Good pics... Is this what Bungie plans to show while they promote the game over the following months? How about showing some new maps for that mode? Have they discussed how many environments there are in there?

halo legends looks kinda ehhh...

what the fuck was the mecha thing shown in the trailer?

If you are talking about the thing that looked like a cross between a motorcycle and a jet, then perhaps its a never before seen halo vehicle.

IX is Inside Xbox, Storm. -_-
That's the first time I've ever head it called IX :lol

So while the thought of anime Halo was the most absurd thing I'd ever heard, there seems to be quite a few people enthused about it. I'm still not convinced I'll enjoy it but I'mma get around to tracking down youtube videos of those companies' works because it's sparked a bit of interest in me.

I still remember going to my father's house when I was around 8 and he'd always throw in a Ghost in the Shell anime movie for me to watch before going to bed. It may've been because I was young but I remember it being gruesome as shit and giving me nightmares. I vaguely remember bewbs...

The leaked achievement list showed around 7 or 8 firefight maps IIRC.

Edit: And thanks for the impressions Voltron, glad to hear things worked out.

wow, found my first Halo 2 game. Me and my 2 fraternity brothers making big things happen!

launch night. :lol

gooood memories.

Just noticed that my first game of Halo 2 was on 7/7/2006. I didn't know the significance of that date at the time. It was Rumble Slayer and I got 3 kills and 11 deaths.

Halo Portal??

Confirmed!

wait, what?

I'm not overly hyped for Halo: Legends, or even ODST's campaign/FireFight a whole lot, either, to be brutally honest. I'm more anticipating Halo Reach's beta and finishing out Halo 3's MM with Heretic and Longshore.

I'm sure FireFight will be fun a few months, but after that, back to Halo 3 MM with 3 Ball, Grifball, and the monthly minor changes. At least, of course, until Halo Reach's beta.

I sorta got the impression that a "Portal" could be anything. I didn't mean a game as such.. more just an app that you download. Similar to what facebook and all will be.

Atlas forum is under attack!
Holy shit, from what I remember there used to be around 20 pages of submissions, now the forum has 120...

You'd think someone over there woulda done something by now. Hope the Atlas community isn't hurt by this stunt. Troll Shishka all you want, but doing something like this to Atlas isn't going to help anybody.

God's honest truth (which God? Whatever).

Frankie, when is 343 Industries going to get some kind of website?
Is the XBL portal the closest thing we'll have to that?

Just saw the trailer :o

Over 127 pages of HAHAHA threads, and the guy is making a new thread with his different accounts every minute. What a douche bag.

A buddy of mine played some Firefight yesterday at Comicon and had some interesting things to say regarding the previously mentioned grenades:

The only difference I noticed was the grenade physics. When I was watching from the line, I noticed player after player miss easy grenade throws and I scoffed under my breath. When it was my turn to play, I ended up missing quite a few as well. I ended up asking Paul (Bungie employee who's last name escapes me right now) after the game if they had made any changes to the grenade's physics, and he confirmed that there is now some auto-aim associated with throwing grenades. So when aiming at an enemy's feet with a frag, your reticule wants to pull your aim upwards towards the body, creating some overthrows if you aren't careful. It'll definitely take some getting used to, but it should only be an issue with frags. I got a few sticks.. I think it helps you out more with stickies/spikes.
Pretty interesting, and sounds like it'll be tough to get the hang of it (at least for me).

Saw the Halo Legends trailer. Outside the awful CG I thought it looked great. Plus, I'm always for expanding the Halo universe. Oh and Halo Waypoint sound awesome too.

Not from me, no. I only have control over the main forums. I can't do anything with groups.

Either Shishka himself or an administrator of the site could do it.

Oh wow, I think I'll go make a thread about this in the Septagon...

A couple friends of mine also headed out to Comic-con and sent back some good reviews on Firefight and the "new" pistol. Although I don't have any pictures =*(

Definitely getting excited for Firefight even if there's only 7 maps for it.

Voltron, nice impressions. Hopefully the changes between ODST and Halo 3 (grenade arcs) won't make it too difficult to switch back and forth between the two games.

I eagerly await what a new Halo game from 343 Industries is going to look like.

Sweet take on the game, thanks for that. I'm kinda surprised at the hijacking wraith thing, I thought that might be one of the features taken out between Halo 3 and ODST. And that BO guy must have been suffocating in that helmet.

This is kinda random, but I really like the Halo: Waypoint logo. I don't know why.

Halo Legends looks stupid. I feel like the franchise is effectively alienating everyone who dislikes anime, such as myself and, I would expect, at least 50% of the Halo community. Bad move.

But didn't you say:

Man, talking about Halo 2 and Halo 3's story is so boring. Before entering this thread, I really didn't think that anyone cared about the story at all because it was so bland and uninteresting.

So why would this appeal to you anyway?
And I don't see how it alienates people any more than the novels or graphic novel?

Many of the announced Halo projects are intended to pull in current Halo fans as well as - possibly - some others who are not familiar with the games. Halo Wars did it, by trying to appeal to Halo players and also those wanting an RTS. Halo Legends will likewise pull most of its audience from the player base, but could see some incremental around the edges from those more interested in anime.

Everything Microsoft and Bungie does to to expand the franchise will only appeal to a subset of the current fan base, outside of a new, full Halo game. This is true of anime, books, the soundtracks, DLC, you name it.

I'm not much of an Anime fan but it doesn't bother me that they are making one. I'm just looking forward to ODST, Reach, and beyond.

I know most of you here are crazy about bungie, but did anyone else get a very good feeling about the future of Halo on the hands of 343 Industries after seeing the Legends trailer??? The presentation and music were supreme.

From the discussion here, people were not worried about how the narrative elements of Halo will continue but whether the team can put out a great game, considering it'll be their first as 343 Industries.
(That's what I remember us saying anyway)

The anime parts of the Halo Legends trailer looked excellent, the CGI? Not so much..

What is Halo: Waypoint?
It's apparently going to be a portal/area on XBL for anything Halo. There's something on it on Inside Xbox apparently?

Jesus, the ATLAS douchebag is still going. 178 pages of spam, it's insane.

As long as the pizzas keep flowing in, and xbl subs are paid for, everything will be alright over there too methinks.

I didn't know you would be forced to watch it.

Was addressed (partially) by Bungie yesterday here.
Seemingly some test data. Gives you an error if you try dl it.

Also (<3 HBO) Blomkamp has said he's done with Halo, and if the movie is made he almost definitely will choose not to go back.

Legends doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be. Though I'm still not completely sure on what Waypoint is going to be.

I got a lot more confident in the direction of the Halo franchise when Frank was hired. Bungie has a tradition of hiring much of their talent direct from their fan base, bringing people who are already passionate about Bungie (and Halo) to the next project. It's been one of the things that has made the series evovle in the direction it has, making it so reflective of their fans desires.

Frank's hire at Bungie was part of that, and his move to Microsoft I took as a signal that the same kind of passion that has served Bungie so well would carry forward there. I'll still judge every game individually and reserve judgment for final products, etc, but I'm more optimistic about the direction of Halo under Microsoft than I was last year. I think at the high-level, they're making some good decisions.

Is he the guy who decides when they can or can't show stuff?
