I'm starting to fear that it's going to be a long wait before we get to play these new maps. God, how long ago were the Legendary ones released, it feels like ages. We've pretty much gotten a blowout on Assembly but haven't heard a word about the the other 5 (or was it 6?) other maps. I know that from a business standpoint Bungie (or more accurately MS) would want their disc to remain in people's homes for as long as possible so spacing the maps out as far as possible would ensure that fans kept going back every 6 months. But I don't want to wait 6 months, I don't want to be bored sick of the last pack before the new one touches ground. It's unrealistic but I'd rather have a wave of additional content so the entire experience feels new, even if that comes at the expense of shortening the game's overall lifespan.

And:
MM > Barbaric server lists
If you can't muster up a friends list big enough to do customs then you're probably a unpleasant person. Even I could fake like I enjoy someone enough so they'd want to play with me.

SP/Co-op achievements > MP achievements
Annual proves this. And go ahead and jump into DLC BTB to see what MP achievements do.

Coming from the guy dying to get the warthog achievement...

Some has a pussy gamerscore...
I'm talking about Ramirez

And Boom Blox > Battlefield: Bad Company

:lol This post is full of win.

And who at Bungie did I piss off that they removed my Recon? :( I haven't done anything wrong. I checked my armor today while I was roaming around the MP maps and only my chest-plate (non-Recon) loaded. If it's the lack of map pack gifting, I've been using my money lately on college books, food, etc.
Can you still choose it? I use the Security helmet, but several times I've gone into games lately and just loaded the Mark VI helmet, even though Security was still selected on my profile.

You cheap bastard!
Give me some points, bitch!
Haven't been putting out for Bungie enough lately eh? Mouth sore?
Bungie giveth and Bungie taketh away, fucker!

Maybe you have to be connected to XBL or something related to the fact that XBL is down.

It's probably because live is down and recon is tied to an online process.

You didn't piss anyone off - Recon's not available when you're not connected to LIVE.

Edit: beaten a lot of times. :(

Really? Oh damn. I didn't know that. I knew it was tied to something on Bungie's end, but I didn't know it was an Xbox Live thing.

Wow Eazy :(

I know more about recon than you do Mr. Omlet. Further proving why you don't deserve it.

No sorry I don't want any ketchup with my eggs.

So the current recon discussion reminded me of something I've been curious about for awhile. When all of you are messing around with your armor setting does the picture on the right randomly flip between what you have picked and the default armor? And relatedly, do you ever see that in a Live match your armor has arbitrarily switched back to default? Because both these things happen all to time to me, and it is frustrating.

That happens with my Elite armor when I'm just fooling around.

Very weird.

I wouldn't be surprised, given the rampant Spartan supremacy, if the Elite armor assets are tossed to the fringes of the disc; a cold place often skipped over by the laser. My Flight rarely ever loaded up correctly.

Literally use PM's.

That's quality discussion.
Because everyone just says "Game sucks" and never comes back into thread again, right?

Criticism should always be taken over "Welp, nothing I can do about this."

Either way way, Halo, good game right?

What? None of my buddies play Halo online. Friends don't automatically play video games. Are you kidding?

Yeah, it's really annoying when I want to use my cool Ascetic helmet and instead just get the boring normal one in matchmaking. One of these days I'll get the Commando head and get to have that be ignored during matchmaking instead.

I guess this form of Elite oppression isn't as bad as us being giant walking free headshots in Halo 2.

Luke, where thou art?

I have a question for you.

Is it just me or there hasn't been any updates to Bungie Favorites in a while? What's up with that?

I wasn't talking about close friends, or "RL" friends. I was talking about filling one's XBL friends list with people who regularly play Halo. Even better, if you go in with randoms and you manage to find someone decent, check their service record and see if they've logged a lot of custom games. If so, send them a friend's request and tell them you'd be interesting in getting in on the festivities.

Stay strong! One day I shall return and rekindle the revolution.

It takes a lot of doing to put up the epic-ocity that is Bungie Favorites: GAF Edition.

I dunno, I think random people who send friend requests are kinda creepy. I have played with a couple GAFer's, but even then there is usually one or two people who talk too much. And I keep getting put on the other team for some reason.....

Ethical question everyone! If you are put on an opposing team from your party, do you play as normal and try and win? Or try and subvert your own team?

It is kinda unfair to the other people on your team if you start blowing up your own hogs or something, but on the other hand, ganking your friends seems kinda low. What would you do?

Damn ... well, in that situation, I'd ask Thermite to fedex me a sandwich. Only solution, imo.

Mixed up team or not, my goal is to DESTROY the opposing team.

Quit as a showing of opposition to the allowance of Social Party Splitting. Its only been a burden of achievement boosting, and experience boosting. If a group has more than one half of a team they should go play customs or tell the odd men out sorry.

i usually just drive around on a mongoose the whole time
you're not hurting you're team and you're not killing your friends

unless these "friends" start killing you then you show those bitches whats up

Well you're not sending FRs to random people, it's only after playing with them for a little while and asking them first. You do this not because you plan to develop an everlasting bond between this person, you do so because they're fun to play with and you presumably really wanna play customs.

Most of the time I don't try if I know the odds are stacked against my team and trying would only delay the inevitable. By not trying I make their suffering end sooner. At least that's what I tell myself.

Still sounds odd. Maybe I am just an unpleasant person. Perhaps I should cut back on the House.

"The Platform" blew them away. They have to implement it into matchmaking before they'll put it up in Bungle Favorites.

Rite?

To gank or not to gank...

Gank, yo.

I wonder it it will get updated again once the new file share structure is rolled out. The team is probably crazy busy with stuff like that right now.

If you were playing a custom game with your friends, you'd have no trouble killing them, right?

Matchmaking dealt the cards - you play the hand you were given. If that means you're fighting against your friends, you fight against your friends. You're not honoring the game by teamkilling OR by holding off on killing your buds - just play. If your contribution helps the other team win, your friends just need to get better, right?

:D

Probably should just edit the last post, but this is a totally different subject...

We've just unveiled a Mythic Walkthrough of Halo 3 (Solo Legendary All Skulls On) - general info pages and the first level are now online. You should check this out - Tyrant has done a pretty impressive job of making this accessible.

Hah that's awesome, I only attempted Sierra 117 doing that and it was hard as balls. The best I've done was probably having 5 skulls turned on Legendary Covenant.

I heard this unlocks recon.
Only if you do it on the 7th of any month and only if 777 people do it on the same day.

I went to the b.net forums real quick to see about the exp problem and I see this:

hmm.. on a jewish holiday, no one can gain xp....... strange coincedence....

:lol

I also saw a remarkable number of people who aren't going to play anymore Halo today because they aren't gaining exp. I wasn't aware that people actually play Halo just to increase exp. That seems silly.

So I asked this because one time I got put on the wrong team. Mildly annoying, but I went about trying to kill people anyway. Then at one point in the game, one of the people I was partied with goes zooming by in a Warthog saying (in proximity chat) "Don't kill Pedro, Don't kill Pedro" and went on his merry way without killing me. I felt pangs of guilt at that point and questioned what I should do.

Also once I got split up, and all the other people I didn't know ended up quitting, leaving me and my buddy against another buddy. I grabbed the cloak and creeped up on him telling him I was gonna do unspeakable things to him. You had to be there I guess.
