There will be no insertion of Campaign objects, enemies or friendlies via the Forge as folks have speculated. There will be no “bots” added to the game. The “set” on Rat’s Nest was designed to appear like a backlot of a film set, a holding area, not some depiction of a brand-new feature that implements Campaign objects into multiplayer. Do consider this issue a closed one. Calm yourselves down, pump the brakes, and take a breath.

Yeah but str8 still won the majority of the games. They count the last time they played as well, it doesn't matter either way.

They only had 3, Instinct had 1.

Play in a Foundry dome or any other practice arena, or play customs on normal maps with snipe starts.

Or make snipers ranked so the weak can play at a low level (ie people who quit out of every sniper game before it starts) and the people who are better quickly advance up the ranks and don't have to have terrible people placed on their team.

True, but it isn't that hard to snipe in Campaign.

All of your enemies stop moving at one point.

The problem with that is there isn't always someone to play with.

Or make snipers ranked so the weak can play at a low level (ie people who quit out of every sniper game before it starts) and the people who are better quickly advance up the ranks and don't have to have terrible people placed on their team.

Be sure to check out triumph.. I don't believe we've ever done a match on that one yet.

Should fit 4vs4 TS the best of the bunch.

I wonder if it's possible to get an outdoor level editor out of forge.. Like maybe that grid thing we saw in that recent video allows for hills and cliffs to be placed on top, and that brown piece was just a base section. Like you just place the elevated pieces and it connects the ground level (grid) for you. Probably pretty safe to assume that's NOT what we saw in the grid forge thing, but it still has me thinking.

I also think that the next forge level is going to be geared to larger teams one way or the other. Something that will allow for some quality 6vs6 or accommodate some vehicles at the least.

If the grid map does allow for outdoor forged maps, then I really do hope there are ways to make hills/rocks/cliffs. The cookie-cutter scenery items in the current forge model wouldn't work very well though. I hope they're able to impliment something along the lines of Far Cry or at least The Sims. It would be a totally different way of using forge so I'm doubtful they could put it in, but I want that more that anything.


And Dirtbag, I hope online because I finally catch you in a rare moment you have Rock Band in but now you're gone :(

Next week. I'm really busy right now, but I'm trying to set up something substantial and interesting for each map. I'm going to do it in alphabetical order, so I'm working on Avalanche right now.

Monday and Sunday are the slowest days for the thread, so I'm thinking of doing it on either of those days. You guys let me know what sounds best.

I booted up Halo 3 tonight after a long hiatus. I've always enjoyed halo multiplayer locally but never got into it over live. I love all of the different modes. Assault is awesome fun. People are way better than me even at the lower levels lol. So yeah, definitely glad it's still on my shelf and that the community is still very strong. I almost forgot how feature rich this game is.

I haven't been following this game very much. Do you guys think the legendary maps will become available for free or do you think that's a long ways off from happening? I guess I'll wait until pax before I throw down the points.

I would love to do that, but people don't seem as interested anymore. Nobody even posted in the main Quarantine topic even after I announced that it had been hosted on Bungie's Favorites for a two week period.

I did however, get massive amounts of downloads though.

I am really, really happy that you represent a tiny percentage of the overall Halo 3 population.

Some of us DO suck at Snipers, but would like to get better - and a casual (unranked) weekend playlist is pretty much the ideal chance for us.

Four weeks without playing Halo sucked my skills DRY. :lol I went into the Rumble Pit and went -10 :( Granted, I was trying out the Bumper Jumper configuration but I still felt so pathetic.

I think I missed 10 melees by forcing my opponents to watch me reload. :lol

I don't think they'll ever be free, but they are well worth the price tag.

I would always like to play some Quarantine on your infection maps. It's quite fun to play and enjoy.

If you ever want to get some party going on, I would join, depending on the times obviously.

Bungie has stated that there are no plans to release the maps for free.

I agree. Team Snipers has never been a serious gametype for me. I always just use it to warm up my sniper skills for more serious matches. I HATE Team Snipers otherwise.

The picture will have to satisfy you I'm afraid. You're more than welcome to search the entire halo universe for the rock.
