I like how they get through this entire article without mentioning the game.

"Halo conjures visions of radiant beauty, power and wisdom. The circle of light reflects the collider's form; it is a crowning achievement of science and engineering. It also gives more than a nod to the experiment's importance to religious debate."

Alternately, a giant ring-shaped super weapon which will destroy all sentient life in the galaxy when fired.

One of those two.

I just noticed this. :lol

Several other entries to the competition proved popular. Colliderscope garnered many votes, along with Black Mesa, the name of an ill-fated research facility in the game franchise Half-Life.

They didn't mention Halo(game), but they did mention another game.

So I've been watching the MLG Top Ten videos lately and came to the conclusion that HaloGAF needs its own type of Top Plays.

Now since I don't have the hax that urk has to capture your clips and save them to my HDD, I'm thinking you guys just recommend a clip (be it funny or serious) to the GT: NGHC and then I'll save the clip, upload it to NGHC's fileshare then have GameVee grab the videos. Then I'll make a post about it in this thread with a link to the #5 play, then #4, #3, etc.

Hopefully Ghaleon will be on board to post the new Top Plays into the OP.

This won't be a weekly thing. I'll only be able to do this when I have the time/feel like it since my classes start up next Monday.

What do you guys think?

Sweet, I'm in. Before I recommend them, do you think any of these will make the cut?

Just noticed that halo.bungie.org actually forwards you to nikon.bungie.org
How long has that been in effect? Has it always been that way and I just never noticed?

Was this done after the ip split from bungie at the request of MS/Bungie?

Is there some significance to "Nikon" in the halo verse that I have missed?

It has been like that for as long as I remember. But I would like to hear what Nikon means.

Further to Dominos GAF Top Plays idea I submit: An overkill with the sniper :D

One of my better
read: less lame
plays. Just wish Gamevee captured with the reticle still showing :/

The crosshair thing is a Halo thing, not a Gamevee thing no?

Also, those WETA statues are now available for preorder, dunno how thing that's been up. The Cortana one is tempting to me, but 200+ is pretty fucking steep. :lol

Yeah, it has to do with clips. When you start up a clip it doesn't show it automatically, you would have to switch around to another person and then back and then drop back into first person perspective to get the reticule back.

Thats what I thought. I have some full games up and it shows the crosshair on those, its just a minor thing but it looks better with than it does without. Im sure Gamevee are aware that by default its not there for clips. Don't know what they could do about it really

Yeah, without knowing too much about how that portion of their grabbing system works, I can only speculate. They could always ask the submitting person whether or not the clip is a 1st person view and whether or not they want the reticule shown and then modify their programmed controller (or however they do it) to do what is needed to get the reticule back.

Thats probably the only way it could be done. Seems like a whole lot of extra work for them for something so simple, and with no real extra incentive, I can't see it happening. Oh well, still an awesome service :D

Yeah, or it would be even better if TU2 addressed this issue. Doubtful, but you never know.
