Fun fact: Here in the UK, Golden Grahams have recently been rebranded as 'Curiously Cinnamon'
What really? I live in the UK and I always thought we had Golden Grahams and Cinnamon Grahams. Perhaps they changed the Cinnamon Grahams to 'Curiously Cinnamon' and changed Golden Grahams to 'Curiously Golden' or even better 'Curiously Graham'!:lol

so why are people allowed to go into multi team with a group greater than 2? I entered with my buddy and we got split up on the first game by some guy and his two guests and clearly my guest teammate wasn't trying to win. That was the only game of multiteam i played that night >.<

I feel your pain. It can be frustrating to be on the receiving end of a party that got split up. Whatever came of the Grifball experiment that one DBL EXP weekend where they were testing a feature to work to keep social parties together? Granted that won't help when the party that joins is larger than one team, but I would still like to know.

Parties are no longer split in the grifball playlist. Hurray?

They really need to get rid of the party split shit. Take an extra minute or two to find a couple additional people instead wasting my time by splitting a party up and making the next 10 minute match a disaster.

I don't recall if it worked or not, I just remember reading about it. I totally agree on the preventing parties from being split. It usually leads to a frustrating match, people getting booted, etc.

i still have not heard why parties larger than 4 are allowed in Grifball - i am sure there is a reason, i just have not heard it yet - it would prevent most forms of boosting and some intentional betrayal sessions if the party size was max'd at at 4

and, this page makes me sad - i have recently developed an intolerance to corn and now cannot enjoy most of the cereals mentioned here - especially Capt'n Crunch and Frosted Flakes...even Honey Nut Cheerio's have corn in them

Yeah, they are still split in grifball. That was only for one weekend when they weren't split. I don't really understand why this isn't being fixed.

This is true; it split us two up in one of the two games we played last time it was a weekend playlist. I was not amused. I try to play as little Social as possible and this is one of the reasons why.
Lopsided games is another reason

It's a social playlist. If you want us to treat it like a ranked playlist, say so, but be prepared for the consequences.

What would the consequences be? Slightly longer search times? Ranked matches (other than higher ranked SB ones) usually match up pretty quick. Just curious.

Consequences? How about you just tell us what that means instead of being all mysterious. We just don't want to be split up in a social playlist. Really doesn't seem like all that much to ask..

Everyone knows what that means: Expect people to start taking it super seriously and doing whatever they can (glitching/boosting) to get to a 50. And expect longer wait times while the system tries to match up "same-skill" parties.

And holy crap, some of you guys are rude. It'd be funny if it wasn't so embarassing.

How many people are you going into Grifball games with when you are getting split?

Showing a rank wouldn't be necessary. Bungie has said before that social playlists have a rank to them as well it just isn't visible and the matching criteria based on that rank are far less restrictive than ranked matches.

Well that's taking it a step further and making a social hopper ranked. Of course I'm ignorant of all that's involved in the matchmaking processes for each respective playlist but couldn't they tweak it in a way that maintains the fast matchmaking of Social yet prevents splitting?

I don't see why they'd have to start including ranks and especially visible ones (in response to your "getting a 50"). If you go into BTB as full party of 8, don't start the game until 8 other people are found. If you go in as 7, make sure an additional person is added to that team before adding a bunch of even numbered parties in the room. I fail to see how getting rid of party splitting results in a playlist being ranked unless that's just some arbitrary constraint in the MM process that only allows fulling ranked games to have no team splitting (and in that case guests wouldn't be allowed either).

Guests causing the split?

We didn't have any guests and were still split.

And we're not talking about making Grifball ranked.. that would be a terrible idea imo. I'm just asking for a ranked-style of non-party splitting.

Rumble slayer on Lockout, pre patch with weak grenades and slow matchmaking. Good times. Hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since then, time FLIES!

i miss the good old days of halo 2
Well you sort of abandoned Halo 3 like the plague. :lol

And Blackout is a fine map. Just like Lockout.

Naw, as far as I've been able to tell, having an account with two guests as a lone party is the same as having three unique accounts in a party. I was just along with the social - splitting = ranked thing.

I could understand if going into Social playlists with less than a "full team" (i.e. 4 looking for Social Slayer or 7 looking for BTB) or (obviously) more than is a "full team" would result in some split parties. You can't always find an equal party quickly. I don't really have a gripe with that. What annoys me is when you have a party of 5 guys and you want a Social Slayer match, you search, it finds 3 more people, then starts, 4v4. WTF is that all about? thats just not right man. And it happens too regularly to be a non-issue. Thats the times it annoys me. If that could be stopped, I'd have no problems with the matchmaking system. Its the best one there is, on a console, lets be honest!

Well, not identical to Blackout, but it is definitely a fine map. I have yet to have a serious spawn issue with the map since the update and I like the flow. There are definite line of sight changes, but some are improvements. For example, now you can fire and toss grenades into the bottom of snipe from the corner near sword. You couldn't do that in Halo 2.

Halo 3 just isn't the same for me. Great game but it's a different vibe.

It just ain't the same without characters like DotheMario, games4life, Iron, Dopey being dopey, etc. etc. etc.

fucking good times, so many hours wasted, all nighters pulled off.

Halo 2's a classic for me. Life was so much simpler back then at 16 years old :lol

yo yo yo...MLG released V6 gametypes and maps...go get em...also, when can we see these changes in the MLG playlist? Theres a new map called Lockdown which I haven't checked out yet so Bungie may not let it in to matchmaking (because it probably uses glitching techniques done in forge
or are those allowed in matchmaking...amplified???
but hopefully the rest gets added soon.
