So I liked Centrifugal a lot. I don't know how much KevinRo changed or if that was Ghaleons original version, but with a bit of changes that could be a map that would make it into MM.

Suggestion:

Put two pieces somewhere between the base and middle on the bottom level on both sides, for players to stand behind when getting shot by players up top on the wood planks.

Ber Ber Creek was good.

Wizlock was awesome.

Now that the US has pulled out a miracle of a draw in El Salvador despite playing the worst game I've ever seen them play, I can get on for customs.

I was playing customs with everybody, then left for a few minutes to eat dinner. When I cam back like 5-10 minutes later, everyone was gone. I was sad.

You're the glue that holds us together.:D

I got the invites for customs you guys sent out but I rented RE5 and I am trying to get as much out of the game before I return it on Monday. Right now I'm hooked on it especially with unlimited rocket launcher ammo. So much destruction and zombie death. :D

For anyone that cares:

We played 3 games on user created sandblox maps tonight. Wizlock, EBCreak, and Centriflux.

Here are the file shares if anyone cares:

Wizlock

EBCreak

Centriflux

And here are the screenshots of the remix version I did of Ghaleons Centrifugal that I named Centriflux:

Playing and beating alt accounts in Doubles is awesome. It's more enjoyable to hear them complain afterwards.

That said, I need to finish my map some day. :|

thanks to everyone about the music!!

i have a last question... ive looked arount but could find what is that "watermark" that appears sometimes after peoples name... in this picture it can be seen next to the guy second from the bottom.

Bungie.net member. You sign up at Bungie.net, link your gamertag, then go into options and click Halo 3 Emblem Show and click the circle then save changes. You might have to sign in and sign out before changes occur.

Didn't they change it a while back to show the emblem by default at sign-up, to increase Linktaculars?

EDIT: Also, I've started considering the Brute Shot as an anti-vehicle weapon only. The only real advantage it has otherwise is in close combat because of the Brute melee.

Did we ever get a March playlist update? I'm playing BTB for the first time in a few weeks and it's one Heavies game after another...I thought Heavies was going to be tweaked. I'm taking to just quitting most of them because they're such a clusterfuck; Heavies on Standoff three times in a row last night. :(

Lucky! I love Standoff Heavies.

March updates I believe are all minor changes not being detailed, I think he posted that somewhere on bungie.net optimatch section...maybe that was another month not sure.

oh word, I totally forgot. I can't wait to play the new updated gametypes. No more Pit Hill and Lockdown should be cool. Construct now has an overshield, that's going to change that map pretty drastically.

Okay, I'm hoping that some of you guys can explain this: Whenever I play Ranked Doubles with any of my friends in split-screen, it always seems like their ranks go up faster than mine. For instance...

- Me and a buddy played 9 games last night and won 7 of them.
- I started at Rank 8 and he started at Rank 20
- By the end of the night, I was Rank 11 and he was Rank 28, meaning he went up 8 ranks while I went up 3.
- The K/D spread was pretty even throughout most of the game, with us trading off who got more kills.

I'm not sure if there's something wrong with how ranks are distributed or if his rank goes up faster because he is already higher than me.

If you don't wanna read that the answer is you've probably played more team doubles games than he has and your value that changes your level is lower.

Man, how the hell are teams assigned in multi-team games? Just played Rocket Race with a party of six, and four times in a row we got the same team-mates. I guess great if it works, but I got stuck with the eight-year-old who had no idea what was going on every time.

Didn't stop us going 10-3-0-0 on Standoff, though.

It's one of the least vetoed gametypes. Why would they tweak it?

Shishka said they were going to tweak it. I LOVE the idea of heavies, but there are way too many lasers.

EazyB said:

Pretty much. It seems to average about three or four vetoes when I play it. But even knowing the futility of it one more lament:

This has been my matchmaking in the past two days since taking a break to work on Sandbox maps (my last matchmaking was on March 8th):

2 Flag Heavy
Big Team Slayer
Big Team Slayer Heavy
Neutral Assault
Big Team Slayer Heavy
2 Flag Heavy

Multi Flag CTF
Big Team Slayer Heavy
Big Team Slayer Heavy

Neutral Assault
2 Flag Heavy
Big Team Slayer
One Bomb
Big Team Slayer
Big Team Slayer
Big Team Slayer Heavy
Multi Flag CTF
Big Team Slayer Heavy
2 Flag Heavy
2 Flag Heavy

Big Team Slayer
Big Team Slayer Heavy

12/22, or 55%. I don't think Heavies was ever vetoed. So it's popular, and Bungie's giving people what they want here. But I swear I read that Shishka was going to tweak the lasers on it, so part of the reason for my Forge break was to let that roll into effect and then come back.

I won't be playing Halo matchmaking again until it's done, since BTB is all I play; it's really a miserable experience right now. I had about five enjoyable games in that entire set. I'll come back when it's modified or reduced.

I think it gets vetoed so rarely because it's one of the few BTB gametypes that allow a player to succeed when lone wolfing. They don't need to work with their team to set up and control power weapons such as the laser or rockets (both weapons everyone loves to get their hands on in normal BTB games). Instead they simply need to chill in their base for 10-20 seconds for one of the 3 lasers or rockets to respawn, set up somewhere half decent, and wait for a kill.

The clusterfuck is what people enjoy about it. And I'm pretty sure if I didn't always go into BTB only when I had 5-8 guys in my party I may enjoy the fact that I can forget about my team and just blow shit up.

Yeah Shishka will get on that once he finishes putting Sandbox forge maps into matchmaking.........

I'm a simple man. I like it when stuff goes boom, and I've spent a lot of time just savoring delicious explosions, in films and in the pictorials I post here (and more). I play BTB almost entirely for the vehicular encounters, rockets, lasers oh my. It's the implementation that gets me.

In Heavies, you've got lots of vehicles for people to go out on their lonesome, not just weapons; Scorpions, Wraiths, Choppers, Hornets, not to mention the Warthogs. I see guys cruising around on Prowlers without a gunner looking for a splatter in most games, even knowing there's nine lasers, a couple of tanks and some rockets coming their way soon. So I think you're right in your assessment of why it's fun, but it's not just the weapons.

But I still don't understand why lasers are seen as the primary anti-vehicle weapon in Heavies. The vehicles largely balance themselves out, and situations where one team takes control of many of them could be addressed in other ways. The major consequence is a deterioration of infantry combat, since lasers are used as often to take out guys on foot as much as making stuff go boom. I think there's a host of ways to balance Heavies that doesn't involve wreaking the infantry combat the way walking through a field of red sight lines does.

Because Shishka doesn't play Halo. He doesn't play Heavies. He doesn't play BTB. HE DOESN'T PLAY HALO AND HE RUNS THE PLAYLISTS.

I can't wait for the Microsoft developed Halo 4.

be quiet over there community, I know you want Team Snipers but I need to finish my masterpiece first. I am Michelangelo and the playlists are my Sistine Chapel. the kids will love me for this new idea. Head to Head. 1v1 mmm take that MLG kids who want BRs. doesn't get anymore hardcore than this.

*strokes beard*

hrm to top off this genius playlist update I'll reduce BR starts on Standoff. yes. I have done it. my magnum opus.

*logs onto WoW at 9:30AM on a Monday*

No you see the map is called Standoff because of what occurs when both teams have BRs, but that is ludicrous to me. The AR is the perfect starting weapon. Wait. I've got it. The idea has hit me. I am like Edison with this dev kit. The genius emanates from me like the Dorito smell from my cubicle.

A pistol starting weapon. Two sides pistoling each other across Standoff is technically a Standoff... This is stunning. Should I submit my work to Nature or NewScience? I have also placed a single pistol in the back of the base should one player require it. Yes, this is it. My year of college and childhood LEGO skill has coalesced into a matchmaking intellect that can't be touched. Oh what's that? ForgeHub is creating maps in Forge? Those cretins, I'll show them who's the boss after I finish this raid.

The thing is nothing is ever going to change.

Even though Shishka does jack shit to the playlists the game is so better than the rest of the crap out there that everyone who likes FPS's will continue to play Halo.

It appears as if Shishka is doing a good job keeping the online population up because Bungie made a great game. You could fire Shishka and put a sexdoll in his cubicle and there would still be 250K+ Online everyday.

Agreed. And the worst thing is that Bungie itself recognizes Shishka as being successful when he's really not doing anything.

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but is his job really that difficult? To put up a double xp playlist every Thursday, especially one that is more than likely being reused? And if he doesn't actually play the game (1500 games, wtf, he gets paid to play video games...), what the hell does he do?

Shishka obviously works on other projects currently. There is no way that the only thing his job has him do is update playlists, especially when he really isn't even doing that at all.
