Posted in the wrong thread. But my reaction (aside from posting in the wrong thread):

Really digging all the community maps added to...
Social Big Team – “Workplace Bravo” added to Slayer BRs, “Eighty Grit” added to 1 Flag CTF. Community variant “Entrenched” debuts in Multi Flag and Neutral Assault.​

Also, more one-flag in BTB is a joyful thing. Workplace Bravo is a great map; asymmetric maps are much harder than symmetric ones to design so props to the guy that made it.

And to finish that thought now that I've recovered (a bit) - all the community maps going into the playlists is a glorious thing. I think they go a long ways toward refreshing the playlists.

Also: holy shit. Thanks guys. Can't wait for the hate mail! :D :D :D

never did get to try it, but there's always Customs.
 
Not to be a downer, but any reasoning behind Borderline and Reminiscent being in regular Slayer gametypes, and not in both that and Slayer BRs? Those two maps seem somewhat too open and or big for just regular Slayer gametypes.

Or are there any plans to put them into Multi-Flag(and/or Multi-Flag BRs), or into BR start gametypes, or any other playlists? Just don't want to have to wait in the base for them to spawn in every time I play on them, or have to push the thumbstick like there's no tomorrow in the direction of either the Carbine, or the BR.

Aye, I'm really glad to see it get highlighted. One of the best remakes I've seen so far.

Also, I really, really like CTF on The Kindom. We've done it a few times on GAF custom nights and every game has been a blast. It's not a great slayer map, but for CTF I think it's ace.

Don't Do That
It's One-Flag Bomb on Narrows. In an attempt to plant the bomb, they whole team decides to go through the mancannon. Not a good idea.

i knew the Grifball playlist was going to happen (no more lame "Veto this map" jokes in the Grifball lobby), but the Action Sack thing absolutely floored me!

remind me to give Shishka a big wet kiss at PAX Boston next year :D

Ber Ber Creek being in matchmaking reminds me of something. When I first downloaded Ber Ber a few months ago me and my brother played it in splitscreen. It didn't go so well, the frame rate was about 10, and all the objects were randomly turning gold and than back to the normal brown. Anyone else had this problem?
It was like playing in a disco

Webmaster, and Scarab Run respectively. Webmaster used a old image from a really old Bungie news article, and Scarab Run was just a picture cropped and(to me) squished into a avatar.

Just wanted to show my .5 seconds of fame here. Might put up some maps I've edited and created(like one on Rats Nest that mixes up the spawns in each base, or one I doubt I'll finish in the Crypt but made 4 different versions of in Foundry, or even a "infantry friendly" version of Sandbox).

thats happens on forged maps on splitscreen

if you watch mlg thats why they dont play onslaught or amplified in am bracket, where they use split for the early rounds

Heh, I believe they were all from the same game, if I'm not mistaken. Have a few other clips from Avalanche just due to them being where I got the Legendary Map Pack achievements at.

I'd like to play more Big Team games, or team up with people in either Team Slayer/Team SWAT, but most people on my friends list don't play with me/don't invite me.

Probably something I said. :/

Living in Memphis sucks. Why the hell doesn't PAX just come to the middle of the country? I hear Lincoln Nebraska is an extremely fun place to hold conventions.

Because the middle of the country is no where near as interesting as the east coast or the west coast.

I wish the laser on Valhalla would be removed and be replaced with the rockets. I played a game of BTS in Squad Battle, and every time we tried to come back by hopping in the warthog we would get lasered.

Also, putting a vehicle over the flag so that you have to move the vehicle in order to get to the flag is really cheap, but I don't think that can be helped through an update, sadly.

also replace laser with rockets on last resort, too. and maybe make the warthog gauss.

zanzi in halo 2 was all about the warthog shenanigans... now, it just gets lasered at the beginning of every round of 1 flag and its down and out

i love the laser, i just dont like that it eats vehicles for breakfast

lasers, missile pods, rockets, power drainer, tripmine, plasma pistol, grenades... just too much anti-vehicle stuff. its pretty sad though because even with all this stuff people still can't stop a warthog gunner from getting running riots

i remember playing ascension in halo 2, and if you didn't have rockets, all you had to take down the banshee is smgs and stickies... but we took care of it, and it was satisfying!!

I like the Laser, but I do agree that sometimes it's great(like killing the entire other team), and sometimes it's pretty bad(when the guy on the other team kills you, or on Standoff and the other team has 3 Lasers). The Laser already has it's drawbacks, like the long shot charge up and cool down time, but it's practically the vehicle killing Sniper Rifle.

Only way that I can think of "fixing" the Laser would be it spawning in at the start of the game, and not returning, or spawning 180 seconds into the match, and not spawning after that. Though, then you have the potential problem of the other team dominating in vehicles the rest of the game and other issues. Or you could have a Rocket Launcher/Missile Pod spawn in 180 seconds after the Laser was used.

It's practically a Halo version of "The Sonic Cycle", kinda like the version about BR/AR that seemed to happen when I could only read this thread. :/

Hopefully that made some sense, and doesn't start some new version of Laser vs Everything else. :/

That's what I hate about Standoff Heavy so much. It would be an awesome vehicle map, but the lasers get rid of those so often. The only way to get a good vehicle run going is to take all the lasers, which then feels really cheap to the other team. The idea of spawning rockets or a missile pod instead is really good. I think it would make people use that starting Laser more carefully, so you wouldn't be able to use it up on infantry, then grab another when a Warthog comes.

In regard to PAX 2010, I might go depending on where I end up going to college. If I go somewhere on the east coast, there's no doubt I'll be there.

Yeah, same goes for Valhalla Heavies(last time I played). It was somewhat like Blood Gulch in regards to the teleporters going to each bases respective right side. But, it was a mess. Scorpions would either dominate too much(because that team had the hill laser, or their own laser), and that team would have two lasers and spawn camp/come out of your base and fry camp you. It is/was one example of where one Laser in the middle would be good at the beginning, and then after that you would have a Missile Pod in the middle(maybe with more missiles in it, if that's possible, than the base one/s) and Rocket Launchers either at each bases left side(two rocks to tunnel, and two rocks in river), or at the teleporters.

Though, I'm not sure that whole theory is possible, with the one time pick up Laser, then Missile Pods/Rocket Launchers after that, since I don't work for Bungie. Maybe Shishka(or whoever helps him, or whoever at Bungie) has tried that, but it didn't work in playtesting, or Halo 3 wasn't built that way to do it.

Oh, and I bet(invisible dollars/Monopoly Money) that by the time I get to my 50th post(if I make it that long), every post would be able to fill a short novel. Sorry for my rambling.
