Ok so I got a message from a banned member (pet?? don't know his full gaf name...his gt is ICS Pet) that wants in on GAF customs.

Need some help HaloGAF, I recently got a new harddrive (upgraded from 20 gigs to 120), I decided today to pop in H3 since I haven't been on it in a while.

Problem: none of my DLC will load, I've tried the usual to get them to load:

deleting them and redownloading
clearing cache
waiting in the menus
loading a game and then trying to see if the maps load
letting all of my maps load up

but the DLC refuses to show up, I need some help, anyone have any suggestions. I can't live only the regular default maps showing up. No fun sandbox games or matchmaking :(

Let me know when GAF customs start, I am just sitting here watching TV right now.

I'd love to see this become the playlists after ODST comes(with the maps finally out to the public). Also, I've always wanted to post this, but I didn't want to sound too much like I would do a better job than Shishka(I wouldn't, I don't deal well to criticism :lol ).

If you're replying to my post, I said that it'd have higher percentages(weightings) of Flag/Assault games. I think it already has it now in Skirmish, but I should've said that Skirmish would combine with Social Team DLC.

Oh, and finally, for customs, maybe we can try out the new versions of Barracks and Barracks Open? If anyone does, please say what version is better. :D

This is sound advice. Although if I recall insta-touch doesn't exist as an option in H3, you can do what MLG does for Narrows and Onslaught.

It also needs to be adjusted not by map size but by players size too. BTB should be a bit longer than a 4v4-6v6 and all the Team Doubles return time should be insta-touch otherwise one double kill is basically a cap.

What I'd suggest is make multiple gametypes that pretty much explain the gametypes and then if people wonder what the gametype settings are they can go on and get them on some Bungie gametypes account they set upm hell you could even make a note of it when people are waiting in lobby, I've seen every note while waiting for games, its a pretty good place to put stuff. Gametypes like BTB CtF, 2v2 CtF, 4v4 Bomb, So on...

You already did a better job than him:D . but seriously CTF is my favorite game type in halo. it requires more teamwork than any other mode.
 
just got done going +20 (20K, 1D) in team flag on avalanche. the scorpion's sting was sweet this game.

    Team Doubles (Slayer, Slayer BRs, Slayer Pro, CTF Classic, KotH, Oddball)
    Squad Battle (most weight to Multi-CTF and Slayer [BR starts should be mandatory for Squad Battle], doses of Assault variants and Territories)

So what's the deal with customs tonight? There's a party with about 6 people playing customs right now. And then there's like 10 other GAFers playing scattered in MM and random customs with like 2 people. Where's the epic fun tonight?

Sounds good but I'd keep Social Slayer and get rid of Social Training.
 
Juices, you should host the next customs night. Line up map variants, gametypes, and all that shiz and prove to us how superior you are to Shishka.

Yee I should, although hosting customs and managing playlists is different so I don't get your comparison.

Besides my Mage Juiced game was awesome, RIGHT! I added Prowlers. :D

Kevinro said that. I thought it played decent, a bit too much prowler for my liking but besides that it was fine when the teams weren't 9vs5.

Sorry to bail early - my wife needed help getting the kids rounded up tonight, and I'm heading to a movie (District 9) in just a few minutes.

I'd suggest light orbs over the Overshield area, and maybe easier ways to tell what side is which with those Blue/Red pillars. Unless you wanted those to be neutral, then just ignore this. :lol

I got so sick of fucking Sandbox, vehicles, and shitty hosts, I want to do some MM now though.

You have one of the worst connections in our group. :p

So no matter what you will probably lag in the customs. (unless we have Aussie's in the party)
 
You know, before I start another map, I decided to give Chimera the loving it deserves.

AKA: Get more movement on it.

If you don't remember what Chimera looks like, here is a vid

First major thing, on 7 on the 7th version, there are rockets at each base. I've deleted 1 and moved them back to the location you see in that video with two more rockets on spawn. On that ledge in the bases are power drainers now, to help defend against ghosts.

In the center of the map, the invis has been moved to the cave area between the bases, and in its place, is a beam rifle. Needlers are also gone.

The last change is I've turned the maulers into shotguns, just to help counter the sword at close range.

Seems the map gets more brutal every time I do something to it.
