I'm on and available for customs. Not sure how many you guys have, though. Right now I'm thinking of plans for my current project in Forge.

I liked your changes in Brouhaha, Eazy. While the blocks can get quite ugly at times for Sandbox, the map itself is just neatly laid out and put together, it covers that up.

Still can't understand why there's shit maps like Synapse, Diety, and what was it, Doom box (?) in the BvW playlist, but no Bladed's Mage, or even Sanctum?
 
in gaf customs every game is on a map youve never played before, so its like playing a new halo game every saturday night, except the maps are better because they arent made by bungie

Well, as of late we mostly play Sandbox variants which means you would need the Mythic Map Pack. You could always just send FRs to play Matchmaking games with people if you don't plan on getting the maps or ODST.
 
Damn, fine games we had tonight, Coco's a lot better than I thought:lol :lol(no offence bro) This game was awesome! Ram with 43 kills wtf!:lol Well, had to leave early, need to work at 6am :(


Oh and Numbers Zombie game we played on Sandbox was the funniest zombie type game I've played, I usually don't like those kind of games, but that shit was hot!

you need the mythic map pack since 99% of the games we play take place on sandbox

EDIT beaten by a long ways thats what i get for not refreshing

He didn't manage to score, and we went on to win the match, pretty epic save by Numbers and a plasma grenade, and not my rocket like I originally thought, my rocket got there a second too late.
Good games guys, sorry to all the people who had to endure my suckyness when they had me as teammate .

Heh, none taken.

And yeah, tonight was a total blast. I think I enjoyed Dual's Zombies stuff the most, especially that one game on Isolation where it took like three consecutive waves for the zombies to clear out the base.

Gotcha, and yeah I plan on getting ODST. Was going to buy the maps a few days ago, but after reading about ODST and the second disc, i'll wait.
 
So much better than last week, unfathomably better. (in my opinion anyway)

Prefered the split parties, 8v8 is just a bit too big for my liking. Had some fun moments and some overall great games.
My favourite part might have been the game where I started out pretty terrible, picked up a sniper a few minutes in and snatched a sharpshooter which comprised mostly of Juices.
(Sorry Juices, you were just always straight infront of me)

That was my grenade, it's damage splashed on you, then a shot to the head :D Fun times.

Thanks man, I got a lot of positive feedback on that gametype :D Hope I can tweak some stuff in the map and finalize the gametype soon.
 
Yeah, I can definitely see what is wrong with Barracks, thanks for testing it out. Like I said, I think I screwed up the Spawn Areas, since Blue team started in Red Team's base, and vice versa. And I might want to block off those ledges over the doors.

May've worked 4v4. With whatever we had it was too easy to lock down the middle.
 
First time I joined customs in a while, but are the settings based off of MLG? Seemed to be quicker than normal Halo play, and it took me awhile to adjust to it.

Yeah, I'm thinking it was a stretch to have it 6v6, Maybe 10v10 might be too. I also noticed how easy it was to take over the middle, don't know if it was because you guys were better(probably, from my perspective), or because I littered the middle with too much crap. I'm going to take out the teleporters, and maybe try to find a good position for the bubble shield.
 
From the sound of the game on my new map, it needs some tweaking in the middle area. And a bit confusing also? I'll try to simplify it or make arrows. If anyone has a video of the match, I'd appreciate it.

Fun customs tonight. Lots and lots of people showed up.

Ok, I've done the following changes to Barracks:

  • Made every spawn marker either Defenders, or Attackers, except for ones marked by Respawn Areas that are Neutral.
  • Replaced the Flamethrower with the Bubble Shield, old Bubble Shield area now empty and just for cover.
  • Took out the Teleporters, put a Plasma Rifle in it's place in the bases.
  • Sniper Rifles now only have 4 shots, and not 8.

I wasn't able to block off the ledges on the tops of each entryway, so I guess that's going to be "broken" unless I learn how to Geomerge overnight.

i wouldn't say broken. i would say an easy way for vhfive to get a killing frenzy :D

Thanks for trying out my tweaked maps, guys. None are perfect yet, but they're in much better shape than they were before. Here's the links to all of my maps, for the GAF map list:

  • Removed man cannons and the platforms they were on
  • Removed one fin from the connection to the rockets
  • Removed geometry from the man cannon landing zone
  • Moved regen to catwalks from landing zone
  • Added stone platforms between star structure and platform
  • Tweaked weapon and spawn placements

The name came from the function of the man cannons, so it's a bit odd now ("crooked" seems to fit it better), but hey. They were confusing and ultimately didn't help map movement any. I think it played better without'em.


Centrifugal

  • Added teleporters to top and bottom levels of bases
  • Added bubble shield to lower pathway
  • Added tunnel under the center, with overshield
  • Redesigned grav lift platform to open it up
  • Added route to grav lift room from base sides (used to be closed, only reachable from sides)
  • Several small geometry, spawn and weapon changes to accommodate the above

I don't think this will ever be a great map, but the changes seemed to move it from decidedly "meh" to "pretty good". I'm trying to figure out how to reduce camping of the teleporters - always an issue with them - but I'm not sure how to address it yet.

  • Dropped tubes on the top level down into the geometry to free up budget (cutting $40 in tube ramps)
  • Added roofs (wall corners) to bases, moved weapon blocks, replaced columns with obelisks to provide more cover
  • Removed one active camo, moved other to the outside lower level
  • Added overshield to the other side, opposite the active camo
  • Removed sniper rifles
  • Increased rocket spawn times
  • Increased laser spawn time
  • Minor spawn adjustments
This might be pure sentimentality, but for sheer construction, Sandstorm is my personal favorite if mine. I just get a kick out of the second floor up there. That...took some time. :lol

Thanks for the games today, on all the maps. Zombie Choppers is my new favorite regular game type. Just awesome.
 
Good games last night guys, had lots of fun in my first customs night.

By far Entrentched was the funnest map of the night when we played Assualt, lots of back and forth, great map Ghaleon.

Also, if anyone wishes to make Team Beams with Sentinal Beam starts I will be up for a play test. Make sure to place alot of regens and increase shields to 200%. The thought of it is making me shake with anticipation.

Same here but customs are always fun. I think I'm gonna stick to customs from now on. Matchmaking with randoms has gotten stale for me.

Oh, I forgot. Juices said the thread sucks now and he might come back after his ban is up.
He can't be serious can he?

trust me i would love nothing more than beam starts and needlers secondary but for some reason bungle made the game so that it's impossible to start with sentinal beams. its not in the options.

Didn't someone from Bungie say that was a mistake with the UI? Think something like that was said when people questioned when the Carbine wasn't an option.

Though, believe me when I say I feel like Halo 2 had more Custom Games options than Halo 3, and vice versa when I try to do something with Halo 2 that I've done in Halo 3. :lol
