I guess I was a little heated. I appreciate you clarifying your statement as the original post was a little vague. As to how all of this relates to Halo, I agree with you and Dani (and whoever else I missed). Button combos just do not belong in Halo (or FPS games in general).EazyB said:Wow, defensive much? The reason I said "some of it" is all about memorizing a move list is because that specific task of memorizing specific inputs is, IMO, less skill based and more monotonous memorization. As you know, after you've spent this time memorizing the movelist so that you can do each move as soon as it pops into your head, you're now equipped with a huge variety of moves. The skill involved is all about knowing what situations to pull each move off, how to input them quickly, the split second recognition/reaction to the other player's actions, and how to draw opponents into favorably positions. It's true that I don't play fighters at anything near an advanced level so there are probably more techniques I don't even know about but that's not the point. I realize the immense depth in fighters and skill it requires to become really good at them. It's just that the unavoidable pitfall of having to sit down an pour over a movelist is something I'd have a hard time classifying as skill.
And just in case your rage missed the rest of my post, I'll clarify how it relates to Juice's point about having "built in" button glitches. Halo has a relatively simplistic input system which allows anyone to jump in and have fun immediately and succeed just relying on smart strategy. Adding additional barriers such as button inputs may allow people that've invested the time into memorizing those to destroy those that haven't, but it's just an unnecessary hurdle; one that fighters have to face but shooters don't.
The secret is hounding Shishka until he deletes that map permanently from MM. You won't.OuterWorldVoice said:Anyone else get PWNED at spawn in Plurality in Team Doubles?

Eaten By A Grue said:Reporters have filled the auditorium, all are in there seats. After standing in the hot sun for hours on end they are finally here at this moment. The anticipation is thick in the air. Unaware of what is about to happen, sarcastic conversations and murmurings of E3 keynotes past can be heard.
Reporter #1 - "Massive damage, LOLOLOL remember that?!"
Reporter #2 - "Riddddgeeeee Racerrrr, what a joke!"
Reporter #3 - "Man I rather be watching the Gilmore Girls now then be sitting here."
Lights suddenly cut out. The crowd is in the dark. Starting inaudibly a thin chant of a chorus accompanied by violins can be heard getting louder and louder through the air.
Chorus - "OhhhhhHHHHHHAhhhhhHAAAAAAAAAOHHHHHHHHAhhhhHHHHaaaa"
Everyone in the audience suddenly is aware that the theme of Halo is playing. Puzzled glances are exchanged among the crowd.
Doors on the stage floor suddenly give way with a loud booming noise and a shaft of light shoots in the air. Smoke is billowing on stage, lasers and strobes are firing blinding the crowd. The Halo theme music is getting louder and louder. A person veiled in shadows is slowly raised through the door in the floor. Suddenly a voice is heard as the music reaches its crescendo.
Shadowy Figure - "I Have Returned...My Children"
Spotlights open up on the stage, the shadowy figure is revealed.
Ken Kutaragi is standing before the crowd
The air is sucked out of the room as thousands of onlookers gasp for air. People standing along the edges of the room start to faint. Some begin to cry, some being to shout in joy.
Ken Kutaragi is garbed in Master Chief's armor holding his helmet in one hand and a marine shotgun in the other. Instead of his clean cut looks he has noticeably aged . His trademark dark black hair has now grayed and is long, down to his shoulders. His baby-like skin is now old and wrinkled. One eye has dark circles underneath it and a black patch is over his other eye. It looks like he has gone to hell and back.
Kutaragi - "I have come through the shadows and time to bring to you the Halo franchise.
The stage lights up brightly to reveal a warthog and the Pillar of Autumn behind him. The crowd roars. Suddenly a thousand voices are silenced outside in the Microsoft booth with thunderous applause.
Kutaragi - "Microsoft has won the battle of the last generation, but we will WIN THE WAR".
Kutaragi then pumps the shotgun he is holding with one hand. The crowd roars with cheers and applause.
Kutaragi - "I bring to you the PLAYSTATION 4!!!!
Kutaragi raises his shotgun in the air. There is a blinding flash and before the crowd stands a new playstation console on a platform. The sound the crowd makes is deafening and is shaking the very foundation of the building. The Halo theme music is blaring at this point, drowning out the shouts.
Kutaragi - "Who needs a motion controller when with the Playstation 4 I bring the 4th dimension!
The crowd suddenly realizes they are no longer in an auditorium, but on an alien planet from Halo. They are in the game!
Kutaragi - "Microsoft and Nintendo, MAKE YOUR TIME"
Kutaragi jumps into the warthog and then drives up into the Autumn. The Autumn's propulsion systems kick off sending everything into chaos. People go flying with objects, the light and heat is intense. The Autumn takes off and is gone with Kutaragi. He has left the crowd as fast as he came in.
The crowd realizes now they are back in the auditorium. Some are passed out, some blind or burned, and a few are dead from the events that had just unfolded. But all have realized that their lives have changed forever.

Suddenly I love halo multiplayer again.
At first I was going to say that Halo 3 maps wouldn't be a good fit for E3 since they're main focus is ODST. But hey, if the demo is only available for a few select press, then maybe they can have a small booth within MS showing off a new map or threeKuroyume said:I hope we get screens of a new map along with all the ODST info.

I'm a big Multi-Team aficionado and I wholeheartedly support this cause. Multi-Team needs more variation (aka less AR starts) and VIP and Hammerzeit really need to be removed.Striker said:http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=33243561
