It's true. It doesn't make logical sense but ARs are far better than BRs at taking down Banshees.

I think he was laughing at the fact that the dude had no idea what was happening. Actually, if you download the clip from my fileshare you can see the dude runs out of the base because he see's a red dot on his radar and just runs in circles for a good 2 seconds before looking up. It's quite the scene.

I've sniped someone out of a banshee in halo2 before. I haven't been able to replicate that amazing feat in halo3 tho.

Most of it is BAU as far as these interviews are concerned, but this Q/A raised the comic's ante considerably in my book:

The Spartan: BLACK team, a Black Ops detail attached to the Office of Naval Intelligence early in the war with the Covenant, is performing a sabotage mission in enemy space when they and a Covenant cruiser crash land on a barren moon. Spartans and aliens must forge an uneasy alliance when members of both parties are captured by the mysterious never-before-seen inhabitants of the moon -- and go on a daring rescue mission to seize their comrades back.

As for tying in, Spartan: Black may touch upon one of the more mysterious aspects of ‘The Terminals’ from Halo 3.

Looks like the Greg Bear novel trilogy isn't the only thing that will be getting the Forerunner treatment. I'm really interested to see where the Halo team is going to be taking the Forerunner story. It's a pretty significant risk given the fact that one of the most alluring attributes of the Forerunners' are their mystery -- relieving that, even in the least, could upset more than a few fans. If these moves are handled deftly though, perpetuating and generating more mystery despite the skirt lift, I can see clear potential for some of the best storytelling to come directly from that era within the Halo timeline.

I was wondering why my system was chugging like mad. Oddly, my laptop at work (512 megs RAM) is doing okay, while my PC at home (faster processor, graphics card and 2 GB RAM) crashed the browser every time I came to the thread last night.

Not noticeably, no. I'd say the level of badassery has been preserved at about the 97% level, and the page loads/scrolls about 80% faster for me.

Good trade off. So thanks. Gawd that's an amazing moment.

Side note: pulled down Elevation and Centrifugal from my file share last weekend, forgot to mention it for the GAF list. The former is going through a major rebuild - about 70% redone from scratch - while the latter I decided just needed to be retired. It needed some tweaking but I didn't have it in me to rework it.

Haha, I really did think about that. I was going to see if I could give them some rockets, but Merg ended up using them. He hid inside of a trash bin and poked his head out to shoot the Hunters... which was equally as awesome as the Traxus guys.

I was just gonna do the last level for the meta-game achievement. I'm not sure if we'd be able to get the necessary points if we tried Annual as well.
