AR is like a surgeon's scalpel to me. There is nothing more satisfying than twenty-shotting fools from the other side of Valhalla while they try to figure out how a BR reloads. I actually avoid using it sometimes because it feels more like a precise aimbot than a weapon.

Ghaleon and a couple others agree that the AR is a good weapon but qualify Dax's outlandish statement with a little bit more evidence. I chime in and say that the AR is complete horseshit and only promotes trading beatdowns which is mega-homo. Juices then agrees with me.

When I started my H3 career I was horrible so I've been trying to work off the bad stats for a while. :lol

BR is obviously the best choice for mid-long range combat, but in my opinion there is nothing more satisfying that out-BR-ing a guy with a shotgun point blank.

You're right, that typically is how it goes and it's really sad that the "pro-BR" side of the argument gets away with such pathetic crap. Nothing like spouting off pointless strawman arguments ("Dax thinks it shoots 3000 meters or something") and saying that the AR promotes "trading beatdowns" when that system didn't exist until TU1 is pretty fuckin' funny.

I've had to watch the same bad arguments get paraded around this thread so many countless times it became depressing. Same thing with thinking that the BR is somehow a 'skillful' weapon. I can't help but shake my head in disbelief that some people still think that the BR is somehow more "skillful" than the M6G(magnum).

Stepping into the AR/BR debate for fun...

Anyhow I wont deny that the BR is better, but I like the AR more.*

The AR is much more fun to use in Campaign and makes Halo 3 feel more like a Halo then Halo 2 did, not to mention the satisfaction of fully automatic weapons (A love the human turret).

*I will BR the shit out of people before thinking about using the AR.

here's the deal its my brother's old 360 that got e-74 before it was under warranty, so he got an arcade. he was living with me at that time so we shared his 360, he then moved and left his old broken 360 for me. so i called ms and after about 45 min. they determined that my address was indeed real and put that console on my account. i then went through the website and it said that the shipping label was on the way. after about 4 days my brother got a call to confirm the address (which shouldn't have happen because it should be registered to me) he confirmed the address about a week ago and the label still hasn't come. and xbox.com no longer lists that the console is registered to me. so instead of just starting this shit all over again i think im going to just buy an arcade because i never bought a 360 to begin with (got a 130 hard drive online for $50).

so after this long winded and most grammatically terrible explanation. what are your thoughts

We should play together. I don't go into MM much, and I'm a lowly 16 (I actually had to go check, lol). I'm a customs fool; I love to check out other people's work.

And Guardian is a bad map for 1v1. It's too big even with the 110% speed and the weapon layout does nothing but promote camping. If you want to see a great 1v1 map, check out Greenhouse by Zanno. Brilliant use of the snipe area of Ghost Town, and he was able to turn that map into his bitch with the level of Forging that's going on.

Take a close look that the pillar that normally isn't solid and the geo'd ramp. forgegasm.

I'm only a 42 but it's okay. I don't want to go to 45 and have the Brigadier eagle as my symbol... one day I will be the almighty Force Colonel with my shiny gold bars and triple stars. One day...

And even if I wanted to rank up, I dislike playing Team Slayer with random people, which is really the only way I could possibly level up at this point, because I need to be carried by players better than I to win consistently at that rank range.

Actually, I just dislike playing Halo3 with randoms in general, so I don't really get on unless friends are on. And if we start playing Team Slayer, we just tend to lose a lot.

I'm going to have to take a break from anything other than the most basic of Halo. I bought Legendary using US points from the MSN Autos promotion, and now that my Xbox has been replaced after red-ring I no longer have access to that on my main account. Mythic was a friend's code redeemed on my box when he was here, and so I've lost the licence for that as well. I can use the DRM tool for Legendary, but Mythic will have to be (and probably should be) a re-purchase if I want it, but I'm not too keen on that given that the Summer of Arcade is coming up and ODST is only a couple of months away.

If my editor can wrangle me a free copy of Splosion Man or Shadow Complex then I'll probably use the points I saved to buy Mythic, but even then it feels like I'll be buying them for a second time, and then buying them for a third in September.
