MLG players are Bungie's most prized fans. As such, they get special benefits (such as beta map testing) It's truly amazing to see such a relationship between diehard fans who love the game, and Bungie.

Weird, I'm trying to start a solo campaign on Sierra 117 so I can grab the iron skull and I keep getting an error saying "The game ended because a player left the game."

Any ideas?

Could you be any stupider?!

If you look at the rest of his gamerscore points you can tell he has cheated. I would imagine all of that will get zeroed out here soon.

Squad Battle is such an awesome playlist, it's a shame it took this long to get something like this in. :lol
Yeah, those games were awesome.

I only played one game of DLC BTB. For those that have played more of it, how often does a "Heavy" variant appear?
A lot. And Heavy Sandtrap is a chaotic mess. There are, like, four Lasers. There's no weapon control or vehicle control, it's just "Get into a vehicle, get lasered. Get the Laser, get Lasered."

The heavy variants have way too many lasers...I understand vehicles could possible dominate, but why not add more drainers or something. Getting in a Scorpion for some fun and then havin' 2-3 lasers shoot at you is awesome.

I must say, I'm having fun with Halo 3 again. There are still an insane amount of facepalm.gif problems, but the fun has come back to it.

What are your top problems that you want to see fixed?

Yep. I didn't notice any lag either. Did Bungie tweak the net code or host selection?

Fixable problems:

1. Spawn issues
2. Playlist types
3. Rankings

It seems as if at least two of those have been addressed, which I'm happy about sans Team Snipers.

Non-fixable problems:

1. Lag/latency
2. Hit detection

I really doubt they can fix those, so I just have to live with them.

I know I am only speaking from one game, but there was only one laser on Heavy Avalanche.

Have you seen a Heavy Valhalla?

There is a Valhalla Heavies as well as Standoff Heavies. And Avalance Heavies definitely has more than one laser, or at least it did when it was in the playlists before.

Too chaotic for me. The upside is that Standoff Heavies has a Gauss Hog which is criminally underused in Halo 3.

Shishka, when are you going to update the hopper lists on Bnet? I've been very anxious to see what maps and gametypes are in the playlists now, and what their weighting is.

I'd like to see the weightings for Squad Battle, because we seem to be getting a lot of Heavy games. Not that they aren't good as a 'spice' variety, but I sort of pictured the default experience mostly consisting of 6v6 Slayer BRs and Multi-Flag on Valhalla and Standoff, because, you know, that's when Halo 3 is best.

Did the host records reset or something? Social slayer is smooth as silk for me right now. Kids are gonna get ruthlessly donged on if the lag stays this low.

Oddball on Guardian (Lone Wolves) is complete CHAOS :lol There's more lag than ever but I figure that there'll be a few bugs this early on

Do not want Heavies.
I just played a Heavy variant on Valhalla. The matched started off 4 v 6 (our team had six), and it didn't really feel like a "heavy" game. Most likely because the other team was missing two players, I'll give Heavy Valhalla another go, but from what I played, there are two too many spartan lasers on Heavy Valhalla.

Heavy Avalanche was fucking awesome, though. <3.

The only heavy variant that is starting to grow on me is standoff because it has teh snipers!!!!!!!!

I miss my name :(

Heavies is too messy. Why is there Banshees on Standoff? Like c'mon.

I don't really have too much quips about Avalanche Heavy, it's not too bad since the map is big enough to support this gametype. Same goes for Sandtrap. However, Standoff and Valhalla are too small to support it.

Needs more CTF on Valhalla, Last Resort, and less of Slayer on Construct.

(Slightly) on topic, I'm fiddling with making a website for one of my college classes and want to give the front page a little more character...maybe I should put the Superintendent on it. :lol

I had never played a heavies variant before today... I only played Valhalla, but it was pretty awesome, even though EVERYONE on my team quit.

Do it, and see if it finds its' way back to the internet.

So wait, shouldn't the legendary map pack be free by now? Wouldn't it be free when Mythic comes out?
The Mythic set has no release date and hasn't been announced. I think there's a good chance Legendary will go free when Mythic shows up, but it sounds from the interview earlier today that's a month or so away.

My hope is that we'll get the Mythic pack announced on Thurday and a map revealed, and then we get more map reveals as we get closer to the release of he map pack. Then when the map pack is released (in like a month) Legendary goes free and required.

This is my not-entirely-unrealistic-hope.

So what's the general feeling on AU2?
It's cool, and I'm definitely happy, especially with Squad Battle which is great, but the spawns are still the number one annoyance for me and that hasn't been fixed. The new map variants go a long way towards bringing more variety to the experience, but the Legendary maps need to be free and required SOON.

First impressions:

For once I didn't come away as a shattered and frustrated shell of a man from Halo 3's multiplayer. Lag didn't play as big a part in my countless deaths this time around and the map and mode selection wasn't a problem for me.

Actually there was one thing that pissed me off, I can't play Team Swat because I don't have the latest map pack. I'm sure there is some way to fix that, most other non-DLC playlists work perfectly so why not Team Swat?

Squad Battle is amazing, with a few tweaks to the heavy variants I could see myself never playing another playlist again. :P
It's a gigantic vehicle cluster-fuck. Which is fun for a few matches, but I personally prefer the smaller to medium sized maps that require skill with weapons. Vehicular combat gets old real fast. If I wanted to do vehicle battles I'd buy Unreal Tournament. Halo is at its best when there aren't vehicles IMO.

I keep on forgetting to switch out pistol for AR after I acquire another weapon. I automatically assume that I keep the AR. :lol

And holy shit at Snappy Mold and Backflip. :lol :lol
