Nah, this is Microsoft's FIRST TGS keynote. A keynote.

Think big, my friend. Much much bigger. Maps can be saved for Bnet revealing.

TGS is saved for teh scope.
 
HaloGAF will be all ready for a big Bungie announcement and then the news will turn out to be a Square Enix-Mistwalker joint project and the rest of GAF will melt.
 
Mr. Theory just keeps getting hyped everytime, and drags the rest of us into the hype train.

Square x Microsoft x Bungie help = Halo RPG, control MC in his teenage years (dressed in 20 million zippers) as he grows up from his emo years where pain was his friend.
 
Got my 7 on 7th achievement, and a road rage achievement while I was trying for it. Took for ever. I was closest on DLC BTB (just needed 2 exp) but I played for a whole hour and didn't get one single exp. every game I played, my team sucked or quit. Switched over to icy treats and started from scratch. Still lost half my games but I eventually got the achievement with 20 minutes to spare.

Just a guess, but maybe it's some bug caused because you're still on 1000 Gs but have 51 achievements. Try getting one of the new point-scoring achievements, if you have the Legendary maps. Double Double is really easy in DLC FFA.

Tonight at 11PM EST, the MS keynote begins which is supposedly going to feature the Bungie game. So yes, if we are talking semantically, it might be 12:01 October 9th when they show the game, but you get my drift that tonight is the night.

So I reiterate.

I think we'll just get more details on SI, which isn't a bad thing; leaving the maps for another day. Of course, I would prefer to get information on both.

It isn't Bungie. It is Xbox Live, and nobody has said anything about a fix yet.

Actually, it IS your connection - or, more specifically, your astoundingly crappy ping. All the upload and download speed in the world won't help if the signal takes so long to get from one box to another that LIVE thinks you lagged out.

(Check some of the other speedtest results in this thread - a few pages back. They range from 7 to maybe the mid-20s. You're an order of magnitude above the WORST of those.)

I think Theater mode is more strict about that stuff, because synching is so important - I play sometimes with a guy in Kazakhstan, and his ping sometimes goes over 500, and he can still stay in the game, usually. (He doesn't DO very well, though.)

The XP issues were a little heartbreaking last night. I had 6 XP in Team Slayer and I was saving it for the 7th. I go into a game, start playing well. Pretty soon, the ENTIRE opposite team disconnect, leaving me with no XP gain. Fuck. So I go again into TS. This time we utterly stomp the other team, great game. However, this time I get 2 xp for my sins, sailing me right past 7 exp! Next I tried joing a game and quitting out to lose a point - nada, I did it twice and then got scared that the MC Banhammers were going to notice my suspicious playing pattern :lol

So... next month maybe? I'm gonna have to prime a couple of playlists that I don't often play to get ready for it....
 
So I became a Spartan Officer, the pin shows up in my bnet profile but I did not get the achievement. My exp is 87 and my skill is 10. What do I need to do to get the achievement?
 
Why the eff has Gamevee been down for so long? Are they trying to follow in Xbox Live's footsteps and suck even harder when they're back online?

I just got an external dazzle capture card from best buy for 39 bucks so I no longer have to use gamevee or anything else and it works great. OH YEAH!!!
 
only 10 and a half hours to go until the Microsoft conference and hopefully Bungie's announcement. Which will most likely be the last thing they show and will make us wait.

I think in one of the weekly updates it said that since the new update the achievement is glitched. It said that if you don't get it when your world rank changes then you'll have another opportunity to get it when you become a lieutenant in one of the individual playlists.

Is anyone streaming video of it?

Not a big deal - I assume if they show some video of Bungie's next game it'll also be up on Bungie.net and Marketplace but it'd be nice to watch the whole keynote speech.
 
You know I really love having the Superintendent wallpaper on my desktop for this type of event.

It has the words "PLEASE REMAIN CALM" in big friendly letters on it.

I'm wearing the Superintendent shirt today. Didn't even plan it that way, but it seems appropriate.

Also, I was so engrossed in the debate and fallout last night I forgot it was the 7th. There's always next month!

I got on last night and was like - hey I'll go for the 7 on 7 achievement. After about an hour I got my 7th experience point in Icy Treats and was like "cool", but when I exited the game I didn't get my achievement. I look at the clock - it's 7 minutes past midnight. Now October 8th. Damnit!

The color scheme, signatures and all the additional web feeds/APIs they allow users to post make it look terrible. After coming to GAF I'll never miss signatures again.

It is, every 7th day in a month, so one day a month unless their are two 7th days in a month, then you looking at one screwed up calender.
