With the waning prevalence of 3rd party exclusives, MS really needs a great 1st party lineup to separate the 360 from the PS3 (which inherently has Blu-ray exclusively). It's hard for me to see the closing of studios and their reluctance to pick up other developers as good things.

A conspiracy theory of mine that I've been nursing for months now is that MS is letting all its star studios and third party partners go because they're prepping an exit from the space...
Xbox is most likely going to end up Third this generation when the dust settles, MS has put in billions of dollars into the division across 2 hardware generations with meager/no returns, etc.
To me, letting Bungie go, letting Bioware and Bizarre get away from you, closing FASA and Ensemble... these all seem like actions the company would be taking if there were no plans for an Xbox 720. Could be signs of a slow wind-down of MS's videogame business.

Yeah, from our perspective, it's difficult to see some of these changes as positive, but I'm going to remain optimistic for Microsoft's future products when it comes to software, as they've published some really awesome stuff this generation. They also have the Halo franchise in their hands and Frank O'Connor at the helm, and I can't help but be optimistic in that regard because they seem to be serious about making sure that the franchise goes in a direction the fan's can respect. I don't think I (or anyone else for that matter) could say that if they didn't have a long time Bungie employee and Halo fan pulling the strings over there.EazyB said:
I feel bad for the guys at Ensemble and everything I've seen thus far makes Halo Wars a day one purchase for me. Hopefully those talented folks are snatched up quickly so they can stay busy.

Man, just played this game after my mate had my copy for like 4 months.
Forgot how good this game looks and plays. But unfortunately I forgot how rusty I was and got my ass handed to me.
It's still as frustrating as ever to get the n00b scenario of SWEARING you unloaded an entire clip into a guy only to die with a couple of shots with the BR. :lol
