Gah, a friend linked me to a thread on GameFAQs. I clicked it, and it was talking about the ending of Halo 3. I started reading, and decided I didn't want to screw myself over, so I quickly skimmed the wall of text for anything ridiculous, and I found nothing. So...I'm assuming it's real. What I did read didn't sound entirely impossible.

I don't want to go back there...or anywhere else on the internet.


It better stay safe here. *shakes fist violently at jerks who want to spoil the game*

Wasn't there a whole thread mocking the poor guy? I remember posting in there, questioning the validity of the dude's gamerscore...
 
Spoiler Protection Hint:
If you read a spoiler, and it sounds like a 12 year's story version of the diorama video but in some kind of end of game FMV form, it's bullshit.

Videos, pic or atleast a decent rep or ignore it. =)

Halo DOES make it different. How many games do we have to worry about the spoilers getting out? (And I would hope that those other games recieve similar treatment) Besides, we'll gladly allow spoiler tagged spoilers in here AFTER the 25th.
 
have you got a link to the manual shot? i've only seen grabs from the trailer. where she looks all WEIRD

where's the fun in talking about a game and its ending if you haven't experienced it yourself?

a week before release and we want spoilers in here and the next 10 pages to consist of a thick wall of black text that no one is interested in looking at?

that's what we really want?

those who pre ordered the game and are waiting for it's 25th release date really want the official thread full of spoilers?

With respect to all these pictures of people with the game early...I guess I'm suppose to be jealous but I can't help thinking, "God, I'm glad I'm not you". You all have shitty TVs too (see, feeling better already).

It doesn't surprise me that this whole selling games at 7-11 has backfired, either.

I knew because you were trying to make a point that you wouldn't have any spoilers in there. But the truth is, there is no point. You either highlight the box or you don't. It's that simple. If someone makes a spoiler joke, there'll be someone here who'll highlight it and tell everyone it's a punchline. You don't have anything to worry about. And the few people that want to see the spoilers can see them without any worry.

Well, there you go. For some odd(and, in retrospect, amazingly stupid) reason, I clicked it once it got locked, to see if a mod left any comments. I did the whole blur-as-you-scroll thing, until I got to a post that read "Somebody tell me the ending."

I subsequently GOT THE FUCK OUTTA THERE.

It's only a matter of time till someone mistypes spoiler though. And, normally, I'd agree with what you're saying, but the game isn't even out yet! Wait till we're actually supposed to be able to experience the story before we initiate this policy.

On my Covie dream, which is so nerdy/embarressing that I'd never share it outside a forum :lol

Its a pretty foggy memory, but....
Started out like a regular dream (all set in present day) and somewhere in the middle of my dreaming there was panic in the streets and crowds of people running/screaming like mad and I stopped some random guy who informed that the covenant had started invading. I wasn't in mombossa or anything, instead in non-descript american city. Remember my dream turning into a strange mix of first and third person, like a live action video game. Remembered feeling totally panicked in dream. I had a battle rifle at one point in time. Had lots of trouble shooting and aiming. Fought against elites and heard grunt voices but don't remember seeing a grunt in my dream (dream prophecy = elites enemies in campaign confirmed??!). Next thing I really remember was the invasion ending, and my regular dreams continuing. I remember waking up kind of pissed off because I dreamed like a noob. :lol

Look at it this way...come next Tuesday, someone can still mistype spoiler and there are going to be people who either haven't bought the game or haven't beaten it yet. So by your logic, we shouldn't post spoilers for a week after the game comes out.

I'm not the slightest bit embarrased by the fact that I play oodles of videogames, but I just couldn't have a conversation with someone who doesn't about my Halo dreams without feeling a little embarrassed. :lol

Yeah, there was. But I don't think I posted in it; was still trying to learn the ropes of GAF forum-etiquette (Still am, actually).

On the topic of dreams, I think I should be ashamed that instead of dreaming about playing Halo 3, I'm dreaming that I'm standing in line waiting for Halo 3. There is something wrong with this, no doubt... yet I feel strangely attached to it.
