What's funny is that this is virtually impossible. New game, new game rules come with it, and they affect everything down to how high a player can jump or how fast he can run. You're not going to get a pixel for pixel remake because the transition to a new game has discarded that possibility completely. For the reasons stated, you'd basically have to preserve all of the rules from the previous game to even hope of making a 1:1 remake. And when you're not even attempting to improve the rules of previous titles, why are you even making a sequel?Neverender said:

Has anyone messed with Co-Op in Halo 3 lately? It's been awhile since I've done it, but I had a friend who was fairly new to the game. He didn't know about the skulls so I told him we could play through the campaign and as we did it I would point out the skulls. We were unable to do it because of some serious lag issues.
Here was the situation... I invite him to a game. My game is super jerky and laggy. It's not like a low frame rate laggy, but a smooth for a few seconds then a screen freeze then I warp to where I should be had the screen not froze. I was freaking out thinking my XBOX was dieing, so I restart my XBOX and we rinse and repeat. Samething. I then check to make sure my disc was clean... all good, but I clean it up anyway. The game still is jerky. I then back up to the lobby switch to custom game and it runs smooth with us in a custom game. I kill the custom game, back out of the lobby and have him invite me to a campaign game. This time when we load up the campaign he is laggy and I am smooth. So it appears who ever has host or is the leader in the lobby is the one who is laggy in campaign co-op.
Is anyone else having this problem? Or is this probably just a connection issue between the two of us?

Hah that game was funny. We went through it, and then at the end everyone takes a second to look at the stats and goes "What-Zayne got a perfection!"ZayneH said:

Yeah, surprised I was able to do that. A few close calls, guess it shows how powerful(but awesome) the Laser is.
Oh, yeah. The Overkill that guy got against you guys going into the Prowler? Surprised I didn't get one the two times when we were defenders, besides the two times we were attackers. :lol
We will never forget hoganator007; he will be missed.
Oh and we eventually did ride off into the sunset in another Prowler.
That one didn't get blown up as I got us to the base in time and protected the bomb long enough to make sure it detonated. I R Awsum.
We had some funny moments and I got betrayed like 5 times throughout the afternoon/evening. I'm gonna take a look at the films tomorrow and post some screens.

I think I actually was the one that helped that bomb detonate, my Chopper making them get away from the base.
Hopefully I can save a few films, and get them on my file share. Should take the videos I saved(wish they were in .MOV though..) and put them on YouTube.

I think Zayne's right. I distinctly remember him charging in on Sand Tarp and killing the guys who were left trying to disarm, at least one round. I think you saved us with the Prowler in the next round of that game.Blueblur1 said:

Games tonight were pretty good for the most part. I spent most of the time in the gunner seat of Storm's hog... the crazed stunt man. Seriously, he could flip a hog in a completely flat and empty map. =]
My favourite moment might have been when some idiot on the other team stood in a bubble watching my rocket and walked out just as it got to him. *facepalm*

Edit: Good games guys. I'm glad we were able to play on my new version of Ber Ber Creek. I think it plays a lot better a little more true to the originals.

Game tonight were good stupid fun. I drove around in a hog the entire time and helped my gunners get kills

Pay close attention to 0:43 during the Plasma Pistol charge. DAMN @ the graphics there, Jesus. I also LOVE the soft, "sadistic" music that plays when you free-roam New Mombasa.
Even though it's the same engine as Halo 3, the artists did a fantastic job pushing it even more and upping the notch on what they can do with Halo's artstyle.

So that means we have seen these graphics before. Lets hope they polish it even more. :O
The map/waypoint system looks really nice.
And I love the signs and scribbles on the walls in-game, I like having a lot of stuff in games that I have to actively look for and interpret. And I really hope this city is as large as they're saying it is (I can pretty easily draw out playtimes with games just by exploring), would help me make a day 1 purchase.

Seeing how big the environment is I now expect there to be a moment where I am required to drive a warthog or mongoose through the entire thing while crazy shit happens around me.
If it doesn't happen I'll probably be disappointed.

Edit: Also, I don't think AI Arbiter understands how to use the Gravity Hammer. He picked one up from a Chieftain as I was playing today and preceded to run up to enemies and stare menacingly at them. There were also times when he would be inexplicably weaponless. Damn fool.
