I haven't read much about the flashback parts but those aren't what interest me. What I'm interested in is seeing hub world and the complete sandbox style it should have similar to levels like Halo and The Silent Cartographer. Weapon-centric levels 343 and the library don't appeal to me much. I'm cool with being handed a sniper at the beginning of T&R and it being a fun weapon to use for the first half but those thrills are sort lived personally.Cocopjojo said:Nah, dude, it's gonna be just like we've always known. The beginning of Truth and Rec was a sniper level, 343 Guilty Spark was a shotgun level, the middle of the Ark was a vehicle level. I don't think they're going to hand us a Laser and then have Ghost after Ghost drive by for us to shoot and then the level ends. And then they hand us a sniper and Jackals pop up one by one in the windows of a building and when you hit them all, that level ends. I'm sure there will be a variety of weapons available to you, but the level itself will be vehicle-heavy, rooftop-centric, or tight corridored. Which is what a level is. It's a level and it has an environment that persists through it.
I know the flashbacks make for an easier way to show some nice scripted even or tell a story but I'd rather it all be within a single cohesive open-world game. Who know, they could pull it off in a manner that totally changes my mind but the thought of the game existing totally within one world, continuously, and through the eyes of a single character with any weapons he finds from mission to mission is just appealing to me.
