
