Person on friends list has Halo 3. Tells me there are
11
multiplayer maps.

cool, good to know. that's the type of spoiler I don't mind at all... Thanks for spoiler tagging it though!

Campaign levels, though... I'd die if someone just blurted it out.

We've known that for a long, long time.
It's 9.

Yeah, I read something ages ago (in EGM?), but I actually forgot what it was. :lol

I'd rather not be reminded.

People with football avatars like to see people banned. What does this mean?

and:
Keep all potential spoiler discussion to the official Halo 3 thread, and *always* use the spoiler tags.

And bans are probably reserved for Campaign spoilers, most likely, unless someone spoils something HUGE about MP.

It says July '07 on the bottom, so it came out in June.
I think I read somewhere in here that Last Resort was the only map that was being remade. But I could see some kind of Chill Out-influenced map like of like how Valhalla was influenced by Blood Gulch/Coagulation.

Yeah, I've read the same. It doesn't necessarily have to be a re-make like you said. It could be a successor to Chill Out just like High Ground is to Zanzi and Guardian to Lockout, etc..

11 maps?
that sucks cause that leaves us with
9..
good ones. i hated snowbound and high ground, snowbound especially.

cant wait to play the new zanibar though.

Well technically High ground isnt a successor to Zanzi because Last Resort is a remake of Zanzi. But the guardian reference is correct. Like Valahalla is the successor to BG.

maps you say?
Ah,
dissapointed, I thought there would be like 15

yeh i thought there would be around
15
as well. means we'll get raped by microtransactions, and should expect more of em than with Halo 2.

6000 posts already :lol

for one gametype yes. ctf that is.

playing slayer with radar on is just a stupid camp, crouch fest. i prefer symetric maps i guess and thats not one.

I actually agree. I looooove High Ground, but it works much better as an objective map.

Why the hate? I can sorta understand snowbound, but not High Ground.
High Ground is a very well designed map IMO.

During the beta, whenever we would be heading to Snowbound I would think I hated it. Whenever I played Snowbound I really loved it. Stange...

It's entirely likely that you'll be able to fix the things you don't like about the maps in question (not enough BRs [my usual complaint]) in Forge and we'll be closely monitoring well-wrought changes to maps and then integrating them as we can into our matchmaking playlists. That doesn't mean you'll wonder which version of Snowbound is going to appear in Team Slayer, though -- I'm sure we'll keep folks informed.

Halo 2 originally shipped with roughly the same amount. The Multiplayer map pack and the later two maps nearly doubled the amount.

well yeh i love forge and it'll be a great thing for customs, but when i first start playing halo i go right into matchmaking. i want it to be a perfect experience from the start and even though you will be making changes to playlists, i just wish it was perfect from the get go.

and the thing i hate about snowbound is the fact that theres essentially two floors; with radar kids just camp the tunnels, most likely with a shotgun, and its just a pain. not my style to camp and i love charging, but thats best done with radar off so the enemy doesnt know youre coming. i mean, camp all you want, but dont be a bitch and camp just cause you have radar.

So what people do in Forge gets sent back to Bungie? I didn't realise that.

I think he means via File Share on Bnet, then in which Bungie can review your custom created map. (Don't kill me again Luke if I'm wrong)

i wonder how bungie will track these changes though. will they get feedback sent back to them for every forged custom game played?

I believe the tuning of the carbine will make snowbound a bit more enjoyable.
Dispite it being a beta I never had a problem with that gun being shot at me on that map, my problem was the general layout. In the short time I had to play I never did work out a good stratagy and use to get pwned.

My only issue of snowbound was in oddball games, where people would camp at the energy barriers and 1-hit-beat-down people... and the time to win was EXTREMELY short (2 mins?)

Other then that I thought it was pretty cool.

GAF Halo 2 game today?

there was a very simple strategy, but it didnt always work because of the random spawns in the beta.

my team for example would just control a base and and maybe one side of the map, and we'd teamshoot with carbines and brs. it worked but sometimes the enemy would respawn behind our base, something i believe shouldnt happen, and we'd all get raped.

say it with me people, PLAY MLG CUSTOMS, PLAY MLG CUSTOMS. god i hate radar.

Wait so you were complaining about campers in the tunnels on Snowbound and then complaining that when you camped and held a base people spawned near or behind you?

Sounds like you should make Custom Games, change Leader Traits, where leading team is invulnerable and then the losing team has no shields and that would be your perfect version of Halo 3! ;)

standing atop a base and controlling a portion of a map is not camping, its called map control. kinda like when you control pink on midship because its the center of the map pretty much.

my idea of camping in Halo 2 is kids crouching around just so theyre not seen on radar.

but come on luke you know what i meant about those spawns behind the bases on snowbound, right? is that a spawn thing in the beta or is it bungies way of preventing people from "camping" atop the base?
