The main reason I want to get it early is because I don't want the story spoilt for me.

I mean, my E-bay purchase of Bioshock turned two weeks late, and by that time I'd accidentally come across a major spoiler of that game. Hopefully, just sticking to Gaf will help me avoid any spoilers for Halo 3, but you can never be sure.
I just finished Bioshock yesterday and I haven't encountered spoilers. You just need to NOT highlights the spoilers tag.

You're not worthy.

It's not that i dont like Bioshock, i would put it in my top 2 360 games but it's just its a daunting task. sometimes i want to just sit back and play a game of football or shoot some dude in the back. Not lift round shit with psycic powers and have big fights with my walking nightmare(Big Daddy). Im sure ill enjoy Bioshock 2 in 2009.

Taken from MLG forums.
How many maps in the game, could be fake..
someone ask that guy on IGN.
Valhalla
High Ground
Snowbound
The Pit - Midship remake
Guardian
Narrows
Retaliation
Island
Fallout
Sand Trap
Last Stand
Competitor
The Pilliar - (of Autumn)

It sorta seems fake since Frank and Luke said there was only 1 remake and on here, ther'es two.

Fake... so very fake :)

Concerning the IGN guy... I'm not completely sure. His description is very abstract and is mostly just an opinion, which I can neither deny or confirm. I need more specific examples to declare it fake or true...

Open mics are fine when you are competent enough to setup them right. Of course, the 360 lacks any of the options needed to do so. Ventrilo for 360, please.

Anyone on any team can hear you if you are close enough. They call that Proximity Voice. But to talk to your own team, you needed to open a channel by pressing up. Now you have the option to just leave it open with no need for a button press. Not sure if it's the default setting or not.

since when? link?

my team used to ventrilo for gears. it was cheating, but it was funny cause everyone else did it too.

Frankly i found his "review" laughable anyway. Nothing i couldnt have written tbh. But he does have pics.........not that they show an awful lot but the third one looks convincing :S

Yea, accidentally highlighting those is what I have a problem with. Most of the time I just assume they contain jokes.

You didn't think it was what? All I'm saying is that the MP map list is fake... whether it's longer or shorter I'm not talking about or if he's partially correct or completely wrong...

But fake it is...

The guy who did the review is convincing, not the review itself but the screenshots he posted.

There is no midship remake, there is no level called Pillar, the Covenant Sniper is not only back, it is found in the first level of the game, and bullets do in fact leave marks on objects. As anyone who played the beta would have known.

But it is getting dangerous out there folks.

Is our threat level still correct?

Just to forget about all the impending spoilers, here's a little Forge creation we came up with during the review session. It still needs a little fine tuning, but it sure is fun as hell!

Name: 343 Filthy Spark (kudos to Stinkles)
---------------------------------------

Monitor/Editor traits:
- 200% life
- Normal shields
- May only use and/or spawn fusion coils
(- Maybe poor camo)

Player traits:
- 50% life
- No shields
- Random starting weapons

Rules:
- If you kill the Monitor, you become it
- You only get points as the Monitor
- One monitor for each 3 players

With player life and shields set so low, it's pretty easy to kill them with fusion coils, but you still have to throw it at them all the while being the target of multiple players.

Hectic, fast-paced and lots of explosions... what more could you want?

It's dangerous to go out alone! Take this.

Someone needs to make a new threat level, we have already hit the top of the existing list.
True, though if that series of warnings at the top of the OP isn't enough, I'm not sure what is. :lol

A friend on msn claimed to know the ending of Halo 3, don't know if he got it from IGN cause I blocked him immediately just to be safe.

Edit: I also thought that Bungie had changed the Push To Talk so you could talk all the time. My ideal version would be never have to push to talk with your teammates, and the enemy can still hear you if they're close enough and vice versa.

I have a Forge question, is it possible to make an object unmoveable? Like say if I wanted to make boxes that couldn't be pushed out of the way.

you can make it so that objects once placed, cannot be edited or moved by other players. IN-game though, objects will always have their real physics. But there are some basically immobile objects.

Good, My Plasma Dodgeball idea is possible then!

Frankie can you just send me my Legendary version of the game now so I can stop reading these damn message boards? They are like Crack.....Bungie = Drug dealers! lol

i dont see the point of Forge
you can't change the level design
You can't change the terrain, no. But you can still move around player spawns, weapon/equipment spawns, vehicle spawns, place a bunch of objects to block off different pathways, and make crazy gametypes like Rocket Race, Baseball etc.

Then you haven't read much about Forge. :p

I wasn't too excited about it until I learned:

-Forge creations can be saved and custom games played on them
-Eight players can be playing/editing at once
-Examples of the new games that have been created using it (rocket race!)
-Forge variants can be shared, and reviewed/discussed/voted on via bungie.net

It's on par with online co-op in importance and proving longevity to Halo 3.

I really hope they make it customizable. I like being able to focus on the game I'm playing with my friends instead of worrying about pushing a button to talk to them. Props to Bungie if this is changed in Halo 3.

Another thing that I love about Halo 3, the asshole button and the ability to be able to choose to only hear people in your party, awesomeness!

This function was wonderful in the beta, and it's absence has been felt in several games, for example Shadowrun and the CoD4 Beta, it's such a hassle bringing up someones gamercard and muting them that way. Especially in Shadowrun where if you select someones gamertag in the scoreboard and press A, a menu comes up and one of the options is "Mute" but that just brings you to their gamercard.

Bungie responded to the push-to-talk complaints shortly after the beta ended. They claim that the feature is very important to the game's awesome netcode and that allowing mics to be open indefinitely could introduce significant latency. It was suggested that they might allow the option, but only in gametypes with a small playercount.

This is true, but in recent months they've confirmed that via improved netcode more options are now available. (See links a few posts up.)

I liked push to talk, it was another layer of strategy... you've all met those tools who just talk, talk, talk all the time and you can hear them coming and thusly kill them dead quickly.
