Heretic you could probably join them if you wanted - we just tried and it was lagging like crazy, and I feel like it's my connection that's the culprit.

Just had a game of Save One Bullet on Spooky House, and I don't have the Bulltrue achievement yet. First round, I'm the zombie, and I forget that the leader is the alpha next turn. So I went three rounds without being a human :(

It seems like every game of TS on Orbital goes like this: Rush rockets, camp that area, wait around the corners and throw grenades until you get kills. It's terrible. I hate it.

Ugh, sometimes I wish that Bungie would've limited the amount of grenades that you start with even more.
Grenades from fallen players should disappear quicker. It's mainly the ones lying around that cause so much headaches. I'm happy it's two a piece, and not four. Ugh.

I think it should also be map specific. The nades from a dead player on orbital should disappear before they touch the ground.

Yeah, the ones on Valhalla or AValanche, for example, aren't a big threat. Standoff, the same way. But I think for smaller maps like Orbital, Narrows, and Isolation, they should. Not expecting this to change though (same for flag respawns -_-).

I submitted an online repair request Sunday. Today I recieve an email that I have to call 4myxbox to "confirm details". Talk to a robot for a bit, then talk to a lady with a ridiculous lisp. She says "the system" doesn't recognize the address I gave as a real address. I assure her that it's real and that I'm not trying to send a box nowhere. She asks again if it's the correct address. I tell her that I habitually receive packages and mail from this address. I gain her trust.

I give her all the info over again and she says I should receive the box in another 3-5 business days, and that if I don't it's because the address isn't valid.

Blockout is indeed very cool, however it has some places where grenades will fall through the map. Not sure if he can still fix those areas. (Lift structure corners)

Would anyone give a crap if I were to rework the rest of my old Quarantine (zombeh) maps and possibly work on the rest of the maps that I haven't done yet?

I'll most likely go through and give each map a proper name and description as well instead of the generic stuff they have now. Just in the mood to do more forging, but just don't have the proper inspiration to create a whole map from scratch at the moment.

I'll put em on the list if that's what you're asking. I'm not a big infection guy but people play it in customs and if they're good I'm sure some will enjoy them.

You can find those faults in every Sandbox map. People limited to a hard count or budget, and it's bound not to be absolutely perfect.

Actually the first couple on my fileshare are in the format that I want. The ones that have "Defense" and "Rush" in the title, but like I said before, I'm going to go through and give them proper names before they are final.

People really seem to enjoy my High Ground version at the moment, and a few of the older maps were listed on Bungie's Favorites when Ascendant Justice was listed last year.

They don't have to be on that list, I actually don't even know what that list if for actually other than to show the people here what's been made. Atlus doesn't accept Infection gametypes anyway, I've only made these maps for fun anyhow.
 
I finally got all my debts paid and I have some cash to burn. Is it too late to get into this game? I want to pick this up along with Gears 2. How "friendly" is this game to entry-level players online?

You'll do fine with other newbies.

Sadly you'll also run into quite a few second-accounters (normally very good players trying to get an easy 50 skill level) but that's just the way it is now.

The community is still very large and active. Since the game is still selling well each month, there's plenty of new low-level players for you to be matched up against online, and there's GAF customs each weekend and other GAFers online each night you can join so you're not going in solo. We - well, every else, I suck - will carry ya.

Jump in. The water's fine.

I don't have a 360 now and won't for a while so maybe you could just couple of screen caps of how you guys were able to get out. I can't fix it until I get my 360 shipped and returned so take your time.

We were able to get out in the spot that you know about in addition to another spot, without butterfly jumping. It's possible to rocket jump off of someone's head at rockets onto the very top of the map. Tashi's going to make a video to show you.

So if the game is over, and the only thing happing is the scoreboard is up against a black background, and below that it says, "Connecting...", do you lose XP if you just quit to dash to get out of it? Because I've been stuck here for five minutes now. :\
 
Just got a friend request from someone named: Guns Corleone, just wondering if it is anyone here on GAF, if not I'm just gonna delete it. because it I've never played with a guy by that name.
 
Here are the 3 maps I was able to get out of. Ber Ber Custom(2 ways), Sanctum(different than how Shishka got out and Mage. I also got out of Turf V3 but I forgot to capture it. Grimm, it's by brute shot spawn between warthog and garage, a simple grenade jump can get you right outside of the map. I'm sure there are a lot of other ways to get out as well on that map just because it isn't a very tall map.

Yeah mine's never going into Atlas. I simply don't have the resources to close off everything.

Oh well, I think it's still good fun to play on customs and LAN.

lol I was thinking about adding music, but then I thought the game audio would be fine...but then the audio wasn't captured for some reason...whack!
 
Wow... I never thought about the ways of jumping over double walls like that.

I guess this proves that maps that have walled off areas will never be truly fit for matchmaking.

vhfive and others.... What about re-imagining your maps so that you don't need to wall off stuff like that?

Eh, I now fear for my latest map since it has a roof type area that is supposed to be sealed off. (I'll have to post it here later) I've tested it for every single exploit that I know and it none have worked so far.
 
It's one of the reasons I don't use walls to lock off areas - people seem to be able to climb anything. Of all four maps I've built to completion - Sandstorm, Centrifugal, Elevation and Entrenched - all of the surface area is intended to be walked on. Entrenched is a bit of an exception, but I put the top of the outside walls three blocks high to try and prevent climbing. Though looking at that first weird mating dance jump, it might be possible that way. WTF.
 
I agree. It's probably best to simply not attempt to block off any spots in maps built in the crypt. With the hard count and budget limiting a user's creativity, it hinders what he/she can and cannot do.

At least in the main floor and the skybox these things can't linger. Would've been nice if somehow a person building the map in Forge can put an invisible area blocking off spots they do not want accessed, similar to the Halo 3 maps themselves.
