By the way, this has probably been mentioned already, but we hired Mr. Vociferous. He works in Redmond now. And will be working on Waypoint, and if he behaves, bits of other things.

Dude, congrats to Voc!

That's sweet, congrats to Voc. I'm sure his in-brain Halo encyclopedia will be useful.

The man can write, and clearly has a love for the world of Halo. Glad to hear it :D

My 360 is away for E74 repair or I would hit up customs with you guys :(

A-ha! I knew something was up when I saw this post.
Congratulations! This is really quite awesome.

I can't wait to see what other stuff 343 has in the making. I don't understand why so many people are already saying they're leaving Halo behind, with Bungie. The franchise's future looks quite exciting to me (here's hoping they don't pull too many Halo Warses, though).

Congrats, Voc. And that just reinforces what I said about MS hiring fans from the community. You're....going to edit him, right? He can get a bit wordy left to his own devices.

Voc - I need a place to crash for PAX.

hot damn that was a huge turnout. pretty much stayed at 16 players all 3 hours i played. lots of fun. next time it might be smart to break into 2 groups at the beginning since a lot of people had to wait to get in.

also seemed like people liked my map. im going to polish it up a little a change a few things but people seemed to like the general layout which is good.

oh and congrats voc

Not that I pop up in here much anymore (some day I'll have time for joining a GAF customs match, if you'll have me), but I did want to say congrats to Ram and Voc! I wish you both luck in your new endeavors.

Congrats Voc. Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labor.

Sorry to crap out at the end. My mic seems to be busted (but I can hear), and I couldn't get the game started. Then everyone bailed out, so I just gave up.

They are?

Where do I sign up?

Quite simply put, it just does not get any better than this.

Congratulations, my friend.

Holy shit! Congrats Voc! Representin' for us Floridians!

Sorry I couldn't make it to customs tonight, I just played 18 holes of golf and will be getting up at 5 tomorrow morning to play another 18. Tired as hell already.

I was also wondering why Voc posted that July 20th thing. I guess now he's going to turn into Urk: Posting once every few days and then just teasing, while not actually saying anything :P But this involves very little writing... so maybe not. Congrats.

Edit: Ghal, I think Merguson said that AJ closed registrations.

Woot woot, Voc! Sweet fucking deal; you deserve this.

We lose another GAFer to the gaming industry. It was nice playing with you, Voc :(

And good customs guys. Lotta new blood in there tonight. And for anyone who played that one-flag match on my map Brouhaha, I'd appreciate some feedback. Seemed like the playfield got spread out successfully but you guys didn't seem to have that swell of a time.

I jumped in for a bit earlier (Moosetwik), it was good to play with you guys. Mage and Sanctum are fun.

Also I'm in Australia so if my mic is choppy that's why. I'll pretty much always be in yellow too.

I am terrible at Halo. How does I end life?
Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. Just keep practicing with the BR and you'll just click with it one day and become a good player unlike Dax who pulled out his AR 99% of the time that I went up against him 1 on 1.

Play, play, play until you get better. And sorry if it seems like I randomly ducked out. After one of those matches I was checking my friends list and I apparently lagged out of the lobby or something. Since it was so packed I decided to do something else and free up a spot. Next week we should try to set up two lobbies headed up by different veteran GAF'ers for everyone else to join.

I was climbing trees on The Ark today, and the thought occurred to me: why don't more games allow you to climb trees or actively make trees ladders? Trees are awesome, and climbing trees even more so.

I really dig the map, and how many different ways there are into the base. I've noticed that while there are lots of touches on the flag, it doesn't get out of the base very often. I think if there were a way to get the flag out of the base a touch quicker - leaping out of a nearby nearby window (for example) right after touch, or some other way to make the flag location not be quite so treacherous, it would loosen it up a lot. As is just getting a touch isn't enough, you have to truck it a ways out of the base as well as fight your way in.

i still find the base and hill area a little confusing :/

Fun games. Mage was a freaking sweet map, and those few who remained on to play that halo-2ish game of assault on EazyB's creek.. oh man, that was awesome!

Edit: vhfive's remake of Sanctuary is awesome too.

Has the possibility been discussed of other people making maps for Halo 3 like Certain Affinity did for Halo 2?

No, I meant Ghaleon was. He linked to the Blog, not the forums.

I was there, really impressive map and great match even though I lost.

This is a classic, I just found out this guy is also making that Scribblenauts game :lol He did a lot of custom maps for Halo CE too. Nice to see a halo fan I've been following for a while blow up like this.

Seriously, you guys should go check out www.mothergoat.net to see/hear some of his work. He makes fantastic maps, music, and (now) games.

He's rad. We tried to hire him years ago but he was all, "Screw you and your pancake house, I'm gonna go make a DS game where you can draw anything and magic shit happens."
