Is Cubed the one where you spawn next to your enemy in Rumble Pit and just flail on melee and nades?
Yep. My very first Rumble Pit match on Cubed began with me spawning directly across from another player and immediately killing them. :lol

True story. I was going to bring that up and bitch about but I don't want to be one of those forum guys anymore.

Agreed. My melee lunge... I miss it...

And sorry I didn't join back in. I lagged out or something during the Blood Gulch match and gave up. Halo 3 spoiled me.

Alright, I've got to redownload 3 of the 4 map packs, but they are all the small ones. The 5 map one is fine.

So everyone needs to stay one for awhile longer so I can play on the best game ever created.

Broken.

This. The sword lunge makes Oozer a sad boy. Though the ridiculous magnetism was fun. I felt powerful with a sniper rifle for the first time in a long time.

I've had more fun playing AR starts on Orbital than all the Halo 2 matches I just played. The game is marketedly outclassed by Halo 3 in almost every single way.

No contest.

Does anyone try to get people together for certain playlists at certain skill levels? I'm 32 for Team Slayer, 26 for Team Objective, and about a six or a seven for both MLG and Squad Battle. Or if anyone needs a noob for Team Doubles, I might do that. If all else fails, back to one game of big team on Avalanche per week.

What's with all of the Halo 2 hate? I love that game, so much fun. The BR and sniper freakin rape. I played a custom on Headlond while waiting for you guys to get out of matchmaking. The Warthog in Halo 2 is SO MUCH BETTER then the one in Halo 3. The one in H3 is like a damn elephant compared to the H2 Hog. Pure bliss.

Halo 2 has its flaws though. The main one being the 20 foot sword lunge. I mean, wtf was Bungie thinking? Also, non BR starts on Foundation sucks. Those with the BRs will rape on that map. Plus, what's better then uber spaming a camping player with 8 grenades of death. I literally rained down grenades on some fools.

Am I the only one that realized that we found a BTB match in Halo 2 faster then we could in Halo 3?

Halo 2's warthog over Halo 3's warthog? I feel like I'm spraying confetti being on the gunner seat of Halo 2's warthog :/

Halo 2's warthog may be faster but it's turning radius is horrid compared to 3's. So in that sense 2's felt like an elephant.

Halo 2's strong point was and always will be the maps. There isn't any weapon balance since they nerfed a lot of things (Needler and Magnum). The vehicles are pretty good, and the Gauss isn't over-powered as Halo 3's version. But the core gameplay is still five years old and Halo 3 does a lot of better things right (better weapon balance, removed battery from Sword, reduced grenade count). Still, though, maps and game-types differ and that's where certain people will disagree. Halo 2's maps and game variants like 3 Plots really are missed from the action in 3.

As for the Warthog, I liked the speed/turning much more in 2 than 3. Though it's no test when it comes to the turret, and even the durability of 3's is stronger, or at least it feels that way. Probably why Ninja 0n Fire switched to the Gauss Hog more in larger map battles, like Terminal and Containment.

I dunno, I prefer to drive the warthogs and not to gun, as I suck at that. The Halo 2 Warthog is just a ton more fun to drive around. Maybe it's just that it accelerates faster. I know that the H2 gun is weak, but I personally think that the Gaus and chain guns on the H3 warthogs are way too overpowered.

I didn't notice a real difference in turning radius, but then again I wasn't really looking for that either. I do know that Headlong is the best map ever created, though.

This. If you wanna have strong vehicle weapons, fine, but don't screw the people on foot over with stickies that only take out a vehicle 50% of the time or less. That's just mean. "but but but they're vehicles. they should be stronger..." It should be a high risk/reward. Yeah, get into a vehicle because it's powerful, can move around real fast, and can rack up fast kills, but if you get stuck you should die. That's real game-play balance. There is almost no risk in riding around in vehicles, and that is a big reason why the vehicles have taken over Halo3. It requires 2 laser shots to kill a tank. What is that? I don't care if it's a tank, it's overpowered and should have a weakness. But it doesn't. That hurts the game.

Coagulation is overrated? Even in Halo 2's heyday, I couldn't find anybody who thought Coagulation was anymore than Blood Gulch's fat ass, retarded little brother.

almost every way

There's some undeniable classic maps in Halo 2 but then there's also some overrated ones.
Coagolation
And underrated ones:
Waterworks

Coag was best played for 8v8 or 7v7 Mutli-CTF, Multi-Bomb, or Neutral Bomb. Everything else there was not as compelling.

Coagulation was fucking awesome. Learning how to work the spawns and just totally demolish a team on that map was just a work of beauty. Really, it's just a shame that none of you could experience how to play an 8v8 against a real team of players. Halo2 BTB before the standbying and update was just so much fun. Staying up until 3:00 AM playing against the other top teams in BTB just trying to obtain the rank of level 20 haha god those were the good days. I really miss those days :'(

Getting a rank of mid 20's, a 30, or even mid to high 30's was a joy for me in Halo 2. That number actually meant something, at least then, before cheating erupted. Before that occurred, when you seen a 30+ guy, they were most likely a damn good player. In Halo 3, you will encounter tons of 50's who are terrible. Hopefully they go back to a more strict, challenging rank system for the next Halo FPS.

Ah yes... Halo2 BTB. That was indeed a fun time. I want to say I got up to about level 32 while it was still ranked and the games were very competitive and very fun. If you went down 0-2 in a flag or bomb game, it was very rare to see someone quit out of a game. People were into it and even losing games were entertaining.

Ummm all of you shut the fuck up.

How about the fact that the Halo 2 BR actually killed the other other player if you AIMED at them.

I drew a picture:

Basically H2 > H3. H3 noobified so more noobs can play it. Face that. Face it hard.

I'm looking at that picture and I have no idea what point you are trying to make with it. I'm going to contact some cryptographers, maybe they can figure it out.

You might not be that bright if you can't figure it out.

The logic is great until you take 5 seconds and think about it. Halo 1 is considered to take the most skill out of all 3, so did they make it and think "Damn, the pros are gonna love this shit". I'm pretty sure they just made a game. I think I remember hearing it didn't even have multiplayer until a couple weeks before it went gold.

You're getting nostalgia from Halo 2. Host won. The same people always won MLG because they were always seeded with the host. Halo 2 was also probably designed with the same mindset as Halo 1, just make a game. If they were worried about it having some huge artificial curve then it wouldn't have come with mega pistols and the spread BR.

Halo 3 is Halo 2 with better graphics and more tuning. I think Halo 3 MP is the vision they had for 2, with less time constraints. Why in gods name would someone sit down and look at a game and go "Millions of people buy this game, but we need to make it easier for people to get good at it in its multiplayer, let's fuck some shit up".

Take that elitest attitude and your little fucking theorycraft picture and go to mlgpro.com/forums.

Umm, I'm pretty sure I'm the one who beat everyone in an FFA. Then afterwards left to go do real life activities?

The fact I theorize one game involves more skill than another game makes you that upset?

The very definition of balance in an online game is to allow average players to have fun when playing against better players. It is easier for the majority of players to feel like they achieved something in multiplayer. This is by design. It does not mean that the better players will not win.

Your issue here is that you're comparing being good at Halo 2 with being good at Halo 3. Playing 3 like 2 will not work, because it's a different game. If you think Halo 2 was better, go and play it. It still works exactly the same as it always did.

Thats because they cheated to get to level 50 in the first place. I think at the end of the day, I really enjoy playing Halo 3, for the 300 matches I have played so far. I think the most awesome thing would be to have a HALO on 360 that looks as good or close to Killzone... not starting a debate here. Also I usually play Lone Wolfs, is there a team oriented mode that I can try.

Definitely. I can't even go back and play Halo 2 for no more than a couple of hours thanks to Halo 3. Halo 3 is just a better game in terms of weapons balance, gameplay, and vehicles (those things really make all the difference). I prefer the maps on Halo 3, really because I don't understand the love for Terminal or Headlong.

Someone buy me a new 360. Thanks.
If you're really that desperate, I have two extra 360s lying around.:lol

I understand the current argument but personally I enjoyed Halo 2 more. I feel that the campaign is much more engaging, the multiplayer maps are some of the best in the series and the playlists were great during its second and third year.

It also has its cons: standbying, glitching objects through walls, modding and playlist updates were few and far between. But I had a better experience with Halo 2 because Halo was still pretty fresh and exciting for my friends and I.

IMO, Halo 3 is a great game but its not as compelling just because it feels like an update to Halo 2 and I'm slowly getting tired of the same weapons, grenades and the sub par maps.

And no, I'm not going to comment on the which game is more PRO. That's just an ignorant.

And yet, isn't the reason the pistol in Halo2 was noobified compared to what it was in Halo:CE "supposedly" because it only appealed to the hard core gamers? Bungie used the word unbalanced. I interpret that as, "all the people who are good at halo are going to demolish the newcomers to the game. So it would be a good idea to change it for the purpose of leveling the playing field." So in reality, what you claim is ludicrous, really happened. I'm confident that the same issue was also a factor in the outcome of Halo3, perhaps a tad less, because Halo had been around for a while at that point.

Whoa whoa whoa...that was a bullshit FFA. It started with 4 people where you and I got off ahead of the other 2 and then a bunch more people flooded in. I got lagged out for the 352nd time and then didn't join back in. That's the reason you won that FFA lol. I just had to make that clear. I'm down for a rematch tonight if my internet will cooperate.

What's the Double XP this weekend?
Griffball, however it is only Heroic DLC required so it is rare that you will get Griffball on a Mythic map.

Also, my Swat ability seems to have multiplied significantly since I changed my sensitivity to 5. It feels so much easier to target people quickly. I too prefer Halo 3 to 2 as coming from playing shooters on PC back then, the amount of auto aim in Halo 2 felt like the game was playing itself for me. I much prefer Halo 3's more disguised aim assist.
