So I was playing with some AJs late last night and one member specifically, Valor, was talking to me about push to talk and how it's annoying.

But then him and I remembered the NXE that's coming this Fall and how you can have a Live Party of up to 8 and you can all group chat.

Get a party of 6 (for Squad Battle) or 8 (DLC Big Team) on the Dashboard
Go to Halo 3
Launch SB or DLC BT
No more push to talk
????

Considering how laggy some BTB or SB games are with push to talk, imagine how laggy it would be with everyone in a party using bandwith to CHAT and PLAY. :p

Unless that means no more playing with people with shit connections (aka Metroid).

Sounds ideal, but I wouldn't get too exicted just yet. I'm tempted to say that the party joining game feature only applies to XBLA games.

Still not convinced it'll work as advertised; way too many variables and unanswered questions.

Even if it did imagine how many games like Gears
(I know, I know. It's already a shit-broken game but humor me)
where there are limited deaths and then your teammates will be able to use the free-cam to cheat.

They've confirmed it will work with all Xbox Live-enabled games...

I dont remember, but in a 4 player Team Slayer game, when a person dies, can he still communicate with his team members? (the 3 - 5 seconds he is respawning)

If so, then it wouldnt be much different than that.

Yeah, I love PR bullet points as well, but all I'm saying is don't get your hopes up. So far all the examples they have shown has been with arcade titles. Let me put it like this: If I'm wrong then everything is cool! But if I'm right, you're not going to be disappointed by having high hopes.

Yeah, you can talk to your teammates when you die in a 4v4 game. But it does make a difference. We'll be in constant communication for games that are 5v5 and up.

Not only that, but we don't have to deal with Captain Robot when we find a game, or Metroid not being able to hear certain people depending on who's host. :P

True, but I don't see why not to trust them in this case. I haven't seen an example of a promised dashboard feature yet, future or past, that haven't been in line with the truth.
 
The more Bungie bans people the worse alt accounts situation gets.

Point in case: Juices got banned for "cheating" because I'm such a terrible person ruining the H3 experience for everyone I get to start a new account and trounce on bad kids for some time.

I thought your console was banned from gaining EXP? Why would you go and set up a second?

Oh, so then they're helping. You gonna boost again? The second account creation is a monster that's out of Bungie's control and I'd guess you probably had set one up before this new ban went into effect anyway.

It will be helpful in pointing out where enemies are. You wouldn't have to wait what sometimes can be a crucial few seconds to let teammates know where your killer is.

Also... I've been Lightswitch'd. Nice.

Oh man, I am drowning in cognitive dissonance , I just don't know how to resolve my crisis of conscience.
 
Ah man I'm so upset... I log in to see I'm banned from gaining EXP. All I did was quit a few games last night because I wanted to run into a DLC Oddball game. I didn't even try and get EXP. Is there a way to check how long the ban is? I really really hope its only for two weeks otherwise I won't be able to get the vidmaster challenge. I also thought you get a two week warning first? *hangs self

seems a bit ridiculous considering it was a non ranked playlist but w/e, everyone gets the same rulebook.

treat everyone like a cheater, amirite?

Nice, same situation as me.

What makes it worse for me is that the 2 guys I was playing with didn't get the ban. I like Bungie's new 'fair' banning system. :lol

I was really frustrated it wasn't popping up so I continued to try and get it. I'm a diehard halo fan and I'd be crushed to see I was banned forever for something so silly. The people I played with didn't get any sort of bann either. :/

If I wanted to cheat and get EXP I would of done it in a ranked playlist. I honestly had no intentions of doing so. This was just a social game trying to get Oddball to appear...
 
bungle are indeed banning alot of people - luckily i am so leet that i can my dlc oddball game on my third time entrying the playlist and got the achievement that very game thus proving that i am way superior to you scrubs

See the problem with that is I'm being treated as I actually cheated. When I basically was just treading around in the waiting pool of cheating then went back to playing clean.

Instead I get to be forced to create an alt. Which I NEVER would have done if I hadn't got banned. I've had Juices for years through H2 and H3.

but is Intro to Philosophy still a required course in the college system? u so smart!

Laser Tag on Avalanche... I'm at one of the teleporters and I'm scanning the Shotgun area with my scope. A guy pops out from behind a spire and he's looking right at me. We fire at the same time. My shot lands neatly in his head, and his barely misses.

I hope thats sarcasm because I did not try and boost at all. If anything I sacrificed all my EXP just so I could get Oddball to come up, if Bungie's matchmaking would of brought up Oddball on the fifth try or so, I never would of resorted to quiting but instead it didn't come up at all.

I'm willing to take a two week ban of this stupid shit but for forever? Over this?..

Same actually. In the pre lobby two dudes were like "oh many lets work together and get the achievement" and right then I knew i was going to get the achievement. It didn't take me so long to get the achievement because I was always chasing the skull and taking them down. Anyway, when the game ended neither of them had gotten the achievement cause they were just standing around hoping someone would take the skull to them

Even though I did not boost I was wondering if this applied to me:

If you could clear this up Luke I'd really appreciate it...in the mean time ill go cry in a corner.
 
I think a better solution than to ban cheaters would be to force them out of the general population and into cheater-only pools. And make it so they can't tell. Fewer alts, the cheaters get placed with other cheaters and the rest of us over time have a better online experience.
 
Team BRs on Boundless plays really well. It's a bit disconcerting hearing the shield door sound effect even when there's no door, though.

Anyone played Epilogue yet?
 
It seems like everyone is getting banned and have been trying for the oddball achievement, luckily for me, one of my games was oddball on blackout with my tool of destruction being 7 ball kills, and I got the win and an achievement out of it.

I have gotten Boundless once, but haven't played Epilogue. Heard the lack of shield doors doesn't make a difference, though.
