This is why I drive Warthogs, and not play MLG.

Lol, I like a healthy mix of both. Depending on what mood I am in, I will either jump into BTB or MLG/Snipers (usually snipers as it is the best playlist out there). I'm sort of bipolar when it comes to Halo.

The best part of Halo is being in a full 16 person party and romping in games on Valhalla, IMO. Custom games are the most competitive (in terms of skill balance) and most fun things to do in Halo.

You know, it's actually possible he is a cousin of mine. I've never met, nor do I know the names (or gametags, for that matter) of them. Maybe I should arrange a reunion.

Ghaleon, I'm your father.

OT:
Dead Rising 2 coming this year, FUCK YES. :D

My friend who hasn't been on Halo 3 for over a year was online yesterday and asked me to play MLG.

I got called a noob for not knowing what "open" and "closed" were on Construct. I only found 3 weapons on any map (BR, rockets, and sniper rifle). I also got told to go back to social slayer because of my lack of knowledge of callouts. I guess being a rank 5 with 2 exp in MLG means I should know everything like the back of my hand. :lol

There is one upside to MLG, objective games come up fairly frequently. That part was nice.

Yeah, just talk to your friends, tune the rest out (mute or private party).

I'm probably in the minority on this one but here goes: please take the sniper rifles out of Standoff Heavies. No sniper rifle on the map in other gametypes is one of the inspired design decisions on that map. Adding them in Heavies is pure pain. It completely breaks the map.

Yea, Snipers can run wild with a Gauss Hog, Banshee, and 15 lasers. :lol

I always get those mixed up too. Window-side is closed, right?

Nope, side with the glass is open side, precisely because that side is open for enemies to walk up the ramp.

And lol Fin, that one game that we had on Standoff last night was fucking hilarious. First the guy staring at me with a shotgun in a bubble shield, waiting for me to walk in, and you go around and assassinate him and then the Warthog explosion... hilarious game. Sometimes I love Halo.

Edit: Hahaha, Dani comes through. I assume that's the same game?

It's incredibly easy to get a sniping spree going on that map. There are two snipers with really fast respawns at each base and if you grab one (or two of them) and set up shop at the back of the base you're pretty well set. If you get out sniped by one of the laser's you deserve to die and unless the teams are so unbalanced that the guass hog (and even more so the banshee) is able to roam freely without being lasered than the spawning snipers are great ways to get perfections.

But yeah, the snipers aren't the most broken thing about Standoff Heavies, just one of the many.

See that's a dumb way to name something. I call it Window-side, which is makes sense because there is a window there, and Open-side which is open, because there is no window. Easy right?

But yeah that beat-down kill would've made a good gif.

Mimic left a lasting impression last night on the enemy team with his wild hog driving. How the hell you did it, I dunno.
That was me driving.:D

Of course. =)

Remember our shitty Multi-team matches? Yeah, but, after watching some again, I think we had our moments. :lol

Yeah, Multi-Team is fun to sit back and shoot the shit in. And did I throw that sticky or did you? I think at one point I launched one at a guy up on the tower and just missed. Must've been this one.

One side settled in with two lasers and their sniper perched on the back of their base, with full view of ours. Our vehicles were toasted as they spawned, and the (very good) sniper was picking us off like mad. We couldn't get range and counter sniping was ineffective due to their vehicles going mad taking our guys out. So it's a mix, but the sniper is what broke it, and regularly does.

I rarely find myself cursing the other teams sniper on Standoff Heavy...

Cursing at the other teams Gaus Hog on the other hand after it eats 2 rockets, a laser, and a brute shot directly on the other hand... :lol

Actually, Ghal, I think that their setup ruined that game for you, and not the sniper. If you give any solid team, that knows what they're doing, full map control, then you're pretty much screwed, regardless if they have a sniper or not.

I agree. If you take away their sniper, they still have laser control and complete vehicle domination. But if you take away the lasers, you can use your vehicles, which the sniper has little to no effect on.

"Laser control" has no business coming up during the subject of Heavies. Unless of course it is to say, "there is no laser control in Heavies."

Snipers are going to rack up kills in a Standoff Heavies match because unless the teams are heavily unbalanced there's no reason any vehicles should go beyond 30 seconds before being lasered.

This sounds like it was the case.

It's a good deal for a 60GB 360 and two games.
Your knowledge of the Swedish Krona is amazing.

2795 kr is a lot of krona but a premium system is 2399 kr so you really are getting two of the best Halo games for a mere 396 kr. I mean what a steal!

What do you say Dax, lets go half in on a bundle. I have 1398 kr that's burning a whole in my pocket. We'll trade off weeks and I get it the first week since it was my idea.

Might be the case. I play exclusively as a solo dude in matchmaking, and often run into squads playing as a team. Which...unbalances things. The gap can be closed more easily in objective games than slayer, in my experience. But on Standoff that kind of thing happens at least half the time I play Heavies on it.

FWIW, I like the Heavies setup on Sandtrap and Avalanche (though they are a touch heavy on the lasers). I think Standoff is hurt by the sniper rifles (or maybe that's just my head getting hurt by the snipers), and Valhalla is really hosed because of the lasers. Though Shishka hinted that's being looked at.

My anecdotal experience is in line with what he said about Heavies: they don't get vetoed. Last night the Heavies games got only a couple votes each. Explosions are fun.
