It really sucks that they took DLC Objective away. That was my favorite playlist. I could play Avalanche pretty much every other game when it was up. I tried DLC Big Team earlier and I got Rat's Nest, Standoff, Sandtrap, and Suckhalla. Suckhalla came up like nearly every fucking time and people tried to veto it. Someone explain to me what Sandtrap and Suckhalla have to do with DLC.
 
I can confirm that the Vidmaster Challenge: Annual achievement works right now, even though it's not the 25th, yet. About eight of us just did it in two separate parties.

Yeah, it's a little unfortunate that a DLC playlist is the only place to play awesome disc-maps like Awehalla

. Plus, with the new achievements, if it DOESN'T get vetoed, everyone leaves.

i will still do this achievement right and get it on the 25th
getting it before hand seems wrong somehow

Oh crap, sorry. : / Eazy and the TJs, and then me, Omlet, dirtbag and Metroid both split up and tried to beat the others to it. Eazy and the TJs won.

But really, we're all winners.

In fact, does the achievement do anything? I heard rumors that it might be part of something later on.

That's all we know. Brian has said the vidmaster challenges WILL tie into something a bit down the road.
 
I like 6v6, but the things I do think should change:

1. Slayer on smaller maps like Isolation and Construct.

My solution? The Slayer maps should be, as follow: The Pit, Last Resort, Standoff, Valhalla, Rat's Nest, Blackout (not big, but it's more playable than those two above), Sand Tarp, etc.

2. Reduce Team Heavies.

My solution? It is a fun gametype, but the amount of Lasers puts a palm to my face. I would like it to focus more on Slayer, Multi Flag, and Neutral Assault.

Thoughts?
 
Heavies is a great gametype if they would cut the lasers down in half and make them respawn half as fast. There are like four on every map and they respawn all the time. It's insane. No point in getting vehicles and it almost turns into a sniping game, only with lasers.
 
That Vidmaster challenge was full of win. Epicness in all it's glory.

After that, I can't honestly mind if Bungie's next game is a racer. :lol

I honestly had no idea how much of a blast that last run is with everyone on ghosts.
 
Annual could have been the funnest achievement I've gotten to date.
And I've gotten a lot of achievements.

I wish Bungie implemented more of those instead of MP ones. Anyways, the AU didn't do a whole lot but it's definitely pleasant and I see my self playing many more matches of Halo. :)

It is now my 2nd favorite achievement, 1st place going to the king "Wax on, Wax off."
Both of these achievements would easily take backseat to 'ANIMAL' from rockband1, but I cant beat foreplay (or RTTH) on expert drums... GRRRRR!

Definitely a memorable achievement, had lots of fun with it. Had no idea how much fun the iron skull is. Makes everything seem so much more intense.
 
It took me a year but I finally played enough Halo 3 to get to Lieutenant Rank in Multiplayer. I expected to get the Spartan Officer achievement but it didn't turn up. Am I doing something wrong? I thought that was the requirement? I noticed on certain pages of my stats on Bungie.net that my rank is still Staff seargent or whatever is below lieutenant.

Whats all that about? Does it sometimes take a while for the rank to register and unlock the achievment?

By the way my Gamertag is BROONY UK if you want to look at my stats to see, I would link it myself but Bungie is blocked from work.

The game mechanics exist no matter how skilled the player is. It's possible to scare away Banshees and Warthogs with the AR and it's possible to board them. If that doesn't work there are always other options.

My point is that you never feel like you don't have a chance when you face a vehicle. You don't need a rocket launcher to take them out. The rocket launcher just makes it easier. If even that isn't enough and your opponent is really good there is always the spartan laser :D

One of my main complaints about Halo 3 online is the Vehicle killing. I find it absurd that you can stick a Hog in most places, and the explosion doesn't kill anyone, or at least seriously mess it up. Frag grenades are almost entirely useless too, the barely even put it off course. The Brute Shot does a good job of sending it slightly off course, but it really should do more damage to the occupants.

The amount of times i've hit a sweet spot on a Warthog, with a Sticky, with a Frag, a Brute Shot, and the thing just does a barrel roll and continues on it's way, with barely even any shield damage to it's occupants, is ridiculous. Don't get me started on Ghosts - trying to kill one of those without Rockets or a Laser is a fruitless endeavour. The things are pretty overpowered, and it's made playing Valhalla/Sandtrap Covies an instant session killer.

I'm a huge advocate that in Halo 3, no matter what weapon you have, if you have the knowledge and skill, you can do damage. The weapons are well balanced that I never feel the need to run straight for power weapons, I feel I can engage right off the bat with whatever hand i'm dealt. And I love Halo 3 for exactly this reason. Which is why Vehicle killing is so frustrating. I have sticky grenades, which normally get kills from splash damage alone, and I have the skill to land a grenade beside the driver/gunner. Yet, it doesn't do anything. Again, I have the skill to land a grenade on top of a fast moving Ghost - again, nothing. It feels like the Skill-beats-weapon mechanic just got barrel rolled out a window.
 
So you can get the Vid master annual achievement? For those of you who have got it, where do you find all four ghosts? If you can, a picture would help.

I'm really liking DLC FFA, and I normally hate FFA. Great selection of maps, nice number of players (8), Foundry is replaced with Anvil (thankfully).

Well said, sir. I agree completely. This is what made Halo so great. You actually were rewarded for grenading vehicles and they would actually flip, severely injure, and even kill the driver and/or passengers. Another thing that I wish existed in Halo 3 (that existed in Halo) is that you could snipe people out of tanks. Being able to do that to tanks and hornets in Halo 3 would be great. It would even the playing field a bit for those not in the vehicles, and it would also reward you for achieving good sticks and snipes on the people driving their vehicles. It really is absurd when you stick a warthog and it just keeps going like nothing ever happened.

You know at the very top of the forerunner structure where you hold off the flood for a while until the door opens? If you are up there, facing the door, the ghosts will be to your right under the ramp you take up to the top.

Getting the achievement was extremely easy. I orginally thought it(iron skull) would restart the entire level if one of your team mate died (like it does for Single player).
Since I have beaten the game on many difficulties and many skulls thrown in the mix before, the actual combat was very easy, though that does not tell the entire story of how many times trasher fell into the pit.:lol But many laughs were had, as if the game just came out recently, and we were all trying to finish it for the first time.

Edit: And when you still grab OS, you still get a couple of seconds of invincibility. What happened on Narrows was just lag.
 
Not being able to snipe people out of the Hornet is completely baffling to me.

But you can snipe people out of a Wraith, provided the hatch has been popped.

They only appear after you kill GS.

Couldn't agree more with you and Trasher on the Hornet. It was one of the first things a lot of my friends, and myself, tried to do on Avalanche - snipe the driver. It just seems right, and seems like it should work, but it doesn't. Also completely agree that you should be able to snipe the driver of both tank types, although it's cool that you can do it to the Wraith if you pop the hatch first - that actually makes a lot of sense. Wonder if that works with the Scorpion too?

Needs more Boundless and High Ground.

Team Heavies is definitely an excuse to abuse power weapons and vehicles. Needs some refinement.

Would love to see 1 flag on High Ground. It would probably become much more strategic and harder with 6v6 (similar to Burial Mounds a la Halo 2). 1 flag on Last Resort is a must as well as 2 flag on The Pit and 2 flag Rat's Nest.

I haven't even played Boundless. I just enjoy Snowbound regardless of the shield doors. Sorry for cutting out early, I wasn't actually planning on playing much at that moment since I was actually playing around with router settings.

Take Valhalla, throw in a couple of objects, transporters, extra warthogs, scorpion tanks, wraith tanks, and more lasers. It's like the same for the other maps, with a few tweaks.

What they need to do is either follow the structure of covies: That is, each base has rockets and in the middle is the lazer or they need to dramatically cut down the respawn times of the lazers and pimp up the rockets.

seriously, just add more rockets. they are the cool persons weapon, lazer is for scrubs.
