Couldn't we just have a separate thread which allows spoilers? Or hell, a separate non-spoiler thread if you want to keep the spoilers available here. Hiding them within spoiler tags isn't the safest thing thing in the world, because half the shit in spoiler tags are punch-lines to jokes.

Also, it would be nice if Microsoft ramped up the advertising for Halo 3 here in the UK. We hardly get anything. Nintendo stuff is usually well advertised here, with the tube full of DS ads.

This is an official thread of the game. Since the game is not actually out, everything that is tagged is somewhat speculation until next tuesday. Saying that you don't want spoiler tags in an official thread is pretty ludicrous. Just don't highlight them. Nobody is forcing you to.

As far as jokes in spoiler tags go, it is a forum problem, and you should be able to distinguish between the two. If you can't, then don't highlight them. It's that simple.

I believe the laws binding retailers to their agreements not to release the game early are a lot stronger in US or at least easier to enforce. Not to mention Microsoft is an American company and has a lot more control over what happens here in US than what goes on in some small shop in a European city that may not be part of a major retail chain.

They could have solved the problem by releasing the game in Europe at least a couple of weeks later or start shipping the game to Europe once it has been officially released in US but we know how people are already complaining about getting the game a few hours later in Europe!

Well no, its not that ludicrous. The vast majority of people want to pop in their disc on day one spoiler free, myself included. The game may not be out until a week, but we all know there are leaks out there already, and inevitably stuff peppered around the net. Some of which will make it into gaf, no matter what the forum policy is. From what I can remember, the official Bioshock thread was very well done for spoilers (or the lack of). If, for example, I was interested in another game, and wanted to discuss things that were seen from leaked content, I would want to talk about that stuff. However, I would understand that having a conversation about spoiler content in an official thread isn't the greatest way to handle it.

I cannot turn it back because they are already sold out. However, it seems that the reason why it froze was because it had not cached the friends list info. Now the blades fly. I swear, the blades move uber fast now and it access everthing really fast. It seems it only needed a couple seconds to put all the info in the cache. Now everything is working fine.

I respect your opinion, and I do agree with you, but what allows a spoiler to spoil the game for some one is their own highlighting of the content (unless some one is a jerk). As some people pointed out, they do not mind spoilers, so they are the ones that highlight it. If someone cannot contain themselves from highlighting spoilers, then they should just lurk other threads.
