The Official Halo 3 Thread

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but it involves Halo 3 so...

My friend has a problem with his live id...it is either corrupt or something else is going on...but either way he no longer has the ability to log into bungie.net. Is there a way to un-associate his gamertag from his live id so he can start over?

I don't have the full details about what is actually wrong with it, but general is it possible or not type question.

Thanks for help/advice.

Trust me I would know if I had host. :p

And besides when people quit out of matchmaking. I usually see the black rehosting screen, which basically means the quiter had host. : [

And about New York being higher.. I have no idea.

So, I'm going to Europe on Sunday until the 10th of August. I'll likely be playing a bunch of Halo until I leave so if anyone wants to play just hit me up when I'm on.

Oh and I almost forgot, during squad battle last night I shot a hornet out of the sky with a rocket. It was pretty cool, I'll probably capture it later. Squad battle actually isn't too bad. At least the Slayer variants I've player aren't.

Also, I can't believe this thread is about to hit 100,000 posts. That's nuts.

So I finally hit 47 in TS. 3 more ranks to go!

I lost my 46 yesterday :(.

I'm pretty damn close to a 50 in the ranked playlists.

Lone Wolf - 47
TS - 45
Doubles - 45

Are you going in alone or what?

Random thought and all that, but has anyone else noticed something kind of odd about the Arbiter in cutscenes? His mandibles are always open and he looks like he's panting. In Halo 2, he'd close them in what looked like a "rest" position.

Nah I'm going in with my brother who got his 50 in something like 90 games of SWAT. I think that the best way to rank up in TS is to go in with one other person so that you don't play groups of 3 or 4 who are boosting.

I got my 50 in Slayer by going in with a party of 3. You usually get 3v3's and you're with people you know so you don't have to worry about people from matchmaking quitting out or any shit like that.

Non-answer :P. What I'm getting at in all of this is that it doesn't look right, he appears out of breath in most of the Halo 3 cutscenes, instead of being a quietly composed and disciplined warrior.

Snug fit, but I don't see any clipping at all.

Hmm. Had to check to make sure I wasn't crazy:

In the scene where the Guilty Spark is revealed (might need to zoom in/watch it yourself for clarity).

WTF is with the fencing in Foundry? it slows my xbox to a fucking crawl! How can you let that go into the game!?
Try playing any variation of Foundry splitscreen like I do all the time with my bro. It slows down so fucking much that it's impossible to shoot sometimes. I think this is because the Xbox reads Foundry and Sandbox to an extent as a series of different objects which it technically is instead of as an entire level as it does for other levels.

Yea I don't know why specifically but certain things on my screen make the slowdown so bad, If I do circle twitches around foundry its semi smooth (as smooth as h3 gets) and then when I do them with a fence in view it skips around at such a sub-par framerate. The same thing happens on Avalanche when both teams set up regens on their side in the middle and a few people get on screen and start tossing nades, all the explosions and colors make my xbox just skip around to like 2-5 fps rate completely unplayable.

Yea, still don't see any clipping. He can close his mandibles without intersecting with the helm (I'm not talking about all 4 mandibles meeting, just the pairs). The pairs in Halo 3 rarely (if ever) close, so it looks uncannily like a dog panting.

Shishka plays for 4 hours but Dan, Eric, and Luke only play for an hour? :D @ some people getting paid to play video games longer than other people.
Shishka doesn't really have anything else to do. I mean the monthly updates are evidence of that. But then again it is strange that he'll be playing Halo for 4 whole hours. That's probably more than he's played in the past month or so.

/sarcasm & general douchebaggery

Still got two render points to use before tomorrow. If anyone needs something rendered, just ask.

Rendered a quick clip from a game we just played. A last second, well coordinated assault during Valhalla one flag.

It's been a while since I listened to the podcast with the specifics, but what are the benefits of playing on Bungie day this year? I know if you win against a Bungie team (not a chance for me) you get some armor, but is there anything else happening?

I'll probably skip the Bungie playlist. Depends on how a certain thing gets done. I'm going to assemble my computer/office chair tomorrow. If it takes me all day to get it done, oh well. I'll hop on probably and if anyone needs a spot... invite me...
